How can I get ranking keys of competitors

Sometimes it might be clever to analyse the stategy of a competitor to see with which keys they rank successfully. For example I have a webshop, so I type in amazon.com and seomoz spits out: books, dvds, ... I can now see with what keys i wont have a chance and can think of missing keys where my chance might be. Is there a possibility to find out with seomoz?

Check their keyword metatags and titles... the keyword listed there are the ones they want to rank for. Then launch a rank checker to see how they perform.

both great tools. SEOmoz has a ton of tools as well.. if you setup campaigns, you can also add competitors and track their wins / fails as well.

The term extractor tool is very useful, and I use semrush.com if I want to check what a competitor ranks highest for.

Not sure if this is part of the PRO package or available to all, but http://www.seomoz.org/term-extractor and the Keyword Difficulty Tool are both helpful.
A shameless plug for SEOmoz here is I have never regretted having the pro membership.

Keyword Ranking History Chart
The attached image shows the Keyword Ranking History with big downward spirals on Aug 27 and Sep 24th. Yet it's also showing up within the #10-#20 row. Does anyone know why some keyword rankings go from nowhere in the top 50 to ranking 1st to then nowhere in the top 50 in the space of 3 weeks?
SEOMOZ told me to ask the question here because they say their ranking programme now works correctly and the problems I was having before with keywords changing so dramatically, even though nothing had been changed with regards to optmisation, is now to do with google rather than their ranking tool do google really change their algorithms on a weekly basis so that rankings can go up by more than 50 to ranking 1st to then going down by more than 50? Any hints or tips from anyone on I can keep the rankings more consistent (maybe dropping or increasing by one or two places week by week rather than changing by over 50 positions?)

I want to find out what keywords a site is ranking for. In other words, I want to find out how Google is currently seeing a site. I've used Google KW tool - not very accurate when you simply type in the URL. Is there anything in SEOMoz I can use? New to this. thanks

Do SEOmoz private questions get answered?
I submitted a question on September 30 and never received a response. I then followed up on October 6 and had an exchange with the support staff, who first told me that the question would be answered and then a couple of days later told me that they had no record of the question. By chance, I had taken a screen shot showing confirmation that the question had been sent (just something I did to remind myself to follow up if I didn't get a response!), which I sent to them along with the question again. That was four days ago, and I've heard nothing since then - not even an automated email saying that the question was received. Is it common for it to take almost a month before a response is received, and to have to follow up multiple times just to get an answer?

Problem with Rankings and On-page Optimization
Hi SEOZ 🙂 I have a question regarding the Rankings and On-page Optimization in the seomoz Campaign Manager. I have setup a website url for examle: www.keyword.com After that created a list of all the target Keywords, that I want to reach within my Website: keyword-a, keyword-b, keyword-c and so on... Then I did a On-Page Analysis for all the urls with the specific keywords. keyword-a: www.keyword.com/keyword-a/ keyword-b: www.keyword.com/keyword-b/ keyword-c: www.keyword.com/keyword-c/ and so on... Most of the urls got the A grade. Now after the Website hast launched and got crawled, I have a problem with the Rankings and the On-page Optimization. The Rankings for my Keywords and also the Grades at the On-page Optimization are only shown for my Start/Homepage: www.keyword.com NOT for the urls that are specific for a Keyword for example: www.keyword.com/keyword-a/ Also the Grades are shown for the Keywords but again only in combination with my Start/Homepage www.keyword.com NOT for www.keyword.com/keyword-a/ What is the problem? Is the SEOMoz Rank Tracker still accurate?
I monitor several keywords on several domains and i have found that rank tracker gives me one result yet when searching via Google myself (on different machines) i get a different result. I've tried several devices on different networks so there is no chance that Google is remembering my searches as such and i ensure that i am always signed out of my account. All devices provide the same results yet Rank Tracker provides a completely different result. It's as though Rank Tracker is a day ahead or something. Can anyone shed any light for me please?

How can I change (specifically, decrease) the reporting/crawling frequency of the keyword ranking?
It always seem to compare the standings based on the week before, which confuses the issue when I'm only reporting monthly or quarterly. Is there currently (or might there be in the future) a way to set this so that the comparison is based on a time period that I specify?
