Advice needed about site
-
I would like to get advice about the site http://www.wb-3d.com regarding what we should do to get it highly on Google. This seems to be a tough one as there is not enough content on the site.
I would immensly appeciate any suggestion to improve the rankings.
Specifically, what we should tweet and update on facebook.
Thanks

Reading our replies and reading the Beginner's Guide to SEO at http://www.seomoz.org/beginners-guide-to-seo should really help you with this site, and some of the others that you work with too.

To be honest, the home page of that site, above the fold, looks like it's about Autodesk news and not about a company that provides some really cool services. Focus on the customer of the site, and make the home page really convey to the customer what the company does, and that will convey it to the search engines as well.
Do a site:wb-3d.com and fix the title tags that are missing the company as well.

Any other advice about onpage seo ?

I copied this from your home page:
Autodesk, Inc., announced that Energizer Holdings, Inc. (Energizer) — a company whose portfolio includes such globally recognized and trusted brands as Energizer batteries and Eveready flashlights — has adopted Autodesk Vault data management s is oftware to more efficiently manage its product design and manufacturing
Paste it in to Google and check the results. You will see that the same article appears on many other sites.

Thanks sha. I didn't find any articles on the site. Could you please elaborate on duplicate content
-
Hi,
I would say that the biggest problem you have is the significant amount of what appears to be duplicate content on the site. Those articles which appear on hundreds of other sites will make it very difficult to achieve decent rankings. If you want to feature the information in them, then you need to write your own original version of the story. Don't just try to change some words to make it different...take a unique approach, find related articles and write something original that talks about the relationship between them...there are lots of options.
Develop good, engaging content. Tweet and Facebook post about the competition on the site, deadlines, prizes, cool entries etc, unknown facts about prototyping, invite questions and provide answers. Let your imagination run wild and build a following.
Hope that helps to get you started,
Sha

Hreflang - Is it needed even if the site is only one language
This topic came up in a discussion I had with a fellow SEO colleague, I don't believe it makes sense to have Hreflang if you don't have a second language but according to my friend they mentioned that it is great if your only targeting one country. Any opinions out in the Moz community? It seems like overkill to me

Do Google Know What People Are Doing On My Site?
I run an ecommerce site and am keep to increase the time on site and reduce bounce rate. I have had some good results from writing good articles and advertising them on Outbrain and Twitter; both of these metrics have improved. However, I am wondering if Google will see this. Clearly if people land on the pages from the SERPS and return there they will know what is happening but will they know if people get there from an advert?

Best category page structure on MY ecommerce site? Advice please
Hi all, I run the site: http://goo.gl/YATL2i I have had this category set up like this for a while now - but wonder if its confusing to google, and potentially my users... let me start by saying my products are available in 3 formats (soon to be 4), so for example i have 3 pages for cctv systems: Analogue / SD cctv systems: http://goo.gl/SPkdYW hd sdi systems: http://goo.gl/uksRAD ip systems: http://goo.gl/UMHBd0 each of the above sub categories then have a further sub category of 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 or 16 camera kit page... I am trying to figure out if it would be better to just have one "cctv systems" page, and use filters in the left menu so users can filter by format, number of cameras etc etc... but these filters would not navigate to other pages but simply limit the view on the one "cctv systems" page. If you think 1 page with filters is best - can you then advise what should i do with all the sub category pages i no longer need? 301 rediret to the main cctv systems page? Basically i currently have my site set up so cctv products are categorised by the format i,e SD, HD-SDI or IP... Which i thought was very important the user doesnt mix formats as it can not work - but am thinking maybe i should catorgorize by type i.e CCTV Camera, CCTV Recorders or CCTV Systems, and then use filters to drill further down in the categories. Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated. thanks

Looking for a Tool to Assist with Site Optimization. Does it already exist?
I'm looking for a tool that can help us quickly identify web pages on a client's site that contain a selected keyword phrase.

I would like to enter say 100 keyword phrases and the client's URL and receive a report that shows - for each keyword - the client URLs that contained that exact phrase. Does anyone know of a tool that can do this? Thank you, Rosemary Brisco0 -
Craw structure for web site about jobs?
Hi there, we have now a client who has a job offering web site. There are many craw errors in it. My question is how should the url structure in a jobs website look like and which pages should be indexed? What is the best way and tips for optimizing a job website? Now the posted jobs pages are dynamically like: examplejob.com/detail-job/1891222223/Careers-for-Mens---Womens/Experienced-Web-Design-Need I see many job websites allow their job offers to be indexed and may be this is useful because some people find jobs also when directly search in Google. Are they using dynamically urls for that? And also my related question is what happens when the job offer expires? When Google craws that page again should it be redirected to 404 page or the original job offer text should be there and just to be added info that this job offer has expired? Otherwise If only it's written that it has expired may be there will be too much duplicate content on many many pages.
