Tools to Eval Blog Content - Rate your Fav tool
-
Ok, so I know that is has been covered in depth and at the risk of being sent to “google it!” (Which I have done with no success) I thought that I would ask your opinions on the topic.
What are the best content marketing evaluation tools? By this I am specifically referring to tools that evaluate the content of Blogs, etc and not the performance of the blog, etc.
I’m eager to hear your thoughts of what works and if you care to share what tools did not.
Thanks

I agree with EGOL here but if you want content evaluated and the best way is to put it out there through social and other forums for people to give you feedback. I got some really great feedback from this forum for example on my site recenly that I have been working on since nearly every day.
Tools generally only take you to a certain point. If you are at the early stages of writing content and are reluctant to put it out in the main stream then use your email address book and ask for feedback on a few links from friends and if they are good friends they will help with some feedback.
But ultimately it is the market that gives the best feedback and needs you to pump it out bit by bit. Copyblogger says write , then write some more then write some more again [paraphrased here a bit]

Content is evaluated, one-visitor-at-a-time.
What I think is gold you might think is crap.
Content that is successful for traffic stream "A"... might fail completely with traffic from source "B".

Duplicate Blog Content
Hey Mozzers! I have a client who is a dentist, with multiple offices, and wants to use an identical blog post (including images, alt text, text, tags, everything pretty much) from one of his office's website on his other office's website to save time and mimic the success of the original content for his other office. Everything I've researched says this is a HUGE no-no, but I'd love to hear if anyone else has tried to do something like this and if they were successful in doing so (implementing rel=cannonical or 301?). Also, if he is the owner of both sites and they both receive low traffic will Google even notice? My biggest worry is that if I did post the content on his other site, identically, that it would dilute the visibility of the original post, which has and is continuing to surpass our organic search goals... The main goal though, is to drive traffic to BOTH sites via organic search using the same content. Would love to hear everyone's opinions if this is possible or unrealistic... Thanks! -D

When Somebody Copies your content What should you do?
I wrote an article in 2011 A Brief History of Benjamin Moore Paint on my website ( I am a painting contractor). It is a content creators win; sited as an authoritative article on wikipedia. Benjamin Moore Paint company has copied my content on their own corporate website; a deep page. Is this hurting, helping, or neutral? bX1kFQg,639HqZE bX1kFQg,639HqZE#1

How long should a quality blog post be?
How long should a "quality" blog post be? General advice seems to be that a 300 word post just won't cut it, but advice on the optimum length is vague. I appreciate that all posts are different but is there a rule of thumb, is 1000 words good and 1500 too long...or should they are all aim to be 2000 words? Also with regards to pictures in blogs, can they just be taken from the web or are there sites that I should be using to source the pictures? Thanks

Should we be using a blog for news
Our domain has/had a blog on a seperate subdomain. However we were a little slack in always keeping this up to date when we are particularly busy. Rather than reinstating the blog, I have been adding all our new articles directly onto the website rather than as blog posts. Is there any advantage from an SEO perspective to posting articles to a blog rather than as content on a site?

Sourcing content and images for Office Interior Design Blog
Im currently building a blog on Wordpress, and I will be blogging about Office Interior Designs. When I look at my competition they have some great blog posts about office interior designs and I have no idea about how they get: a) The ideas to blog about, how do they find out about these office interior designs b) how they get the content for them, how do they know what to write about each one, do they need permission etc, c) if i am interested in doing a blog on the same office interior design as them, how can I get information )and permission from the company that done the office interior design) on the office interior design so i can blog about it and also how do i get the images and stuff. an example is http://www.officedesignblog.com/invensys-rail-office-concept/726/ I would like to cover this aswell, as i think my future readers would like to know about this. how did they get the images, and the information about the project so they could write a blog post about it? And how would I go about doing the same thing?

What's the best blogging platform?
I've always used Wordpress without really giving it much thought, but I'm open to trying out a different platform for a new blog. Can anyone give me some advantages or reasons to move to a different platform? Thanks!
