What does it mean to ping you web 2.0 backlinks?
-
We know that a major backlinking strategy is to create web 2.0 articles linking to your main money site.
But these web 2.0 articles also need to be recognized by google, so people tell me I need to ping them? What does that mean?
-
Yes.
-
So in essence I need people linking to my web 2.0 articles?
-
I will share my understanding of the process and others can feel free to offer corrections if I go astray.
First, what is Web 2.0?
When Al Gore invented the internet, those times can now be referred to as Web 1.0. Websites offered information and that was it. Web 2.0 is a reference to the current internet practices where a website will offer information and allow users to respond. This practice is the driving force of blogs. An article is written and users respond to the article with relevant questions, adding additionally details and links, etc. This current environment is referred to as Web 2.0.
Next, what is a trackback?
Let's say you write a great article on the latest iPhone. Someone can read your article, like it and comment on it which would be Web 2.0 in action. The reader could also have their own website and write an article on which phones are on the market, and offer a reference to your article when the iPhone is mentioned. Since the writer appreciates your article they send a trackback. A trackback is an automated means of informing your site that someone created a link to your article. WordPress offers this feature.
What happens next depends on the configuration of each site. The site which sent a trackback could generate a link to your site automatically OR it can wait to create the link until after you have acknowledged the trackback with a ping.
On your side of things, you can choose to acknowledge the trackback with a ping or not. Also, you can choose to create a reciprocal link on not. You may decide anytime another site references your article you would like to share that information with your readers and link to the site. You may also decide for SEO or other reasons not to link back. It is up to you.

Web 2.0 Sites | Guinea Pig?
What do you guys think about creating quality pages on sites like Squidoo, with backlinks from that page leading to your website... and then ordering backlink building packages from SEO companies to build up those web 2.0 sites? My thoughts are that you would be able to get an idea on how good that SEO company is, while minimizing your risk (since their backlinks are going to a Squidoo page), and also increasing your site's authority at the same time (since those Squidoo links are going to your website). I'm sure this has been discussed before. But what is the general consensus on this strategy?

mozRank = 4,64
mozTrust = 5,69
Root domain links = 42
PageRank = 0 How should i interpret these stats? If or instance i'm optimizing for a car related website (a site about: car parts, car insurrance, classic cars), would these be a good place or a bad place to get links from (ignoring the benefits of direct traffic)? PA = 53 (very good) Vs. PR = 0 (very bad)?0 -
Web2.0 and private sites backlinks loop hole
Let suppose i have one target page i.e video and one web2.0 blog or wordpress blog. If i keep on adding new articles on web2.0 and in each article i add one back link(with different anchor text) to my same target page. Is this create red flag in google as i will be using one domain? Do I need to keep my web2.0 like bloggers.com and weebly or wordpress blogs relevant to one topic to increase the relevancy score. If i try to keep them relevant my back links to target pages from one domain increases again. I kind of stuck up in this loop help me out!

2 links going to same domain but different pages
Hi, How is the link juice distributed when you have 2 links in the same article but they go to different pages on the same domain? I know some say if 2 links go to the same page in an article then only the first link passes juice. Would it be better to have 2 articles each having 1 link or 2 articles each having 2 links?
