How to Rank Page 2 to Page 1
-
We have a blog post about the fitness equipment names https://www.fitness-china.com/gym-equipment-names-pictures-prices The content of our article is very helpful and comprehensive.
However, the current search for fitness equipment names only appears in the first place on the second page of GOOGLE Natural Search Results. One page. How can we improve our ranking? What we hope is SEO white hat practice

To continue to rank better for the term "fitness equipment names", you need to optimize the page a little bit better for that phrase and continue to build links to that page.
Here are a few things I'd recommend:
- Change your title tag to "18 Gym/Fitness Equipment Names, Pictures, and Prices for Full-body Strength".
- Add "fitness equipment names" to the content once or twice. I'd probably just change "gym equipment names" to "fitness equipment names" two times because you have the former phrase in the content 6 times.
- Add "fitness equipment" to the end of the alt text of some of the images. For example
- Add a few more internal links from other blog posts to this page
- Go look at all the backlinks to all 10 pages that rank on page 1 for that phrase and try to acquire some of the same links from the same root domains

Web 2.0 Backlinks
Hi Normal Web 2.0 websites like Wordpress.com, blogger.com have very High DA and PA. But when we create a subdomain, DA and PA falls to 1 as Google treats subdomain as new websites. Does it make any sense then to get backlinks from web 2.0 websites? will it help in Google rankings?

I earned some high-quality backlinks, but the target page's ranking is not improving. Why?
Within the last three months, I acquired five .EDU backlinks and two editorial links to a page ranking for a competitive keyword. After the first few links came through, the page jumped from #15 to #7. It stayed there with minor fluctuations for a couple weeks. I earned a couple more good links, and the page fell as far as #44. It has recovered a bit then, but has not returned to the first page. It is worth noting that the .EDU links were achieved by sponsoring university programs. Could Google possibly be recognizing this as a link scheme? Are the links being earned too quickly? I don't believe it could be either, as the links reside on high quality, trustworthy sites and there wasn't a sudden major influx of them. Thank you for your insight! Also, I think my username tricked Moz into thinking I'm a staffer. Not the case!

How much 'ranking power' would a link from a privacy policy page of a Big Brand have if the site content is totally unrelated?
Let's say that Site A is a large brand with high authority ( Moz shows it at 90 DA). Site A is about “Blue Shoes”. Site B is about “fishing”. If Site A links from their privacy policy page to Site B … would that inbound link carry enough weight in a way that could impact rankings for Site B given that the content is totally unrelated and it's a link from a privacy policy? I’m asking if the work to get clients/partners do this help. I have a hypothetical question for you all! Site A is a large brand with high authority ( Moz shows it at 90 DA). Struggling to re-rank website
A client of ours - www.helenbattphotography.com - was ranking well for local keywords. However, the rankings started to drop as of January this year (slowly) and quite considerably since May. We have not had any Google penalties. To date we have gone through backlinks and removed a few low quality/dubious links that were built around 5 years ago by another agency the client was using and also disavowed some others. This was done around 2 months ago. No impact to date. The website is hovering around page 4 and 5 for the keywords that it used to rank for on page 1 for. We are really struggling to increase the rankings for this client. We have introduced good, unqiue content to the site - not that this was ever really a problem on the site - but this has also made little difference. Would be great to get some feedback on the site and any obvious pointers that we might be missing here - a case of not being able to see the wood through the trees. Thanks

Advice needed on making some pages more relevant...
Hello - and sorry to bother you all. I am learning on my feet with SEO, but gradually getting there. I have started a directory for musical instruments and need to make the profile pages for dealers as relevant as possible (their instruments are doing well, but profile views less so). The following link is an example. http://www.amati.com/music-shops/dealers/dealer/turner-violins.html all of them can be found here: http://www.amati.com/music-shops/dealers/page-1.html We are putting in a search box to help with functionality, but if any one can give me an idea how to make these profiles super then I would be enormously grateful! Best wishes, James

Would you delete the links page ?
I have noticed that more and more of my competitors are removing the links page from their sites. Either that or they are hiding them. I suppose it makes sense because all the links on my page http://www.kerryblu.co.uk/links-7-w.asp are just links to sites that are linking to me. Supposedly there is no worth in this but I'm just worried that I will lose a lot of links if I delete this page and this may effect my currently crappy rankings for the worse. What do you think? Keep the links page or delete it ?

Link velocity - still a significant ranking factor?
We have recently taken over the SEO for a site which had a pretty poor back link profile, lots of comment links, directories etc. Although the quality of the link was very questionable, the previous SEO were maintaining a decent link velocity. Obviously I have no intention of carrying on with spammy crap links, and am looking to build some good fresh content. This will obviously slow down the link velocity quite considerably, is that in itself likely to hurt SERPs? Thanks in advance
