Which is best structure for Multiple XML Sitemap?

I have read such a great blog posts on Multiple XML Sitemaps on following websites before a week.
I have created multiple XML sitemaps for my eCommerce website with following structure and submitted to Google webmaster tools.
http://www.vistastores.com/main_sitemap.xml
http://www.vistastores.com/products_sitemap.xml
But, I am not satisfy with my second XML sitemap because it contain more than 7K+ product page URLs and looks like very slow crawling by Google!
I want to separate my XML sitemap with following structure.
With Root Level Category
http://www.vistastores.com/outdoor_sitemap.xml
http://www.vistastores.com/furniture_sitemap.xml
http://www.vistastores.com/kitchen_dining_sitemap.xml
http://www.vistastores.com/home_decor_sitemap.xml
OR::: End Level Category
http://www.vistastores.com/table_lamps_sitemap.xml
http://www.vistastores.com/floor_lamps_sitemap.xml
.
.
.
.
.
.
. etc....
So, Which is best structure for Multiple XML Sitemap?

I have developed multiple XML site maps for my eCommerce website (Lamps Lighting and More) and submitted to Google webmaster tools. You can see attached image to know more about it.
I measured that, Google is not crawling effectively after it. Please, check image and let me know regarding issue.

I think you already gave the answer yourself. That would be a great strategy in my opinion. Then you also will directly see what is working on your product page (for Google) and what is not. So you are able to optimize even better for the rest of your product(page)s.

I am thinking on same way. If I will create individual XML sitemap for my Table Lamps category so help me more to focus more on specific category.
If any category will not index by Google so I can focus more on quality of product pages.
What you think about it?

Hi,
Great question, we had the same question a year ago when we started to work with sitemaps for our products. I cannot give you the answer which is the best, but I would recommend for now the end level category for your sitemap structure.
This will give you more useful insights in the crawling and indexation of your product urls, filtered at an end level category level. So that you can see for example that you're table lamps are better indexed than the floor lamps, which will make your data more actionable then at the root level category level. So you could for example, move your linkbuilding activities to another end level category.
By choosing the root level category it looks like to me you only separate the amount of urls you submit to Google and you still have to dig even harder to find the information you need or would like to see. That is also why you probably created the categories, to make searching for your users more usable instead of giving them an overview of 7000 courses.
You also thought about using a sitemap index file? This could be useful to keep track of all your sitemaps and makes submitting your sitemaps, in this case, a lot easier.
But I definitely would like to read more comments!

The site has about 100.000 pages and with this change the number of URLs may go up to over 350.000 pages.
Until now google is indexing well our site but I would like to prevent the "sorting URLS" leading to less complete crawling of our core pages, especially since we are planning further huge expansion of pages soon. Best sitemap generator that can automatically create and submit
I like screamingfrog but they don't automatically generate and submit to google. We use xml-sitemaps.org but they don't have all the functions and they crawl slow too. Can you recommend some good sitemap generator that is fast, with features and can automatically create and submit? Is inspyder good?

Sort term product pages and fast indexing - XML sitemaps be updated daily, weekly, etc?
Hi everyone, I am currently working on a website that the XML sitemap is set to update weekly. Our client has requested that this be changed to daily. The real issue is that the website creates short term product pages (10-20 days) and then the product page URL's go 404. So the real problem is quick indexing not daily vs weekly sitemap. I suspect that daily vs weekly sitemaps may help solve the indexing time but does not completely solve the problem. So my question for you is how can I improve indexing time on this project? The real problem is how to get the product pages indexed and ranking before the 404 page shows u?. . Here are some of my initial thoughts and background on the project. Product pages are only available for 10 to 20 days (Auction site).Once the auction on the product ends the URL goes 404. If the pages only exist for 10 to 20 days (404 shows up when the auction is over), this sucks for SEO for several reasons (BTW I was called onto the project as the SEO specialist after the project and site were completed). Reason 1 - It is highly unlikely that the product pages will rank (positions 1 -5) since the site has a very low Domain Authority) and by the time Google indexes the link the auction is over therefore the user sees a 404. Possible solution 1 - all products have authorship from a "trustworthy" author therefore the indexing time improves. Possible solution 2 - Incorporate G+ posts for each product to improve indexing time. There is still a ranking issue here since the site has a low DA. The product might appear but at the bottom of page 2 or 1..etc. Any other ideas? From what I understand, even though sitemaps are fed to Google on a weekly or daily basis this does not mean that Google indexes them right away (please confirm). Best case scenario - Google indexes the links every day (totally unrealistic in my opinion), URL shows up on page 1 or 2 of Google and slowly start to move up. By the time the product ranks in the first 5 positions the auction is over and therefore the user sees a 404. I do think that a sitemap updated daily is better for this project than weekly but I would like to hear the communities opinion. Thanks

When migrating website platforms but keeping the domain name how best do we add the new site to google webmaster tools? Best redirect practices?
We are moving from BigCommerce to Shopify but maintaining our domain name and need to make sure that all links redirect to their corresponding links. We understand the nature of 301s and are fine with that, but when it comes to adding the site to google webmaster tools, not losing link juice and the change of address tool we are kind of lost. Interlinking multiple websites
Most websites (for example) Zalando intern link there other CC tld domains to the root. For example: On http://www.zalando.nl/damesschoenen-pumps/ the links in the footer go to the other CC tld's: http://www.zalando.es , zalando.co.uk etc. Does anyone have experience with the fact if you would interlink to the relevant page on the other CC tld;s.

Embrace your audience with quality feature rich articles on your products or services, hints and tips, how to, etc. So you build your article page with all the correct criteria; Long Tail Keyword or phrases hitting the URL, heading, 1st sentance, etc. My question is this

Let's say you have 30 articles, where would you place the 30 articles for SEO purposes and user experiences. My thought are:
1] on the home page create a column with a clear heading "Useful articles" and populate the column with links to all 30 articles.
or
2] throughout your website create link references to the articles as part of natural information flow.
or

One Business-Multiple Services
Hello Everyone, I was looking for some strategies for doing SEO on a site that offers multiple services. Here is the example: There is one company with ONE physical address. They perform the following services: Pest Control Mold Remediation Home Inspections Waterproofing They also handle these services in several surronding cities. They want to maintain one website for branding purposes. How often to resubmit updated sitemap?
Hello Forum, I am working with an eCommerce website (not huge, a site with ~300 products and a blog that is updated every few days) that occasionally adds new products and may make a few large edits per week, if that. Our CMS can automatically generate and submit our sitemap. Over what time interval is should we do this for? Daily, weekly, monthly, etc? Thanks!
