It's usually reserved for programming or as a separator on a page's meta-title. Unless you're writing mathematical equations, I can envisage any other use for it!

How do I redirect old html pages to new site?

Im seeing in my Google search console some of my old html pages. I never redirecting them and now they get 404 errors. Below is my current htaccess file, how would I changed it so that any html page i.e. intercallsystems.com/index.html forwards to my new site intercallsystems.com ? Why add .html to WordPress pages?

A site I may take over has a plugin that adds .html to the pages. I searched online but I’ve only found how to add it rather than why to add it. Is it needed? If I remove it, I’ll have to be careful with SEO / indexed pages and redirects. The site is running 3.x.x and 90% of the plugins have not been updated in over 5 years including this one. Before I update to 4.7.x, I am trying to understand the landscape (pros / cons) on why something could be used and if I need to find a suitable replacement for it.

Strange problem with basic html anchor tag linking to my domain

I have some old valuable followed links from high ranking domains and I noticed from moz reports they are reporting 404.Visually they looked fne but when I clicked on those they indeed were generating 404. When I researched further they are defined as My domain.com Notice there is extra space between "/" and the closing quote. It turns out it is sending "www.mydomain.com/ " to browsers. Any ideas How to solve this? If I should put a perm redirect in apache, how do I deal with these "%C2%A0" characters. It seems the issue is happening at more than one remote domain.

If I want clean up my URLs and take the "www.site.com/page.html" and make it "www.site.com/page" do I need a redirect? If this scenario requires a 301 redirect no matter what, I might as well update the URL to be a little more keyword rich for the page while I'm at it. However, since these pages are ranking well I'd rather not lose any authority in the process and keep the URL just stripped of the ".html" (if that's possible). Thanks for you help! Google lists eBay.au number one for vertical garden and their sellers are using my IMAGES

Is there anyway of getting Google to slap eBay with a loss of page rank ? eBay.au has number one position for vertical garden in google.com.au. (search 9000). Fair enough I suppose because they are delivering a huge range of vertical garden products BUT the sellers are using images for their products that are not showing their products. Most of the sellers are flogging China copies - and I mean these are really bad copies. But what angers me even more is some of their top sellers are using MY IMAGES. They have taken my images used on a UK website and have reused them in AUstralia. Sellers have even rebranded my images. GRRRRR Is there some international sin bin where I can name and shame? Does Google care about such matters?

Half Implemented HTML 5 Structure

Hi there, I have just notced on a website that it has a halt implemented html 5 structure. Well, when I say half implemented, it has the doctype and then one <header>section. After that all of the divs are custom ones that have been added for the CSS. Could this lack of structure have a negative effect on the site? Cheers, Edward </header>
