RE: Referrals - How is it possible I have 5 new users and 100 sessions over a 2 week period?
Hi this could be also Spam traffic or aka ghost traffic. You can find it easily through Google Analytics. By simply, checking the hostname of these referrals. If the hostname these seems like wired or not set up this could be the case for sure.
In case of, How you can prevent them. It simply add a filter in your Google Analytics. Here is complate guide to set up and these filter: https://moz.com/blog/stop-ghost-spam-in-google-analytics-with-one-filter

RE: Is Keyword Explorer now providing search volume by country?
Yes it does provide search volume based on your selection( country wise) however, it dose not mean that the accuracy is 100%.
It can differ from slightly to a quite decent numbers. And you will have the same issue with almost every keyword tools available.
A good practice would be to get an idea from different tools ie SemRush.com, Google keyword planner. -
RE: My client wants to change domain name... Redirect help!

RE: My client wants to change domain name... Redirect help!
Hi
Just simply use 301 redirect to your new domain; this will bring you not only the traffic of your existing site as well as the backlinks and juice of those back links to your site.
I believe, this will behave in the same manner with plugins based links as well.Just make sure you follow the guidelines and you do it properly.

RE: Naked domain redirection info
The naked domain gives an extra room for your permalink to be more visible on SERPs thus making some extra keywords visible instead of being chopped off. So it has an SEO benefit for people who are habitual with creating long-tailed keywords inside permalinks.
If you think shorter is better, then the non-WWW approach will make you feel better. There are apparently no “technical” benefits to using the non-WWW approach, only that it reduces redundancy and is no longer needed. To be practical, it makes no drastic change whether to use a naked domain or domain with www as the sub-domain. A domain which is hosted at the root directory like www, is better remembered by people as a brand. People are habitual to recognizing websites with www extension and are observed browsing sites in address bar using the www extension most frequently.
The following advanatages you may get from it-
Ability to restrict cookies when using multiple subdomains.
-
Using the WWW hostname allows for easy segregation in the file tructure of your website.
-
More flexibility with DNS.
However, my preferrence is always to use WWW

RE: I would like to know why there are no links found, but there are about 300 links detected with other tools?
The reason is Moz index data is relatively small than any tools. This could be the reason. However, Moz index is getting there as they running quite big chunk of index now. Hopefully, it will not be long now

RE: Redirects affect on page and domain authority
The 301 redirect indicates that a web page has been moved from point A to point B, and tells the search engines that this page “moved permanently”. It also tells the search engines that all of the attendant qualities of the original page should be assigned to the new page. This includes PageRank, page authority, traffic values, and active link information.
Webmasters should use the 301 redirect if they have changed domains, or have launched their site on a new content management system with a new URL structure. A 301 redirect will tell the search engines to direct all ranking and value signals to the new URL, and that the new URL is now permanent.
Another important note and use of a 301 is in the canonicalization of your domain. I know, big word. But, all it means is that you pick either the www or non-www version of your site and make sure to 301 to the other.
This avoids duplicate content issues/penalties with Google’s Panda algorithm. Also, if your site is using a SSL certificate, it’s important to use page sculpting of the HTTPS and HTTP versions of your site’s pages.

RE: Domain Authority
It is due to latest Mozscape index on 22nd of June, this has result in drop in DA and PA. I also believe the index include fewer links or url which leads to this drop.it is likely, you've built additional quality/relevant links as you have mentioned, but with the smaller Index these new links, and even previously indexed links, are not being picked up. Therefore, less links are being used to calculate your domain authority score. I would say the drop in your Domain Authority is due to the size of the index.
you can see the update stream just here Mozscape

RE: Is it ok to use a mobile phone number for business listings?
I think you should refrain using mobile number in your local business listing however, Google dose not penalise you for such things. Google itself encourge business to use local phone number which link with business directly.
Here is detail guide for you to understand the why you should not use mobile number in local listing.

RE: Any second opinions as to why our organic search website traffic hasn't recovered from website rebrand (domain change, website redesign)?
In my opinion drop could be due to many reason, Its hard to tell without having look into Search Console and Analytics of your account however based on what we see regularly, majorly what you need to check whether you have received any Google penalty on old site in the past. Is your all valuable pages from old site redirecting to the new pages. Are your users having good and smooth journey.
Are you conducting any off page activity? It would be handy if you can leave URL of your site.

