Does the open site explorer crawler crawl FB?
-
That is to say, where there are links on public FB pages, such as those on my own company's public profile to my company's website---can the crawler detect these, or is it simply not bothering to crawl FB because so much is private? I don't see any links from FB in the crawl results, and don't believe I ever have, even for very large brands' domains.

Thanks Ryan for the great answer! We do have the new social features in Open SIte Explorer that display the Facebook shares, collected from their FQL API.
We are also in development of a new tool in the PRO app offering Social Analytics metrics. Here is Rand's blog post about it!
Hope that helps, but let me know if you have any more questions!
Thanks,
Carin

OSE just added new social features to track Facebook shares and likes, tweets and +1s. Facebook has blocked Google from crawling any of their stuff, and a lot of it takes place behind the login firewall anyway - hence, Google+. Bing and Facebook have an agreement in place whereby you can see shares and likes from friends in Bing SERPs.

Open Graph/Twitter Cards
Hi Guys, Quick question is there any benefit/point in setting up FB Open Graph and Twitter Cards for sites which don't have the tags but have social sharing buttons which correctly display the social snippets/descriptions Example: http://tinyurl.com/jaowtkd The page has social sharing buttons at the bottom, which show a description for Twitter.

Blog posts to G+ and FB?
Hi, I was wondering if we should be taking our blog posts and also putting them on social sites as well such as G+ and FB? If so, does content need to change to avoid a duplicate issue and if so is there a "rule" of sorts in terms of how much to change the content up? I was just wondering since we are already taking the time to put together these "stories" on our blog if our other channels would benefit as well?

When with Google+ bio area backlinks get devalued if we have everybody link to our site
Hello, As you know, Google+ bios, if they have a link in them are dofollow. I'm doing a link building campaign, and we already linked one of our Google+ pages to our home page and top 2 articles. My question is, to get links, can we have family and friends add links in their bios too for a total of 6 links to the home page (6 people) and some links to our articles? Or will Google devalue them because we are family and friends? How many is too many? Thanks.

Tracking FB views
This is somewhat off-topic, but this seems like a good place to ask. Has anyone used a script/code/3rd party service that allows you to track who has viewed your profile?

Can You Aggregate Likes from Pages on Your Site to Your Homepage?
I think the Facebook widget is great for social proof if you have a lot of people who like you. (the widget that shows faces of people who like you) Let's say that you create a resource that gets 100 likes. Do those "Likes" only count at the page level or can they be aggregated into a total "Likes" count that you can show on your home page and on the Facebook widget? Or are "Likes" in the Facebook widget only for people who like your Facebook page? (not those who "Like" your site).

Is it ok to have 'Authors' that write content for multiple sites even if in the same industry?
Hi all, I have a client that has 2 websites (different brands) in the same industry. I have encouraged them to become authors when writing content for each respective website and hook up their Google+ profile to the posts. Is this detrimental for SEO if they are writing for both sites? Or is it in fact a positive thing? Looking forward to your thoughts on this!! Thanks, Elias
