Are the Volume numbers from the Keyword Difficulty Tool identical to Google Adwords Keyword Tool?

I use the Keyword Difficulty Tool daily. Because of the troubles with Google's API I can no longer see the search volumes. I still want to use the tool for difficulty numbers because I think this is a much better number than the Google Adwords Competitive bar.
If I use the Adwords keyword tool for volume numbers, will that be sufficient? Is this the same as what Moz usually provides? If no, where is the best place to gather volume numbers?

I think, a part of, the answer to your question is in the FAQ of the Keyword Difficulty Tool, the search volume data for keywords is collected from the Keyword Tool via the Google AdWords API ( ). So the data within the Keyword Difficulty Tool should be the same as in the Google Adwords Keyword Tool. We tested this a couple of months ago and from my own experience I can say that it is matching, but hopefully there is somebody around from the SEOmoz team to confirm your question.

How do I do keyword research when search volume is unknown
Hi Mozzers! I do a lot of work in niche areas, and one issue I often confront in keyword research is unknown search volume. That is, I'll be doing keyword research in Keyword Explorer or Gooogle Search Console, and for the most relevant keywords, I find either very low search volumes, null search volumes, or "Data not available." Using Adwords to determine effective SEO keywords
Hello, My name is Mitchell and I'm new to the MOZ community and to the SEO field. I just recently launched an e-commerce website that sells refurbished laptops and computers and I have been researching ways to bring traffic and sales to our website. I understand that the first step to building an effective SEO campaign is to determine effective keywords to build from: targeted traffic + good volume.I've used several online tools to find relevant keywords and it appears that most of the relevant keywords are already Highly competitive and the first 2 Google pages are usually taken over by big name brands.I understand that I need to find low competition long tail keywords and start my way up from there.Assuming that I find 5-10 long tail keywords with low competition and decent search volume, here are my questions:- Should I test these long tail keywords with Google Adwords to find out if they convert well BEFORE I optimize my website for them?- Since I will be having several different long tail keywords, do I need to have a separate webpage on my site for each? (I believe that it's suggested to have one page per keyword, maximum 2)- If yes, does that mean that each long tail keyword needs to have it's own back links to bring in traffic?- Should I optimize my homepage for a long tail keyword as well? or should I optimize it for the more broader keywords and create sub-pages for the long tail keywords?- One of my site's main products is a very popular item and has high competition and search volume. Would it make sense to purchase a domain name that spells out the item (ej. HP-Pavillion-DV6.com) and publish reviews, specs and information about the item there (using a blogging service like Tumbler or Wordpress)? Or redirect the domain name to a page on my site with that information? Or just create a page on my site with that information and create back-links to it? Why does Google adwords tool shows different search volume
I am not able to undertand the difference in search volume for same keyword under different heading. Let me make it clear. When i enter "Drupal Developement" in adwords tool, at the top, it shows Search term (1) Keyword Global monthly searches drupal development 390 Just below, it shows, Keyword ideas (100) Keyword Global monthly searches drupal development 40,500 I have selected the location U.S. My question is there is a huge difference in 390 and 40,500. Which is correct ?

Hi, can anybody tell me if it is useful to optimize the following keyword in all 3 Versions?

As I know google separates the 2 words as if using a hyphen - so it would be the same as if just using a space between the words.
But if you search for the different Versions in google there are different SERPS for every of this versions? Not many users will search using a hyphen between the words I guess - butt I saw some few keywords tipped in with hyphen in my google analytics report.
