INBOUND LINKS FROM OTHER OWNED BRANDS HARMING MY MAIN SITE?
-
Hey,
I work for a company that owns 5 brands, all pretty large sites with 10,000s of pages.
We have one primary site, that has inbound links from all the other owned sites (4) resulting in 950k backlinks pointing to the domain.
For context, the primary domain has 781 referring domains (with 4 of them being the other owned sites).
My question was, will this excess of linking be harming the primary domain? Will the ration of backlinks to referring domains be seen as a negative quality indicator?

No stress whatsoever. What you have done is identified an issue, to be monitored. If no sudden change in rankings or even a slow decline you are in a strong position. So no need for concern.
We are getting a lot of wins, by improving schema markup for our clients, perhaps do a schema review. Keep ahead of the pack.
Go get em, Regards

We tend to rank well on certain terms for the primary site, although not so great on other terms.
The other sites all rank well.
Here is an example of the sitewide link in the navigation of one of the owned sites.
So no immediate concern?
Thanks in advance.

What your describing is not uncommon. Large companies often have interdependent websites interlinking.
The larger picture is whether google sees the structure as a PBN.
So first question is, how are the sites ranking, or at least the primary site? If the site is ranking well - then no urgency and need to change anything. So can you clarify?
Regards

My site is : tcmguide.com Checked my site in search console and noticed that I had out of no where got 13000+ links from different dirty sites, as I have never tried to building those links in my life. 13 382 links.jpg I tried to export and Disavow this but via Export I got access to 1000 only and can't find these links in MOZ. Moz is showing other links, can any one help me out to recover my traffic and If my site is hit with Spam Update, how can I recover from it. Please help me felling pretty demotivated and stressed

Links from spam sites
Hi! Thank you in advance for your help. Few months ago we suffered a content spam attack. Now, We have discovered that we have imbound links pointing the spam content from external spam and untrusted sites. Could be this affect our ranking? In this case... How can we notify to Google that we refuse these imbound links? Cheers, Luis

What would you do about dead inbound links?
Hey guys, I recently asked a question similar to this, but wanted to spark up a bit of a discussion around it to see what everyone's feelings were on it. The web is always changing - as we're all too aware - so links you may have obtained (by however means) let's say 2 years ago may not be 'active' now. By that I mean you may have had a link from "example_-website.com" in 2010 and now "example-_website.com" is no longer an active website - but still shows a parked domain. The thing is... this parked domain is still cropping up in OSE, suggesting that Google may still believe there's a link there - and may not have re-crawled that site to prove otherwise. The issue I've had with this is an SEO company built links to the sites I'm working on now (one of the sites has been penalised as a result of their link building). These links aren't 'active' anymore and when viewed on OSE, they just head straight to a parked domain with no visible (or in-source) link to my site. What are everyone's feelings on this? What would you all do? I'm in two minds whether to re-write a section of the website.... but I'm swaying towards creating better content and NOT re-directing the old URLs to it (just contact the decent links and ask for a change of link). Looking forward to seeing your responses and speaking to you all! Nick

Are you careful about linking back to sites that link to you?
Suppose that a trusted website added you to their recommended links page. Do you worry that linking back to them from a page on your site will diminish the value of the original link?

Different Link Titles Linking to the same page
So I'm doing a lot of link building but my question is how do search engines treat different link titles to the same page. For example, my main page is www.musillawfirm.com If I have 20 links from 20 sites linking to it as Melbourne FL DUI Lawyer and 20 more linking as Melbourne FL immigration Lawyer and More linking as Cocoa FL DUI lawyer etc... what happens? Do the search engines just rank me higher for all the terms or would it be better to always just link to separate landing pages? Thanks in advance

Historical inbound links
Hi there, I would like to compare the current volume of inbound links to our website with the past, to see the growth. Is there a way to do this? Thanks, Heath
