If it's an updated article, then update the page, ensure that the URL remains the same though, clearly, the subject matter is in demand.

RE: We recently updated a large guide that takes the place of the original. The original has some nice organic traffic to it and I don't want to risk losing it. Should I 301 redirect to the new version, or update all the info directly on the original page?

RE: Why My Domain Authority Dropped
Hello Rishi,
Have you made any changes to the site?
DA is a concept proprietary to Moz, it was recently recalibrated which may explain the drop - https://moz.com/domain-authority-2.0

RE: How to deal with filter pages - Shopify
Hello, canonicalisation will suffice in this context.
-
RE: A number of times you should use your keyword in a guest blog
The quality of the copy is more important than the number of times that the keyword is used, I aim for a 3% keyword density; regardless of the purpose of the copy.

RE: Our Sites Organic Traffic Went Down Significantly After The June Core Algorithm Update, What Can I Do?
Hi there,
What efforts have you made to date?
Have you audited the site in more detail?
- Where the drops occurred via Search Console?
- What keywords dropped the most & when
- Audited your website to see if there are any technical issue?
- Conducted a backlink audit - do you acquire backlinks
You appear to lack the basics such as:
- meta-data
- alt tags
- substantial content, possibly due to the lack of a content strategy
25% by the end of the month doesn't sound realistic, an external agency probably won;t turn anything around in less than a few months.

RE: How do I delete, duplicate comments
Found it thanks, how I missed a big red button I'll ever know!

RE: Link building strategies
As bagia advised - you should target High DA sites, mix nofollow and dofollow link. The higher the DA the better the results will be; you'll rank higher quicker, but, lower DAs will get you a much more natural back link profile.
My only addition would be (whenever possible) to try connect to relevant sites, those in a similar industry as yours.
PR is OK if its genuine.
Directory submissions should be reserved for local SEO these days.

RE: Keywords in URL
Whilst targeted keyword URLs in is good practice, at this stage of the game I'd just stick to updating page copy, meta data, alt tags etc. Updating the URLS would require a large amount of affort, when you take getting 301s in to account, My advice woould be to create new a new URL structure as & when new products come on line

RE: Duplicate content in sidebar
Hello,
I'd say not, in the same sense that having a NAP in the websites footer doesn't have any negative effects on a website SEO ranking, in this specific content its the opposite
-
RE: A number of times you should use your keyword in a guest blog
Whatever works for you, at times some calculation of keyword density may be required to avoid overuse.
-
RE: Is this considered duplicate content?
Hello kekepeche,
- Citing your sources is good practice & you'll;l avoid aby potential penalisation.
- Google is clever enough to 'know' the original [older] content source
- Use regular links since you're citing the original authors
- If you can get your writer to rewrite some source content to make it 80%+original this would be better for your SEO campaigns as it's technically original content so will rank better - Though, take care as not to infringe copyright

RE: What website changes (technical) SEOs can ignore confidently? Google's perspective!
Hello,
Personally, I wouldn't ignore any SEO changes, I'd ask your SEO company to itemise the changes & provide a rationale for those updates.
I've recently had a client that lost all of thir DA & took a steep dive in organic traffic, as a result of another company's lack of attention to their SEO campaign management.

RE: Should I noindex WooCommerce subcategories?
I agree with effectdigital, keep them in.

RE: Query for paginated URLs - Shopify
My preference is to treat these types of pages as dynamic URLs & block them in the robots.txt
Disallow: /?
Disallow: /=But, since you can't do this in Shopify, then you need to manually add the code in to the pagination pages (somehow).
I got the HTML code from

RE: Miriam's 7 Local SEO Predictions for 2019
Great read Miriam, It'll be interesting to see how the social media landscape will actually change, people may leave Facebook, but _may _come back once the noise dies down; there is no real competition to them. Just like Bing & Google!

RE: Spam Score and You
Hi there, personally I only ever worry about SPAM scores over 80%, I don't consider SSL as an issue; especially for older links.
-
RE: How does Google handle fractions in titles?
Hello, out of interest why not just use the word "half"? I have a feeling that most people would use the word, not the fraction especially on a mobile device; where you'd be required to swap between the alphabetical & numerical keyboards.
-
RE: How important is it for a business name to be spelled consistently?
I've never known social media account names to be an SEO factor, as long as the business details such as business name, phone number, postal address, web address etc are consistent; you should be fine

When will Moz crawl a campaign to determine a sites DA?
-
RE: Should you aim for Google to use your meta tags?
Metadata is for conversion, not ranking. Personally, I prefer to
- use the meta title as the products/ page name
- create a meta description of up to 153 characters with the target keyword added
Focus on creating good page content, just in case Google decides to use it, instead of the metadata; as is the case sometimes.

RE: Amp plugins + Wordpress = speed, rankings, results
This was tried at my Agency a few months ago, it was a waste of time, in my opinion, unless you're running a News service.
I'd focus on optimising your site & upgrade your hosting solution.

RE: Why do SEO agencies ask for access to our Google Search Console and Google Tag Manager?
The simple answer I use in response to my clients is that GTM is for setting up more accurate tracking & Google Search Console (GSC) is for more accurate reporting.
For a more in-depth explanation, Moz has some useful articles
- https://moz.com/blog/an-introduction-to-google-tag-manager
- https://moz.com/blog/a-beginners-guide-to-the-google-search-console
Also, I recommend that you ask the agencies you're talking to what the track, measure & report on.

RE: Analytics no data
Hello,
In my experience, the best way to install Google Analytics is via the Yoast plugin, I recommend that you also add Google Search Console; the verification code can be also instaled via Yoast. As for installing Google Tag Manager, use the 'Insert Headers and Footers' plugin.

RE: Cleaning up Multi-Location Franchises for a Driving School
Hi there,
Hi there you can update multiple locations to one account - https://support.google.com/business/answer/3370250?hl=en
If you want to create & clean up GMB account for each franchise, then it's going to be a manual, laborious process.
It all depends on how the franchise owner wants to present themselves to the market.

RE: How to have H1 keywords on EVERY Page but not destroy user experience for holiday rental site
Hello,
You can make the H1 the simple useful page names, & use keywords in the H2 tags & page copy & image alt tags. Focus on writing for the user & then insert the keywords so that the copy reads well.

RE: Looking for list Pro's & Con's of removing Folder from URL?
There are no cons (that I can see) to losing the "/shop-by-department/" folder, the new URL structure you illustrated is better as it offers an opportunity to add pertinent keywords.
Just be sure you have your 301 redirects set up correctly.

RE: Google My Business -Choosing Multiple Categories
Hi, why not have 2 GMB profiles as they appear to have 2 distinct offerings.
If you must use one GMB profile then I don't see any issues applying 2 different categories, as long as they accurately reflect the company.
