44 terms dropped out of the top 3 results on google this past week.
Can anyone take a look at the site and offer suggestions as to what I can do. My visibility went from 13% to 2% over the past two months.
I had 800 organic terms prior to this now I am falling off a cliff. Have no idea what happened. I just switched over to HTTPS 3 weeks ago and it has helped a little.

My visibility went from 14% to 3.33% this week. HTTPS Change?
So I am trying to figure out how my google rankings dropped from 3 to 9 This past week. Could it be the new HTTPS security issue? My site was created in HTTP not HTTPS. Is this an easy fix? Can I hire someone on this site to fix this?

New Flurry of thousands of bad links from 3 Spammy websites. Disavow?
I also discovered that a website www.prlog.ru put 32 links to my website. It is a russian site. It has a 32% spam score. Is that high? I think I need to disavow. Another spammy website link has spam score of 16% with with several thousand links. I added one link to the site medexplorer.com 6 years ago and it was fine. Now it has thousands of links. Should I disavow all three?

Rankings dropped 71% in Google and 65% on Mobile
My rankings just tanked big time. The only problems are #1 Canonical Tags #2 Missing H-1 Tags, #3 URL too long.
Are these high priority items now? I just lost a ton of page one rankings after very high rankings for the past 6 years.

RE: Viral Video :Best use - What to do with it?
Yep...I spoke with communicated with Wistia and they said that my 39 sec Video taken off my Android phone would cost $1,500 a month/plan for the viral video. (If it gets up to 2 million views) Which I believe it will. I really don't have $18K to spend for a link right now I guess. Sounds expensive when youtube posts it for free and pays me for ads.

Who can help me market a viral video ?
I have been contacted by TV stations, break.com, junkinmedia.com, rumble, com and many more groups taht want to market my video but I don't want to give away exlusive rights. I still want to be able to market it myself as well. Any consultants out there please email me a proposal or any suggestions on what I should do? I have already been referred to wisteria. com

So basically I just upload my video to their site with my business homepage link on the page and they distribute the video?

Viral Video :Best use - What to do with it?
So I was told that I have video that should be the next "viral video" in a particular vertical market. (It is an animal) Anyway I have 4 offers from different companies now that want to market it for me. Junkin Media, Rumble.com, Newsflare and Storyful. Junkin wants ownership in perpetuity the other groups want for 1 year to market to news agencies. They are offering 60/40 revenue split with me getting 60. plus an extra $1 per thousand hits on the video. Supposedly they will market it to for me to news agencies etc.
Anyway I was wondering if it would work best for me to market it myself and embed my business website link in the video for link juice on my home page. Then I can post the video in various places and the link strength might help my domain or page authority. Any suggestions about viral video use?

RE: Dash or vertical bar in titles?
My bad...I was thinking url's not title tags.
-
RE: Need Perfect URLs
You can't go wrong with the keywords in the URL's. But titles are very important too for sure. I definitely recommend key words in titles if relevant and organized.
-
RE: Need Perfect URLs
Not sure on #2 because I don't have a blog on my site yet but I would think the answer to number one would be to have he keyword closest to left. If you want you can also put the "services" afterward it seems if you wanted to get credit for that word too.
-
RE: Dash or vertical bar in titles?
I have seen that most responses to that questions over time have been the slash line that separates words in the title. Not a dash but the slated vertical line.

Suggestions for Conversion Rate Optimization low cost companies?
Does anyone have a list of suggestions for lower cost companies to do conversions. I am a new business and just wanted my "Cart" check out with maybe some suggestions for improvement and a little testing to see if it is done correctly.
Thank you,

How to get Yahoo visitors to my site
I get great traffic from Google but Yahoo is at about a 20 to 1 ratio on visitors.
Is there anything I should do to increase Yahoo traffic? I bought a Yahoo Directory listing about 3 months ago but it did no good.
Thanks,
Boo

RE: How to avoid seo loss after URL restructuring / change?
I think there is something you can do with the old and new sitemap that helps too. It is on this forum somewhere.

RE: Did anyone else notice a DA Drop this week?
My DA and PA both went down 1 point also.

RE: Page 1 Rankings, but not increase in traffic, contact form requests or calls
Long tail keywords on next level sub pages may have a big influence. Also work on optimizing conversions. Page one is okay but #1 and #2 are huge for traffic and #3 is okay. 4-6 not that great.

RE: Why am I not ranking in Google, but I am in Yahoo and Bing?
I am just the opposition. Ranking very good for Google but hardly not at all on Yahoo and Bing.

I would do it only for the most trusted of brand name directories - Yahoo!, Better Business Bureau, and maybe Best of the Web, but probably very little else.

RE: URL Importance In Search
One website with cities n url's for other pages is strongest I would think.
-
RE: How to get BackLinks?
You can buy 2-3 good premium directory links and it should help. Reputable links such as Yahoo.com, Business.com and BOTW.com are good if you are a new website.

RE: Canonical Tags?
Jake Madison mentioned this one time.
Any Redirect will lose value. A 301 loses a portion of your juice and a 302 gives you nothing. What the canonical tag does is redirect the authority of the page with the tag to the target page you want to hold the authority (usually the parent page, be it Root Domain, primary landing page or a subcategory page)
Google has a new fantastic tool I think everyone should know about called Google Tag Manager. It creates a container under the that you can fill with any tag, Google or non-Google tags. It is fantastic because you don't need your programer to go in and change anything and no need to access code. It gives the power to you to add and remove tags and define the parameters of each one you put in place. in addition it builds the tag for you if you aren't a code wizard. this makes the world of SEO and OSO shake due to the rainbows and sunshine of not having t bother your programer with little fixes like tag adding and removal.
I hope this helped!
Cheers!

