Here are a couple of SEOmoz blog posts about promoting your infographic and creating link bait that should help you with ideas.

Generally I'd say social promotion, but you could be more specific and target writers who have blogged or written on a similar subject in the past.

Thanks Much appreciated

I dont know if a press release on an infographic is necessarily the best way to get it out there. I'd recommend having high value content on an inforgraphic that is accessible to a large demographic.. then use champions in your industry to help promote it via social or partner websites. obviously if you could get inbound links from clients sites that would help exposure and inbound seo. Think social when you're contemplating about how to gain exposure with the infographic. see if news sites in your industry would be interested in blogging or featuring it along with fb twitter and + promotion.
If you have business cards or flyers, you can also use QR codes, etc. to help distribute the infographic via print

Loads of quality content but not getting links!! What should I do?
Hi I have been working hard and creating valuable content for 2 years now, we create a weekly news letter with around 10 articles and all our customers love it. But still we are unable to get links to our sites. There are no active bloggers or sites for our industry and content is highly technical and scientific. My competitors have thin content with bad links and they still rank better than us............. Please help me by answering the questions below - Should we start submissions to directories? If yes which directories should we submit to? What else can we do to build links?

What is the Best Way to Select a Company for Linkbuilding?
We need a few more links, who doesn't, and I've been looking at outsourcing it. Having checked out Moz posts to get an idea of best practice it seems that most link builders that responded to my Elance advert would give me links that would get me penalised either now or in the next update or two by Google. Leaving aside the frequent mentions of link wheels on potential SEOs sites, the main problem seems to be that I cannot believe that any content generated will be of any value to anyone other than as a pseudo contextual basis for the link "Bats are a flying mammal. They use sound waves to navigate. Sound is used in hearing aids. blah blah. blah." So how do you find decent link builders? How do you validate them? What are the key questions to ask? What are the red flags?

Still worth it to get listed on "resources" pages
Hello,
Link Building | | imcolej
I'm a new moz user who handles the online marketing for www.griefrecoverymethod.com. We provide grief support groups and 1-1 work as well as professional training for caregivers. We are on some websites as a grief resource, but not as many as I think we can be on. We have never attempted to reach out on a large scale to get added to sites. Is this type of link building worth a large campaign for us? Or has the ship sailed on link building with resource pages. I'm fairly new to all of this so any guidance at all would be appreciated. Thanks!0 -
For a new site, does it matter which sites I get back links from first? I.e., are the first back links more important than later ones?
I've heard that when a site is new, the sources from which it gets its first back links are very important -- that the early links are more important for ranking than later links. Is this true. If so, what would be some good places to get these very first links? Thanks.

Getting Many Links from Tumbler Question?
If I have 10 links coming from 10 Tumbler blogs.. Do they count as 10 linking domains or 1 linking domain coming from tumbler.com? Does the authority of links coming from tumbler decrease the more I get links from tumbler blogs? Thanks

Article Submission Best Practices
We are starting an article submission project for our company and had a very basic question. Will submitting the same article to different sites create any potential issues? If the article gets published on various sites, will this be considered duplicate content?

Pretty basic question on how best to start using open site Explorer
So I have spend around a month or so with on page optimization on 25 -30 or so pages and keywords/phrases, with some half decent results…still hoping there is more to come… I reckon now it’s time to look at getting more inbound links with Open site Explorer… Every time I look at it though I get a bit of a head ache…! Can anyone say or point me in the right direction how I should really start using Open site Explorer ? (I have the PRO tool) Thanks, sorry its such a simple question!
