Can Anyone See What I am Missing, If anything at all?
-
Hi Mozzers
I have launched www.carbodypanels4u.co.uk 3 weeks ago, It's a website that sells aftermarket car body panels.
I want this website to rank on the first page for
"Body Panels" Postion 91 on google UK
"Car Body Panels" Position 33 Google UK
The above are the two main keywords for the home page and I'm pleased with the progress we have made in 3 weeks, however I want to ensure I havent missed anything?
Apart from Link Building, can anyone suggest anything else I can do on the website to improve my rankings.
I was thinking of making all the makes on the home page to Header 2 tags?

I am saying that you should link directly to the final page, as you have control over the links, being internal, save the link juice leak.
The 301's may be there for some other reason I dont know, but you dont want your internal links going though them

Thanks for your feeback, are you suggesting that these redirects should not be in place at al?

Thanks for your feeback, much appreciated.

I would make a blog that shows some of the car panels being used in restoration projects or repairs to build up a type of "fan" base. Like Kingsford does here http://www.grilling.com/sports/ , they have a blog type that does nothing but promote human interaction with their product. I go would add that as a separate site that links to your main one since cars are so popular. Good luck with your site friend!

You have a few link juice leaks thought un-nessasary 301's, every 301 leaks link juice.
This one occuers about 1,000 times that i found.
The link to "http://www.carbodypanels4u.co.uk/catalogsearch/result/" has resulted in HTTP redirection to "http://www.carbodypanels4u.co.uk/".thats a fair bit of leaking that should be going back to your home page
You also have over 1,000 images without alt text, get some keywords rich text in them.

I like many aspects of your site. Below are a few suggestions:
-
You list your phone hours but not a time zone. You list "Euro delivery" so it seems you service users in multiple countries. I know you are in England based on your URL but suggest you add the time zone anyway.
-
You have no trust symbols. You advertise "Safe secure shopping" and "100% secure" but those are just words, not anchor text. Any site can make those claims. How about showing Verisign SSL, TRUSTe Privacy, BBB or equivalent for business trust, Verified by Visa, MasterCard SecureCode, etc.
-
I understand you make body panels for most makes of cars, but there is nothing on your home page which talks about quality. Not even the slightest mention of the word "quality" or anything to offer potential customers any idea of the quality of your products.
-
there is no social integration visible on your home page. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.
-
there are no testimonials visible
As a visitor I know you sell car panels for various makes of automobiles. I also know you accept PayPal, credit cards and provide phone support M-F 9-5pm. That's it. I have no idea if you are the cheapest or most expensive provider of parts. I have no idea if you provide the highest or lowest quality of parts. I know you "provide a fast & reliable national delivery service that can also be tracked" but I have no real idea about your shipping. How many days is "fast" and how much does it cost?
Most of the basics of on-page SEO are in place. The white text on silver background may be a bit difficult to read, especially in the footer. I recommend raising the level of credibility for your site and trying to establish a better connection with your site's visitors.

Weird indexing problem - Can it be solved?
Hi Been building and optimising sites for 15 years and this is one of the hardest problems I ever came across. So any help would be very much appreciated. Here we go: For some mysterious reason this URL http://weekend.visitsweden.com/no/ has been indexed as http://weekend.visitsweden.com even if we tried all we can to correct it. The problem is that since the latter points to the first URL with a 301 it refuses to get any page rank. Also it does not get visible in Google at all. Just a recap of what we have tried so far: Add site to webmaster tools Add proper sitemap.xml Add 301 redirect to the correct URL An easy way to locate the problem is to search for the main content of the site. As you can see it returns the wrong URL and the correct URL does not even get listed. Again, any help is very much appreciated. Kind regards Fredrik

Can you Canonical to a URL in a different folder under the same domain?
I want to know if it's possible to add a canonical tag to a URL that points to a URL under a different folder. Content is just about the same. Here's an example (fake urls and product, but structure and parameters are similar to my client's website): domain.com/toy-ducks-results.aspx?color=Purple&model=Elvis domain.com/toy-ducks-details.aspx?color=Purple&model=Elvis&style=Sparkly Let's say that my purple Elvis ducks are really popular. Is there any harm in putting a rel=canonical on the Sparkly Elvis ducks page to the purple Elvis ducks page? Even though they are two different folders? /toy-ducks-results and /toy-ducks-details So, in effect, the preferred folder is /toy-ducks-results Thanks in advance for any help.

Is there some tool or person that can review my site and tell me what to improve on?
I'm using the SEO on page tool from this site but I get no help on how to fix the problem. I'm looking for the all in 1 tool that tells me everything about my site (description, keyword density, what to improve, what to add, what to remove, etc). If someone would be kind enough to review it for me, that would be great !

Can a domain rank for a competitive term with no links?
Hi, I know that this topic has received a lot of attention recently (Not all of it good) and I am not normally one to re-open a can of worms but the whole 'Camper Mens Shoes' fiasco has got me thinking. If you're not familiar with the story then you can get the highlights of it here - http://martinmacdonald.net/the-curios-case-of-camper-shoes/ My question is this - Say that you had a domain (Domain A) that was ranking well for a competitve keyword and that it had a good backlink profile. If you used rel="canonical" on every page of Domain A to point to a duplicate site on a different domain (Domain B) , would Domain B then rank well in place of Domain A? I know that this probably doesn't have much practical use but I am trying to get a better understanding of the effect of using rel="canonical" Would the result of doing the above mean that Domain B would rank well without having any links pointing directly to it?
