Certain keywords are good choices for my website (high CTR, low difficulty, high volume), but they would be very awkward to use in my website content. For example, "therapist near me" is a popular search term, but it would be very strange for me to use those words in that order in my content (I am a therapist). Any thoughts about this are welcome.

        Hi Lpantell

I think "near me" is a bit of a gotcha - searchers use this term, but Google understands that businesses don't describe themselves this way. If you search for "therapist near me", "restaurant near me", etc., you'll notice that the top ranking sites do not use the phrase "near me". Instead, they mention the location.

There are many ways to incorporate awkward keyword phrases. The most common way is to use a "meta description" which is the text you see when someone goes to your website's homepage and it will have some information about what they can expect from your site.

This text also includes any keywords that may be relevant to the content on your site, so make sure that you include those as well. You can also use "title tags" which are a little bit more technical but essentially the same thing: these are words or phrases that appear in bold on the top of each page of your website, in order for search engines like Google and Bing to understand what type of content you want them to index and rank highly for.

If you're looking for something more creative, there are tons of different options including adding images with captions or even videos into blog posts and articles so that people know exactly what kind of content they'll be getting.

Keywords don't have to be next to each other for Google to associate them and rank for them. Maybe just include them on a given subpage, not necessarily next to each other?

You will then see on which position they will start ranking and then take the next steps?

              Premium domain name redirects

              seo tactics question redirects

Hi, I run a tree surgery business - woodfeldertreecare.co.uk We're based in Manchester, UK. A few days ago I was called by Premium Domain Names who convinced me that buying treesurgeonsmanchester.com and treesurgerymanchester.com and redirecting them to our main site would be amazing for organic traffic. My designer and an SEO friend both reckon this was a waste of money and reckon I've been scammed. Any thoughts? Please help.

Footer backlink for/to Web Design Agency

seo tactics backlinks link building seo seo expert

I read some old (10+ years) information on whether footer backlinks from the websites that design agencies build are seen as spammy and potentially cause a negative effect. We have over 150 websites that we have built over the last few years, all with sitewide footer backlinks back to our homepage (designed and managed by COMPANY NAME). Semrush flags some of the links as potential spammy links. What are the current thoughts on this type of footer backlink? Are we better to have 1 dofollow backlink and the rest of the website nofollow from each domain?

Should I split long form content?

              seo tactics content development optimization

I have quite a long content on my site. By length I mean around 8000-9000 words. I optimized it to cover almost all searches related to a topic. But this length makes me uneasy for some reason. I do not think that users will find what they are looking for in such a long content. However, I don't want to neglect the SEO aspect of the content. I can talk about something like this without sharing the keywords completely: Title + for girls Title + for boys Title + for kids Title + for girlfriend Title + for boyfriend Title + for students As I said, in the current situation, these are all sub-headings (H2) of 8000-9000-word content. When I make a separate content for each of them, I can bring them all closer to 1500-2000 words. However, I am undecided whether this is the right step in terms of SEO and content optimization. What are your views?

Unsolved Can I get Moz keywords via API?

              api keywords

Hi, my boss is asking if you "have any API for keyword research -- e.g., as soon as a user creates a card title in [our application], we can auto-recommend keywords from Moz within [the application]. I shared a link with him to your Links API page, but he says he doesn't think that API does the above. Can you help? Thank you, Renae

              Breadcrumbs keyword repeats

Hi I have a client project who's developers platform is populating the category part of the breadcrumbs with the header tag.  Since these include the pages primary target keywords/phrase they are being repeated in the breadcrumbs increasing the keyword/phrase count on the page as well as repeating/duplicating the sentence. Can this cause problems ? or not because Google knows its not part of the page content/body copy (because its a breadcrumb) ? Cheers Dan

How do I PERMANENTLY change an incorrect URL link with one of my keywords?

Hello, I received an “F” grade on my on-page report for one of my keywords. I noticed that the URL linked with that keyword was wrong. After changing it to the correct URL, I received an “A.” However, the change was not permanent. How do I permanently change the URL? I don’t see any “Save Changes” or “Apply Changes” button anywhere. Thank you!

Is it necessary to add keywords to all of your pages?

Hi Everyone he company I work for has  just built a new website  with approximately 87 pages/sub pages. Should i be looking to add keywords and descriptions  to all of these pages, via the allocated areas in the back end of the site?  I am using "google's key words" tool  to generate relevant key words. If any one has any advice it would be much appreciated. Thanks for you help Regards Pete

Impact of removing category sidebar with keywords?

Our site (a niche financial publication: insideARM.com) requires some more room in the sidebar. We're considering removing the categories (we call them topics) sidebar block, or cutting down the number of items displayed within it. My concern is that we'd be removing a direct link to landing pages for important keyword terms from our most powerful page (the index). Sure, we have the terms listed in the footer, but I am worried that the position change will lower the value of the links. Our users don't really use these links for navigational purposes, which is why it comes up as a potential removed item. Am I wrong to worry about this? Would we be crippling our category pages by doing this?
