RE: Will Google Also Penalize Desktop Rankings If Your Site is Not Mobile Friendly?
Hi Eric,
You've received some great responses here! All are spot-on (as far as one can be answering this question at this time, that is.) You may also be interested to know that Dr. Pete has answered this question here in the forum at http://moz.com/community/q/google-s-mobile-update-what-we-know-so-far-updated-3-25. He actually posted a Q&A of common questions about the mobile update, taking new questions in the discussion thread, and updating the original Q&A post as new information becomes available.

RE: Google's Mobile Update: What We Know So Far (Updated 3/25)
Dr. Pete, thanks so much for putting this Q&A together. I particularly love your no-nonsense answer to whether this will be a boost or a demotion (Q4). "...practically it doesn't matter that much and the difference can be very difficult to measure. If everyone gets moved to the front of the line except you, you're still at the back of the line." Well said!

RE: Google's Mobile Update: What We Know So Far (Updated 3/25)
Hi, Amanda! In the cases where you have identified the issue to be within a particular blog post, do the other pages on the same site pass the mobile-friendly test when you enter the URLs one at time? And are any of those same pages showing the mobile-friendly label in the mobile SERPs?

RE: Duplicate Blog pages across different domains
Hi Andrei,
I wholeheartedly agree with Ryan on this. When you say you have "3 separate blogs for 3 separate domains which are more or less identical", do you mean that the entire domains are nearly identical (which would be the case if these domains all stand-alone blogs.) Or is the content on each domain unique, with the exception of the blog? Let us know, thanks!

RE: One page sites
Hi there, thanks for your question! Speaking of questions, I have one of my own. What do you mean by "lower pages" when you ask "What is the best method to getting the lower pages indexed?" I am asking for clarification as you have a one-page site, which shouldn't have lower pages.

RE: What is the best way to learn google analytics?
I second Dirk's recommendation for Google Academy. I would definitely master the first two lessons in order, which will give you the skills you need to get started tracking the performance of your own website, and make use of the supplemental forums and videos for each course. Self-study is available year-round, and group study, facilitated by a Google staffer, is held a few times a year.
When I first started working with Google Analytics 7 or 8 years ago, I thought that Google Analytics was fairly intuitive, and most people could dive into it head-first (trial and error style.) However, I would not recommend anyone just getting started with GA today take that route.

RE: Content Rewriting and Page ranking
Ryan's advice is solid. I'd also keep a close eye on the page level metrics for these landing pages. If the copy is horrible, I'm guessing that most of your KPIs aren't great either. (My point being that high keyword traffics are great when they bring in qualified traffic that leads to conversions, but are no good to you if the traffic doesn't convert.) Best of luck!

RE: Yoast Wordpress
Hi Julio,
Robert and Thomas have linked to some excellent resources that are specific to on-page SEO for Wordpress. In addition to studying these resources, I would recommend learning about the fundamentals of SEO in a broader sense. Moz has many free educational resources for subscribers to increase their knowledge of SEO and all things marketing, including videos, written guides, and live Mozinars. I would start, however, with The Beginner's Guide to SEO and mastering Pro Analytics. Best of luck, and welcome to Moz!

RE: Client has moved to secured https webpages but non secured http pages are still being indexed in Google. Is this an issue
Hi, thanks for your questions! Don has provided some great advice. In addition, you should verify both the http and https versions of your site in Google Webmaster Tools, and configure each account according to Google's guidelines for webmasters at https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/6033085?hl=en&ref_topic=6033084. (You can also use GWT to tell Google your site has moved, denote the new site, remove old URLs, etc.) Hope that helps!
Christy
PS - To clarify what Don recommended on preventing duplicate content, it is best practice to 301 redirect URLs when moving from http to https (vs. using canonical tags).

RE: What happened to My website Meta description?
Hi there, thanks for your question! Monica is correct in that Google will pick snippets out of content when they feel it is more relevant to the search query than your meta description. In this case, you don't have any header tags, and I'm not sure where "teaser" is coming from, exactly, as you do not have any crawlable text on your home page. If you read the documentation Ryan linked too, though, it will confirm that Google can pull descriptions from many different sources, including references to it elsewhere on the web.
What I would do is thoroughly read the documentation Ryan linked to, and work on optimizing both your title tag and meta description according to Google's recommendations. Think about what would be most helpful to someone searching for your brand in the search engines.
Along those same lines, you may also want to consider using a different coming soon plugin, beefing up your placeholder content, and collecting email addresses for people interested in receiving an email when the new site launches — which could include a coupon, etc.
The plugin you are currently using is for new websites (not established sites temporarily down for a redesign), its text is not crawlable, and the content (displayed in a single image) is not very useful for human visitors, either. If this is an established site, I'd recommend looking into the Coming Soon Pro Plugin by SeedProd, which is more SEO friendly (including crawlable text) and reading up on the difference between its coming soon and maintenance modes.
Hope that helps!

RE: How do I optimize a website for SEO for a client that is using a subdirectory as a seperate website?
Hi! Thanks for your question. I am curious, why did you launch the "new site" in a subdirectory of the "old site"? Is the content in the subdirectory ("new site") different from the content on the rest of the domain ("old site")? Finally, if you are able to share the domain, that would be very helpful.

RE: Copying & Pasting the Moz Glossary onto my site.. is this white hat or black hat?
Hi Meaghan, happy to help! I was actually referring to Hutch 42's advice above, in this thread. (The anchor link to his response to your question is http://moz.com/community/q/copying-pasting-the-moz-glossary-onto-my-site-is-this-white-hat-or-black-hat#reply_270109.)

RE: Copying & Pasting the Moz Glossary onto my site.. is this white hat or black hat?
Hi there, thanks for your question. Yes, this would be a very bad idea. Duplicate content issues aside, copying content and passing it off as your own is plagiarism. This is unethical and violates copyright law. If you are interested in publishing someone else's work on your site, you are both legally and ethically obligated to obtain their permission to do so, and then properly attribute to work to the original creator if granted permission to republish it. Rather than going this route, however, your time would be better spent implementing Hutch42's advice. (That is, create your own authoritative content that will naturally earn links, show off your content creation skills, and rank in organic search engine results.) Best of luck!

RE: 2 accounts or one

RE: Alt image tags , shoud i reupload my site images as i never optimized right first time?
Yes, this is okay if the URLs for the images themselves don't have significant inbound links. (Just let them 404.) For any images that, do, however, have significant inbound links, I would 301 redirect the URL for the old image to the URL for the new image. (Notice I am saying image not page. Keep the URL for the page the image is embedded on the same.)