RE: Canonical Tags?
Here is what my computer programmer told me...what do you think? (I was mistaken and thought the links were from our advanced search option but they are just links from other sites that are more authoritative than ours I guess. There's a few things here to address, I'm going to try to put it simply. If you want more details I can expound on it:
I think you aren't giving enough information here, and it could potentially cause people to give you bad advice. First off, URLs (generally speaking) aren't meant to be user friendly, unless the user is going to actually type it in. In your case, URLs with %20 in them are never meant to be typed, so it doesn't matter. Second, we don't supply URLs from the site using %20, so we can't do anything about those anyways. One possibility is that websites who are linking to yours have an algorithm that converts hyphens to spaces... and spaces get converted to %20 by many browsers and other internet services.
Second: Don't forget that when we first built the site, we didn't have the vanity URLs (the specialty names)... so the category links with the hyphens-turned-spaces-turned-%20 could very well just be happening because those pages are so much older than the vanity URLs, also, our outbound feeds used to use the old URLs too, so if we provided a feed to a site with those links, and they haven't bothered to update, then those links are still going to be out there. Google sees the links on your site, but they also see the links that come inbound from other sites, and that's why google still has the old URLs listed. The best way to fix this is to use the canonical meta link, to explain to google that the authoritative source is the vanity URL.

RE: Canonical Tags?
Takeshi,
If I no index my higher ranking search links then I will not be ranked as high in google because those will fall completely off right. Are you saying just noindex them...let them fall out of the rankings and then focus long term on getting the main pages ranked above the search pages in order to avoid panda penalties. (I didn't even know I was doing anything wrong)

Canonical Tags?
I read that Google will "honor" these tags if your website has two url's with duplicate content. The duplicate content does not show up in my SEOmoz crawls report but they do in the search engines and many of "non authoritative links" that are generated from my search feature j(ugly url's with % ...not real user friendly) are ranking higher than the "good URL" links.
So if I do the canonical tags I guess my higher ranking bad urls will drop. I even read that google might even completely overlook the links. I read somewhere that the best way to do this is with a 301 redirect...is that correct? I m ranking pretty good with my main keyword terms so I am afraid to make changes not knowing the effect. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Boo

RE: What our peoples list from from 1 to 10 the most important "on page" Factors
Wow the link is quite an analysis....thanks!

RE: What our peoples list from from 1 to 10 the most important "on page" Factors
Yep..."on page"...:) I see it now.
I think URL's with key words are second behind title tags. (The seem to show up strong. I will have to research all those other things....I have a lot of work to do!

RE: What Happened on the 17th?
My 2nd big key word dropped from #2 to 7-8 and now it is finally back up to two. I was so excited to reach #2...when the fall happened I just thought well time to start doing more SEO.

RE: What our peoples list from from 1 to 10 the most important "on page" Factors
I am still pretty new at this over the past year the 4 below have made a big difference for me.
#1 Links, Links, Links....Industry specific and .edu, gov and .org are good. Must be quality links.
#2 Exact word Domains or Partial word domains. (Has worked well for me)
#3 Title tags are big
#4 I think anchor text is pretty big too..not sure if that is the same as alt text.
I am sure Chris Kent knows more than I do but in my experience those 4 are pretty big and I am happy with my keyword rankings for my 1st year on the internet. I have a lot more to learn and hope that more people will answer. I had no idea that meta descriptions were that powerful. I will have to research that more.

RE: Worth removing keywords...?
I read somewhere that the meta keywords did matter for some search engines still like Yahoo but not for Google. Not sure where I read it...maybe I am mistaken though.

Can you find the "problem" metric or metrics?
I just dropped from #2 for my main keyword to #5 and am not sure why.
My companies Ranking Metrics compared to top 5
Page Authority:#2, MozRank:#1, MozTrust:#1, MT/MR:#1, Total Links: #1, Internal Links:#1, External Links: #1, Followed Links:#1, No Follow Links: #1, Linking Root Domains:#1, OnPageAnalysis Grade: "A", Broad Keyword usage: Yes, Broad keyword in document:

RE: Massive decreases in traffic
Those are huge decreases....looks like Google is controlling cash flow into businesses. I just fell from #2 to #5 for my main key term. I will have to start using their PPC.

Links on My website
I am looking to create some more trust on my website by subscribing to BBB. I have heard that my site is penalized and loses "link juice" if I place the BBB logo link in my page footer on every page of my website. Does anyone know how much I am penalized? Should I only put it on my conversion pages and maybe my main 10 sub pages?
My main goal is to assist in getting conversions but I don't want to do it at the expense of getting a penalty.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Boo

Canonical tags
How hard is it to put in Canonical tags on a webpage? My web guy didn't do it because he put in redirects in place for all old URLs and all content
(except error pages and advanced searches) should have a unique URL.By not having canonical tags does it lose link juice? Not sure if that question makes sense.

Link Building for "State" informational pages
I have a webpage for all 50 states for specific info relating to relocation and was wondering if there are any recommended links to work at getting for these pages. I would like to do "state" specific and possibly health related links for each page to help in the SEO rankings.
I can see that if I just wanted to get 10 links on each page that is going to be 500 links I have to build and it is going to be very time consuming but I feel it is necessary.
Thank you,

RE: Domain and Page authority dropped on home page
Hopefully we can find out what is going on. Not sure how my strongest links are not showing up. Alexa has me with 24 links.

Domain and Page authority dropped on home page
My two strongest links did not show up in the latest Open Site Explorer run. Business.com and BOTW.com...Linking domains went from 21 to 15.
Domain dropped 3 pts and Page authority dropped 3 pts I believe.
Is there a function in SEOmoz.org that lets you track your domain scores over time?
Thanks,
Boo
