Unsolved Struggling to recouple backlinks that lead to 404 after a redesign launch
-
We had a site redesign launch a few months ago. Due to other priorities / a lot of things going on, there were a decent amount of URLs that 404ed. We implemented a drupal module search404 to redirect all of these to the homepage or a search results page that pulls search terms from the 404 page.
Our goal is to recoup SEO value since we saw a notable dip in domain authority and amount of links after launch.
We know a catch-all automated solution like this isn't ideal because it's better to 301 each page to its most relevant live page. For example, if CNN.com links to our Texas location, it's better to 301 to our new texas page than a homepage or search page.
The problem is that since we implemented this catch all search404 module, it seems like tools like Moz Pro and Screaming Frog are not picking up the backlinks from external sites that 404 since they were "fixed" by the search404 module. Any ideas on solutions?
We're trying to avoid tedious or risky solutions like undoing the module, which may bring back the 404s but cause some UX and SEO issues so we can run a SF crawl. Or going through every link in our link profile manually to check.

@wchou
Link Explorer should show you the links going to whichever page you've set the redirect to, then you can use either .htaccess or the Drupal Search404 module to redirect the backlinks to a more relevant page..?

There are a large number of missing backlinks (old) which are not showing on Moz but do show on Ahrefs. Is there a reason for this? Thanks.

404 Error - Please Help us
When we checked valuable Top pages, we noticed two types of 404 pages listed in our domain Example 1 : www.test.com/www.test.com/ecommerce.html Example 2 : www.test.com/test/ecommerce.html But we do not see any such 404 page errors in the Google Webmaster tool. Moz Top Pages Section only shows these as errors So please advise, if these are major errors or not? If these are errors, please help us to fix this as we do not have such URLs in our domain Awaiting your urgent help

My Backlinks are Coming ZERO in Open SIte Explorer
I have made many links for my website, I checked in majestic it showed me about 40. But MOZ is showing Zero. The last i remember I checked: Add noodp meta robots tag sitewide in SEO YOAST. It said it prevents search engines from using the DMOZ description for pages from this site in the search results. Also I have a NoIndex (canonical ) on category, archive, author, tag to avoid Duplicate Data. But when i see the source of my website, it shows <rel link="canonical">on every single page and post of website. Can this be the reason why MOZ is not showing any backlinks? </rel>

Why is Moz not crawling my backlinks
Hi my website www.dealwithautism.com is 3 months old and has been on DA 1 and PA1 ever since, even though the site is actively developed with quality content (a couple of posts already have 1k+ fb likes acquired editorially, while that doesnt necessarily improve SERP, it sure tells you that the post is engaging). In contrast another site of mine, www.deckmymac.com which is hardly ever managed, not have more than 15 posts and just 1 backlink, has DA 14. Running an on page analysis on www.dealwithautism.com I observed that Moz has not identified any backlinks nor social signals (except G+). However, according to Webmasters, I have 57 links, 51 of them to the root. Even Majestic is able to report 32+ backlinks. So what am I missing? Certainly, at this stage my website doesn't deserve DA 1, or does it?
