I'd 301 redirects from the discontinued lines to the main section pages, so
https://www.domain.com/product-type/a-red-sweater
would redirect to
https://www.domain.com/product-type/
First I've come across this claim, all pages should contain the site name/ organisation name as well as the page name - example "How to blog | Site name"

It can take takes as little as 48 hours for google to take of a disavow file. after which it can still take weeks even months until google re-crawls the disavowed links and takes the disavow them into account.

The only bad SEO Practice regarding JS that I've of is trying to hide the JS files from Search Engines, apparently, Google needs to render a whole page as it indexing it; so blocking any JS (& CSS for that matter) isn't a good thing.

IMHO use meta descriptions to sell what's on the webpage, learn from the good Google Ads copy, including CTA's isn't necessary I personally focus on keyword insertion instead.
