Any idea why ?ref=wookmark being appended to URL?
-
We have a https site and have been checking our 301 re-directs from the old http pages.
All seem fine except one...and it is ONLY weird in Firefox (it works OK on Chrome and IE). The http version of that one URL is redirecting to the correct https URL, but with ?ref=wookmark being appended to the end. Why?
On the Firefox browser only...
http://www.easydigging.com/broadfork(dot)html
301 redirects to
https://www.easydigging.com/broadfork(dot)html?ref=wookmark
From the research I did Wookmark seems to be a JQuery feature, but we do not use it (as far as I know). And even if we do, it probably should not pop up when doing a 301 redirect. I did try clearing my cache a few times, with no change in the problem.
Any help is appreciated

Hi Martijn,
I checked my FIrefox, and not seeing any plugins or addons that would cause that issue.
It is strange that it is only that one page. None of my other similar pages do that...
Did it happen on your computer? Any other ideas?
Greg

Hi,
Have you checked the plugins that you're using within Firefox? It could be that one of the plugins will be causing the issue and is appending this to the actual URL.
Martijn.

Category url with resultsperpage loop
Hi there, We upgraded our webshop last weekend and our moz crawl on monday found a lot of errors we are trying to fix. I am having some communication problems with our webmaster so I need a little help. We have extremely long category pages url, does anyone have a guess which kind of mistake our webmaster could make:

https://site-name.pl/category-name?page=3?resultsPerPage=53?resultsPerPage=53 .... And it keeps on repeating the string ?resultsPerPage=53 exactly 451 times as if there was some kind of loop. Thanks in advance for any kind of hint 🙂
Kind regards,

Same URL for languages sub-directories
Hi All, I have a main domain and 9 different subdirectories for languages, example: www.example.com/page.html www.example.com/uk/page-uk.html www.example.com/es/page-es.html we are implementing hreflang tags for the languages, but we are thinking to get rid of the dashes on the languages URL: -uk or -es, so it will be: www.example.com/page.html www.example.com/uk/page.html www.example.com/es/page.hrml would this be a problem? to have same page names even if they are in different subdirectories? would we need to add canonical tags, at lease for the main domain URLs? www.kornferry.com/page.html Thank you, Rachel

Mobile update: referrer in alternate URL
Hi there, A little while ago I posted a question about the upcoming mobile update. I am convinced about the fact that I must work on a solution before the update rolls out since a substancial part of our traffic has come from mobile devices. My current issue: our webshop host is not willing to cooperate with the best possible solution our mobile webshop partner proposes. This was the plan: This is the only possible solution now: The element 'request.url' will contain the full desktop URL which 301 redirects to the mobile URL. My question is: will google have problems with the 301 redirect which refers to the right mobile URL? Thanks in advance.

URL query considered duplicate content?
I have a Magento site. Â In order to reduce duplicate content for products of the same style but with different colours I have combined them on to 1 product page. I would like to allow the pictures to be dynamic, i.e. allow a user to search for a colour and all the products that offer that colour appear in the results, but I dont want the default product image shown but the product image for that colour applying to the query. Therefore to do this I have to append a query string to the end of the URL to produce this result: www.website.com/category/product-name.html?=red My question is, will the query variations then be picked up as duplicate content: www.website.com/category/product-name.html www.website.com/category/product-name.html?=red www.website.com/category/product-name.html?=yellow Google suggest it has contingencies in its algorithm and I will not be penalised: http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.co.uk/2007/09/google-duplicate-content-caused-by-url.html But other sources suggest this is not accurate. Â Note the article was written in 2007.

Order of keyword usage in URL
Hi, I have been wondering for a few weeks if the order of keyword usage for a long tail keyword made a difference. Today I ran an on-page report here for a new page which is a review of a product. The report warned about the keyword usage in URL which made me question my knowledge about this. let's say the page is titled Razer Mouse Review my URL is www.example.com/review/razer-mouse I thought it was a bad idea to repeat the same word in a URL, that's why I categorized all my reviews under review directory and avoided using the word "review" more than once. Should I modify this url and make it www.example.com/review/razer-mouse-review Note: I see the report listed this under "moderate importance factors" and still gave the page A grade. any ideas appreciated!

Overly-Dynamic Urls how to fix in SEOMOZ?
Hello. I have about 300 warnings of overly-dynamic urls. In urls like this: http://www.theprinterdepo.com/clearance?dir=asc&order=price&p=10 As you can see all parameters are needed, and my ecommerce solution generates them automatically. How can I get rid of these warnings? I suppose that by using robots.txt, but I have no idea about it. In my google webmaster tools I have already configured that these parameteres the crawler should not index them. Check the image here: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/64/37092444.png/

How to display the exact url of our subsite in Google
Hi, I'm new to SEO and we just recently relaunched our site. Our site consist of 6 hotels that acts as a subsite. We noticed that when search for one of the hotels what is coming in the google is the main website. Example: We search for flora grand. We expect that in Google it will display the first link as www.florahospitality.com/dubai-flora-grand-hotel.aspx. But it show the main site which is www.florahospitality.com What do I miss here?
