RE: domain authority has not changed
Domain authority is the biggest scam in SEO. But unfortunately, I love to watch it increase.

RE: Is it more beneficial to use Yext rather than doing the citations manually?
Yext is a HUGE time save. Well worth it.

RE: Domain Masking SEO Impact
Depends on the CMS you use. Many CMS's can click a quick button to not index in Google search.
If that isnt an option, do it through a robots.txt file in webmaster tools.

RE: Huge drop in rankins, traffic and impressions after changing to CloudFlare
This can involve many factors
- Is the new website on a dedicated IP and SSL?
- Did all of the URLs stay the same?
- Did any new Link Farms or SPAM links get added?
- Was all of the content transferred? ALL
- Same meta data and internal linking as well?
- Did the client happen to change addresses?

RE: The New and Improved Domain Authority Is Here!
I am so unbelievably excited about this new DA algorithm! DA is used constantly in our never ending SEO practice. Would be appreciated if it updated on a consistent, anticipated basis, rather than every so often.

RE: Forwarding a .org domain to a .com domain: any negative impact to consider?
From my experience, it is very difficult / cannot forward a HTTP version to a HTTPS version.
I may have to defer to another SEO Pro about forwarding a lower DA to a higher. My educated guess...it doesnt matter. In Google's eyes its not technically considered a link.
It always amuses me when clients purchase multiple domains and want to forward them with dreams of larger traffic funnels. If a branded URL search isnt happening, traffic wont either. For brand protection, absolutely valuable. But when clients want to dominate the internet, this tactic is a pipe dream.

RE: Conversions tracking on another website
I am not the greatest resource in the affiliate marketing world, but have handles a few projects on the subject. In my experience, affiliate links do track conversions, and work similar to a UTM code. From my experience with setting up an affiliate store on Shopify, we utilized lead dyno and it worked well. From managing multiple vendors to keeping track of their behaviors and affiliate earnings. This is transparency.
The cross domain conversion tracking would work as well. This would involve your vendors placing a specific js code on their site...so, margin for error is higher. Unless you do it all. Either way, its A or B from my perspective.
Hope this helps!

RE: .Co Domains - Any thoughts?
This is the exact reason why I am hesitant to purchase and run with .CO domains. I would rather exercise all of my options to make a .com work rather than running with a .CO.

RE: Conversions tracking on another website
You need to setup Tag manager and track external links and setup GTM codes. But to measure conversion on another site, you will need to have your hands on that site as well.

RE: My Website's Home Page is Missing on Google SERP
I've had a similar problem years ago. Check to see if that page has a no-crawl or no-follow designation in your CMS. Hop on the page and hit a control+U, then find "follow".
Look for this: name="robots" content="INDEX,FOLLOW" />

RE: My homepage redirects to itself?
Yes, most likely it is redirecting from hhtp to https. Check your canonical's as well.

RE: Paginated Pages Which Shouldnt' Exist..
Nice website by the way. It looks very professional. And your 49 DA is very impressive.

RE: Titles being too long
HA! doesnt matter huh...
download SEO Quake as a chrome extension. Its great stuff. It will grade every page in detail, showing you how long titles and descriptions should be, as well as other metrics. big fan.

RE: Most useful things to do without developer resources on SEO
After a week of reading your posts, I would expect a better response.
My initial point was to focus on on-page content, by utilizing the diagnosis and keyword density tools on SEO Quake as one of my preferred tools without the use of developer tools.
As Matt Cutts stated in the video, there is a law of diminishing returns when dealing with keyword content. And absolutely there is. So, if there is a law of diminishing returns, there must also be a law of increasing returns. Correct?
I respect your opinion and appreciate your feedback. But not the type of feedback that puts down another person for their opinion. You make good points, but a weak argument on why the metric is flawed overall.
A better discussion would be how does too much keyword density effect Conversion Rate Optimization? Or how a keyword density tool differs from a TF-IDF calculation.
All in all, its been fun. Agree to disagree about pieces of you perspective. And I'm sure the feeling is mutual.

RE: Most useful things to do without developer resources on SEO
I appreciate your feedback Martin, and yes, as an SEO professional, I am constantly learning about SEO best practices. What I do not appreciate is your willingness to publicly shame me for a difference in opinion. That sir, is something you should correct. Last time I checked, I didn't see your name as the almighty resource for SEO.
"It's using the RIGHT metrics to decide what you're going for and how to prioritize certain areas of optimizations over another. But clearly you don't want to be convinced of that....good luck with keyword density. I hope the other people reading this topic at least don't take this for granted. "
As a comment to your statement, how do we find the "right metrics"? Do these metrics come from theories? A/B testing is real and the A comes from one opinion and the B comes from another. Yes, accurately researched data is concrete, but the samples come from differences in theory...AKA opinion.
However, your argument still has many holes. Your'e basically telling me, I can have a page up for snocones in phoenix, and not mention "snocones and/or phoenix on the page, but still be ranked #1 because of links? That's entirely incorrect.
This example is the point to my argument.
Keyword density isnt the one-stop-shop for great SEO ranking factors, but is does have a hand in on-page optimization. Or.....is that a myth as well?

The wonderful thing about SEO, is that every SEO expert can have a difference of opinion, and both can be correct.
