Should I use my blog posts in a sub folder

Ok I did a search and didn't see an answer to this exact question. Most of them were about if a blog should be in a sub folder and not the blog posts themselves... so here it goes. I have a blog on my website the blog itself is in /blog/ but the blog posts themselves are situated in the root folder so it looks something like mydomain.com/cool-seo-blog-post/ Is there any reason I should change this and make it read mydomain.com/blog/cool-seo-blog-post/

The answer to this question is not a white/black one. From a strictly seo point of view, the closer a keyword is to the root directory the better. But you also need to think about Navigation, UI, customer experiance, and the overall strategy you are going to use for your business.
To give you a few examples: If you offer tools on your site you should have a /tools folder, if you have a portfolio you should have a /portfolio/example#1 If you are going to have a /blog you can use it for tips and stories, and then you can use the root folder for something more universal like root/whyisseoimportant
Whichever way you choose to set up your site navigation will be fine, but try to make it easy for customers to understand.

Hi, I have a large WordPress blog with thousands of posts. By default, the blog homepage contains the excerpt of each posts. As there are so many posts, the homepage is paginated(Totally 1341 pages) I use siteliner to check and find a lot of duplicate contents on the blog homepage. So, what should I do with it? Is using a H1 tag in a logo image bad for SEO?
We have brand logos on certain pages that have H1 tags in them - the H1 text being the brand's name, as this is what we'd want the title of the page to be. The logos are at the top of the page instead of a written title. But is this the best option for SEO? Do search engines value H1 tags in images as highly as a standard H1 tag?Would it be better for SEO to add an alt tag to the logo and add a separate H1 tag on the page that's also the name of the brand?

Blogger.com with an RSS Feed or on-site blog?
I have a client who uses blogger.com as their blogging platform, however this isn't helping to build the depth of their domain. They like to use this because it is easier for them than to create a blog post in their wordpress website. I am wondering if adding a feed to their site on a dedicated blog page would help SEO at all or would it be best to teach them how to use the wordpress CMS to blog? I was thinking that by adding the feed since it is their original content that it might have a similar effect. I know this is probably simple but I want to see what the moz community says. Thanks.

Duplicate Content: Snippets from Blog on Website
Our company has a website and a blog, each on a separate domain. On our website's home page, we include snippets from some of our blog posts and links to such posts. The snippets include the same photo, title, and first line or so of text. We have been told and am concerned that search engines will categorize this as duplicate content. Home Page Optimization For Wordpress Blog
Hi, I'm developing a wordpress site and currently confused over home page optimization. I'm planning to use excerpts of posts on home page so that users can glance over all recent posts and at same time avoid content duplication. But I'm not sure how to optimize the home page for couple of targeted keywords . How can i make sure that there is enough content, proper H1, title tag etc on home page for target keywords even by using excerpts of different posts on home page with Read more links to complete posts?