RE: How to obtain url for G+ review?
Hi Jonathan,
Here is the site you can use and can create a widget or link for your direct review page.
-
RE: Other service domain or suddomain or subfolder for domain
I reckon you use sub folder instead of subdomain. As subdomin is not suitable for this stype of site. Subdomain also be cosider is a seperate site.
-
RE: How to obtain url for G+ review?
Hi
yes Google give you option here is the guidelines.
Eligibility requirements
To get a custom URL, your account needs to be in good standing and meet a few other requirements.
- For Google My Business listings: Must be a verified local business
- For brand pages: Must be linked to a website that ends with a public suffix like .com, .gov, .org or .co.uk.
You’ll need to link to your website’s basic domain, which should look like this: www.example.com. Your website won’t be eligible if it includes any of the following:
| fragment | example.com/path |
| path | example.com/path |
| query | example.com/?query |
| subdomain | subdomain.example.com | -
RE: Custom HTML or WordPress, it's Time to Decide
Wordpress is a powerful piece of software that allows people with minimal knowledge of web design set up a web site fairly quickly. And for personal use it is unsurpassed. However, for business use you have to question whether it is a good choice to use software that is regularly hacked, offers slow performance and requires continual technical attention.
Remember that you are at the whim of other developers, not just for Wordpress itself but for each theme and plugin, who have no relationship with you, and certainly no obligation to you. You rely on them to write secure and professional code, when most of them write it as a hobby.
That’s before you consider that you will be forced to make compromises with the design and operation of the site. Your business is unique and your website should reflect that.
Unless the budget is exceptionally tight, it is often better to get a website developed properly at the start. A website is often the first (and potentially the last) thing people will see about your business. It’s therefore important, and more efficient in the long run to get it right first time!
I suggest you to read the following article it may help you to understand batter which one is batter for you.
My preferrence would be custom solution.

RE: URL Redirect
First of all, i think you can have more SEO and User friendly title upon on this redirect and your developer can easily control or insert the title by simple code, unless you want to keep it.
In regards to your question of implications, the only possible implication of this is title is not SEO friendly this can impect you in SERP.On this link you can see complete guide for title and tags.

RE: Google does not index image sitemap
The easiest way to test this is to manually create a sitemap with 100 or so 'clean' image URLs. Just pull the messy ones into excel and use the formula below to create a clean version (Use A1 for messy, B1 for formula).
=CONCATENATE("image:imageimage:lochttp://res.cloudinary.com/greenplantswap/image/upload/",RIGHT</image:loc></image:image>(A1,LEN(A1)-(FIND("",(SUBSTITUTE(A1,"/","",(IF(LEN(TRIM(A1))=0,0,LEN(TRIM(A1))-LEN(SUBSTITUTE(A1,"/",""))))))))),"")

RE: When, if ever, would you need to use: example.com/en
Well as Mark rightly said you only use language initials if your site is multi language. Moreover, for English site you never use such initials as it will not make any difference though kind of misleading by giving impression to visitors you may have this site in other languages and they are browsing English version of that. If visitor want to access site in other language then there is no option.
I would urge to you refrain of doing that unless you have multi language site. -
RE: Could you double check my new product markups?

RE: Optimising for Bing?
In Addition to Andy list there is another one Called SE Ranking which is quite useful and affordable for small comapings.
-
RE: Specific vs. Home Page Backlinks
Well...you should be target to get backlink to landing page on which you have product or topic itself. Ideally, from that landing page you link some internal pages to share the benefit of that page juice.
Hope it helps

RE: How to identify spammy website before making backlinks on them
Hi I would say to check few things if you're not sure is the site is spam or not. Mostly, the site impression, feel and looks say it as soon as you land on any site. However, there are possiblity you still remain unsure. I personally use the Google Chrome Plugin to see if the hostname are not suspicious or some wired name. I have MOZ bar plugin again to give domain overview, it also provide me DA and PA, which helps me to understand overall where is that domain stand.
Off course, these all primary elements helps to determin the site we are going to post content or aiming to get back link is not going to harm us anyway.

RE: Is content really king?
Hi
First of all, i would check traffic of those pages and engagement of visitors on those pages. If these pages have reasonable traffic and engagement then i would deal with them in the following way would not remove them though i would prefer to make changes to improve those pages.
If those pages has less traffic and but with anchor links on them, i would focus to improve by adding info-graphic or some other mode of media. Which can have potential to engage with visitors? Removing or using canonical tags would be the least option for me.

RE: Best Methods and Tools for Monitoring your Website's Backlinks
Hi
I would go for Ahrefs and Majsitc site Explorer along with Google Webmaster.
In my opinion, use of these would give you a snopysis of new and exsiting backlinks for your site. You can also try MOZ site explorer tool. However, this is relatively new and has less data than the other two.
-
RE: Duplicate content but different pages?
In mu opinion, i don't see any issue by having same title as you're changing the discription for each video that will cover up most. However, ideally, you may want to rephrase the title as well.

RE: URL structure change and xml sitemap
It's just your sitemap index file which is showing pending??
if that is the case then, All it needs to do is addup the values of your other sitemaps (which are referenced in the index file) and show the total stats next to it.Other than that you can submit your site to be index from GWT. See the guidelines here https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/6259634?hl=en

RE: Scoot local links
Hi
In my opinion, paid directories may not be a solution for you at all. However, Frankly, we have used them but they are not as good as they say. I rather suggest you to use MOZ local to have your business on all major directories. The benfit you will get is consitant with your business information. You can access Moz local from your profile area. This will help you to improve your local seo, furthermore, you can use most of directories from their list anyway without paying any one. Most of these sites gives you opportunity to have backlink as well as reviews on your landing page.

RE: Using Keyword Tool Results
I would go for landing page for each preferred keyword. We have run this experiment for few clients and it works really well. I urge you to have landing page for each top keyword and sue various variation of keyword to promote your page.
Note: Make sure your landing page experience should not be different than the main site. As this will play an imperative role init.
