I noticed you can use placeholders in your business descriptions in MOZ Local such as |city|, |name|, etc.
How do you effectively use these and how do they work on the directories?
Thanks!I can provide some general guidance on how placeholders or variables in business descriptions might work based on common practices in local SEO.
Dynamic Content Insertion:
Placeholders like |city| and |name| are likely used for dynamic content insertion. When you use these placeholders, Moz Local may automatically replace them with the actual city name, business name, or other relevant information for each specific directory listing.
Customization for Local SEO:Using placeholders allows you to create a more personalized and targeted business description for each directory. This can be valuable for local SEO because search engines often prioritize localized content.
Consistency Across Directories:Keeping business information consistent across various directories is crucial for local SEO. Placeholders can help you maintain consistency while tailoring content to each platform.
Examples of Usage:For instance, if your business is a chain with multiple locations, you can use a placeholder for the city name to make your descriptions location-specific. Instead of writing separate descriptions for each location, you can create a template with placeholders.
Example: "Visit our |city| location for the best deals in town paraquesirve.mx!"
Implementation on Directories:
Directories that support dynamic content insertion will likely recognize and interpret these placeholders according to their platform's specifications. Moz Local, or any other local SEO tool, would then ensure that the correct information is submitted to each directory during the listing management process.
Best Practices:Ensure that your use of placeholders makes sense in the context of your business descriptions. Avoid overusing them to the point where the content appears robotic or unnatural.
To get specific guidance on how to use placeholders in Moz Local and how they interact with various directories, I recommend checking Moz's official documentation or contacting their support for the most up-to-date and accurate information. -

Unsolved Multiple Locations for One Client on Moz Local
Hello, I have a client that I want to do local SEO for. They have two locations, both cities in Tennessee. To do this, would I just start two separate locations in Moz Local? Or would that cause a problem, making them look like separate "entities" in directories?

MOZ Local not recognizing listing in ranking - score should be higher
Hello I have used MOZ local for a client in New York City. Since we set up MOZ Local for his practice MOZ keeps showing there is no Facebook page nor a hot frog listing. However both of these listings exist and are correct. Is there a way to show MOZ that these listings exist so the MOZ Rank can show the proper score/accuracy. He wonders why the score isn't higher but there isn't much I can do at the moment. Thanks!

Why is Moz local showing my google plus page as incomplete when it is 100% complete
Hi all, New to using Moz Local and so far I like it - but some information is a bit confusing. Specifically the "Incomplete" listings. When I click on it - it shows my Google Plus page (which is verified) as being incomplete. The reason provided is that Moz Local thinks I need to add 3 more categories, when in fact there are no more categories available on Google Plus. Any idea why? Thanks in advance.

Moz Local not being verified...is service area the culprit?
I've done Moz local before, and it worked without a hitch. However, this time I'm doing it for a service area business that does not show an address on Google. It's been well over a week and none of the local listings have been updated. Could this be because they require a physical address? Or, do I just need to be patient?
