Excessive Internal Linking...But it's a product page. What to do?

A few of our companies sites' product pages have the warning about excessive internal links. But these pages are product pages (for example). Should we be worried about this warning? Are there ways to avoid it? Or is it just the nature of the beast...? Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure; I didn't design the site and only came on to the project recently. Do you mean (for example) how the 3×2-39″ H is hyperlinked but there is also a "view details" button?

I would not be concerned. There is no hard rule as to number of links, the SEOmoz tools reports it as such but dont believe it. If it makes sense for navigation for your users and isn't crazily over the top, then it will be fine
Btw why wouldn't you use a single "view 2x3 details" button instead of putting each link twice?

This is a tough one that I too have to deal with when it comes to ecommerce. Here are a couple of thoughts that I implemented to avoid warning issues (too many internal links and duplicate information).
1. Change your navigation, perhaps start with Call Center Cubicles as your primary nav button with a drop down or dynamic links that are by configuration. This way, the customer is taken directly to that cubicle and size;
2. Have one page conveying the call center cubicles - which has some keyword rich content. Then, show the images of various cubicles (slide show) and at download Quote button have a drop down of the various sizes to choose from which will allow the purchaser to choose. If they see the initial picture, they don't necessarily need to see the image of what they bought - if they already saw it in your images. BTW, if you alt tag each image - make each image unique. (Don't use Call Center Cubicle 3X2.extenstion, Call Center Cubicle 5X2.extension). Try something like C1_3X2.img, C2_4X2.img, etc. Or something creative.
I had the same problem with a e-commerce company that has a primary product that comes in a variety of colors, they wanted the product to be shown in every color - they were getting pinged for duplicate content because they were using the same product name and image over and over but, just adding the color in the description.
Remember you have a primary product - you can be creative in how it comes - size, color, etc...use that information to populate basic elements such as drop-down, radio buttons, check boxes. They are important for the order but, not necessarily important from a SEO perspective.
For the owners, CMO recommend to goal of the site is to keep it light, fast and engaging for the customer - when they can point and click what they want, it assures them that they will get what they expect.

Duplicate content? - Ecommerce reviews loading the same products on every page
Hello there! I use a plugin on my ecom site that shows customer reviews - not product reviews but general shopping experience reviews. The plugin also loads links and short descriptions of products those customers bought. Having installed it site-wide, on every page there are short descriptions of the same products. Of course, as people leave new reviews the content changes (but it doesn't happen very often). So the question is: Is having links and short descriptions of the same products on every page harmful for SEO in this case? I'd be grateful for any insight into this matter.

What's better for SEO a page per review or a page with all reviews?
Was wondering what's better for SEO. We have a platform where consumers can read and write reviews. But the question is: is it better to give one page per company with all the reviews on it? Or should we have different pages for the specific company? Example: Itunes has a company page with all reviews on the page, but not the whole review. You have to click further to view the whole review (new page), at the moment this the current situation. What if we place the whole reviews on the company page, so you don't have specific pages for the reviews? Hopefully can someone help us out. Google Doesn't Display A Right Page Title
For some reason Google Displays a wrong page title of some of my pages. E.g. page http://www.imoney.my/home-loan The title in the search reach results says "Home Loan - iMoney", but the one I've set up is <title></span><span class="webkit-html-tag">Housing Loan: Compare Mortgages of All Malaysian Banks @iMoney.my</span><span class="webkit-html-tag"></title> Even when I preview it on the preview tool, it shows the full title, but when I google - again the short one. Does anyone know what the reason for that is?

I have a client where every page has over 100 links
Some links are in the main navigation (it has a secondary and tertiary level) and some links are repeated in the left navigation. Every page has over 100 links if crawled. From a practical standpoint, would you (a) delete the 3rd-level links (or at least argue for that) or (b) rel='nofollow' them? From a usability standpoint, this setup works as they are almost one click from everything. From a crawl standpoint, I see some pages missed in google (the sitemap has over 200 links). Looking for the best on-page current SEO advice to set these guys on the road to success.

Different page for each product colour?
Hi Guys, I've just read an ecommerce article that suggests it's a good idea to have a different page for each colour that the product comes in. However surely this will mean duplicate content? What are your thoughts? Have you put this tactic into motion and how did it go? Thanks, Dan

If you sell a range of products say 3 at the most, all on their own pages, is it ok to link to the other products within the range from each page? I have tried this and it eventually leads back to the same page is this a good, bad or doesn't really matter thing? Also is the anchor text still important?

Can my amount of internal linking seem spammy ?
Ecommerce site. I am optimizing for each producer of products on a separate page. Atm my provider does lack some functions(i cant put in H1 , title and can put text only product pictures) on the product pages - like here http://www.epleskrinet.no/smafolk/M_23 . The are updating within 1-2 months to allow me do this. This has led to actually some of the products themself ranking higher that the producer page. what Ive been doing is to put anchor text and link back to the producer page for all 9 products on this page. Is that a problem or should i just do it like this ? thanks
