Adding Multiple Country Locations for Google Business Listings

Hi Moz community,
I hope everyone is well. I would like to ask for your advice on how to show a Google Business listing in both the UK and US for our brand. I understand that you can add multiple locations to your Google listing under the 'Manage Locations' tab but I wasn't quite sure how it worked in practice. I have a couple of questions below:
If we have 2 registered locations/offices (one in the UK and one in the US) are we able to create 2 separate locations that will show our business listing correctly in the right-hand margin when people search for our brand in the US and UK respectively?
If so, when a user finds our business listing in the US, are we able to serve them our US website version when they click the 'Website' button, as opposed to showing them our UK website? Our US website has been created as a sub-directory from our main UK site and can be seen as: www.example.com/us/

To add multiple country locations for Google Business Listings, follow these steps: (study abroad)
Sign in to your Google My Business account.
Click on the location you want to add a country to or create a new location if needed.
In the location dashboard, click on "Info" in the left-hand menu.
In the "Address" section, add the primary address for that location.
Scroll down to the "Service areas" section and click on "Add service area."

Enter the additional countries or regions you want to include in the service area for that location. You can add multiple countries or specific areas within those countries.Click "Save" to confirm the changes.

@RossKernez, what if you don't have a regionalised domain name?
Can you use the same website for both location listings?We have physical offices in the UK and in NZ and want to create a Google Business Listing for each.

Hi Katarina,
You need to set up two GMB locations. One location has to be in the USA and another one has to be in the UK. Also, you have to have a physical location in both countries in order to receive the postcards from Google and verify your listings.
You can add www.example.com/us/ version of the site to the "website field "in the GMB, and you add a regular version of the site to another GMB( UK Version).

Hi, Our website is currently (and has been) ranking 1st for a number of keywords but is not listed under the Google Local list. I have double check that all the (physical) info is correct. I do not have a duplicate page. When I order the Google Local results in rating order, we then appear on top! Yahoo Local Business Listings Hijacked
We are a solar company with three locations. When claiming our business listings on Yahoo (Yext), we noticed that one of them had already been claimed. This is a widespread, blatant fraud, and I would hope they would have interest in fixing it. Solar Connector (fake name) is associated with SolarAmerica.com, which is run by Clean Energy Experts, which was purchased by Sunrun (a publicly traded company). My specific question is, does anyone have any insight on the best method for getting help from Yahoo/Yext? Other than through their "help portal" on the website. Multiple Local Domains and Location Pages Question
Hello Everyone, So we have a priority site (domain.com) but also a geo-specific site for another location we have (domainNYC.com). Assuming both have completely unique content, different contact information and it’s justifiable to have a second domain (i.e. resources, brand/link equity…etc.) would it be recommend to also use the sub-folder approach on our primary (meaning domain.com/nyc)? And then potentially linking to domainNYC.com (just the once, not overdoing it)? Or just play it safe and keep them separate. Our concern is doing both sub-folder and separate domain might cannibalize on local searches resulting in us essentially competing with ourselves for those terms. The benefit would be leveraging the priority domain and driving visitors there. We could always ‘noindex, follow' the sub-folder page so users have access to the address on the primary domain too but wanted to see if anyone had any thoughts or suggestions as well as how it could pertain to linking (scarcely). We have found a lot of information on choosing one over the other but not as much for whether both is recommended so any extra insight would be very appreciated. Google maps listings
Hi all, I just wondered what determines the company listings that are displayed in maps. From what I can see any businesses highlighted in these lists have optimised Google Places pages and it doesn't seem to be based on general ranking as these lists seem different to the general SERPS. Any thoughts at all appreciated. Pls see attached image. Also, is there anything other than optimise your Places listing that might help ensure you are seen in these results? IUK871m.jpg

Multi location stategy
Hi, I would to get some advice on how to generate some links for my cleaning business in order to build high rankings across numerous locations for search phrases such as "house cleaning in [location]" and "domestic cleaners in [location]" etc etc. I'm hopefully on the right lines with my domain and url structure, and have set up numerous pages for each location (i.e. www.domain.com/cleaning-in-location) ticking as many of the on-page optimization boxes as possible (basically as per the whiteboard friday on mult-location businesses). I was thinking that for each location page I could set up a 'Things and places we like in [location]' in an attempt to showcase influencers' businesses, in the hope of receiving links and social mentions specific to each location page. Although this is a lot of work I was thinking that I should set up separate twitter and facebook accounts for key locations and start engaging with a local audience? From a local search perspective, is there more value gaining links from bloggers/websites physically in location_A to www.mydomain.com/cleaning-in-location_A?

Why does it take so long for citations to get listed?
I understand that several citation places take over a month to get listed, but I just don't understand why. Granted, there's nothing I can do about it, but I'm just curious what the hold up is based on. Thanks, Ruben

Sponsored Listings Hurting Local SEO?
We use a service which sponsors listings on various popular directories. In turn, it changes our phone number so that I can qualify if the call is a lead or not and then charge us. Unfortunately, while this service helps exposure on those directories, the phone number as well as the website are different. How much of a problem is this for our local SEO? Other directories include Suerpages and Citysearch. -Brant
