Is blogger could for building links
-
Hi i would like to know if blogger through google is a good way to build links and traffic. I have started to use blogger and would like to know if i am wasting my time using it for link building and traffic building for my main site
-
To be completely honest, I'd focus on the content on your site before building links to your site. I looked at a page about virtual gastric bands and the content did not appear natural or written for the user. The page I reviewed was quite long with the same phrases repeated over and over.
It doesn't matter how many links you have to a site or how many visitors you get if the visitor gets to your site and leaves right away because the content just doesn't meet their needs.
Focus your time and energy on just one main site for your practice, and make that site the best it can be. I fear you may be losing focus and trying to do too much, and letting some things slide (such as looking at the links page, you link out to sites that are hacked or no longer in existence or are under development; I don't know if they are all your sites, but I know at least some are).

Hi, the articles on there are articles i wrote but put them onto free article sites. i put them on the blog to see how it works and then i will be writing origianl content on there.
What i am looking at is, i have noticed that google picks up blogs in there blog news or when you type in a phrase into google blogs you get a load up so i was hoping that once i can work out how to make the blog look good that i can put original content on there and at the same time have links going to my site and also traffic.
I am not sure if this is worth my time or not, or if i should just put two paragraphs of the content on the blog and then have people read the rest on my site or just leave the blogging alone.
I am trying to explore new ways to get people to my site www.clairehegarty.co.uk

The content on the blogspot site appears to be identical to content on several other sites, so it's really not doing you any good. The search engines don't want to show users the page on five different URLs, so they're going to try to just pick the one best article.
My advice is to not spend your time creating duplicate articles on a blogspot domain, but instead spend that time making sure that your main domain has quality content that is written for the user, not for the search engine.

hi as i am new to blogging i have got myself a blogger account which is here
http://gastrichypnoband.blogspot.com/
To be honest i do not like it that much as there are no nice graphics that i can put anywhere and it seems limited to what i can do
but the idea is to try and promote it, well learn how to promote it and use it for articles that will not be on my site and generate interest to my site.
any advice on the best way to drive traffic to my site using this blogger would be good.
what i want is, for people to read the articles and then go to my site

Usually, if you're going to the trouble of creating quality content, you want to do so on your site and on a folder on your site (rather than a subdomain) if possible.
Which has more value to your site:
A page on a brand-new blogpost page that has no initial ranking, sending a link and maybe a visitor or two to your website
or
A page on your own site that already has some ranking, which will attract the visitor to your own site.
You want to build up the ranking on the site that you own and control, not stash little bits of it everywhere with free hosting plans.
-
Yes you could,
I have mine on a subdomain, http://blog.perthseocompany.com.au/
I cant point you to one right now. but there is millions
-
so say if i had a blog on my account and i was writing lots of different blogs, could i add a link each time to my site.
do you please have an example of a blog with a website
-
Well of cause it would. if you get a link to it, you get the link juice. I think your hoster is thinking what is best for him.
This is what I would do, it may not suit you, I would get a PC and instal IIS web server(free with windows 7) on it, and host your own website and blog, the cost of the pc would soon be covered by saving on hosting costs and bother of not having direct access to your site.
Or at least get a new hoster where you have very good control.
I work on windows servers and adding a blog to your web site with IIS takes lessd than 5 minutes. there is some very cheap hosters where you can get all this functionaly for $10 a month, discount asp is one.

i like the sound of this alan, can you explain about joining a blog to my site. i did ask my hosting company about this but they said that i would be wasting my time as it would not bring me any extra juice to my site but then i have heard people say it does. would love to learn more

you could always pass a few links to your site, but you would need to promote your blog first so your not really getting anywhere.
What i would do is add a blog to your main site or a subdomain of your main site. you can then shape your jink juice with internal linking and any links you attract will help your main site also.

How do we build rank on a domain with an offsite blog?
We have a site (domain y) that we'd like to integrate a blog into but our team doesn't have the bandwidth to do this. So, we've been exploring the option of building the blog in WP and hosting on a separate domain (domain x) and redirecting from domain y to it. My concern is how this affects or undermines rank value on domain y (effectively all the value from the blog resides on the blog domain x). How might we go about integrating an offsite blog into the core domain while maintaining search value? Is there a way? Thanks!

On our site by mistake some wrong links were entered and google crawled them. We have fixed those links. But they still show up in Not Found Errors. Should we just mark them as fixed? Or what is the best way to deal with them?
Some parameter was not sent. So the link was read as : null/city, null/country instead cityname/city

No crawl code for pages of helpful links vs. no follow code on each link?
Our college website has many "owners" who want pages of "helpful links" resulting in a large number of outbound links. If we add code to the pages to prevent them from being crawled, will that be just as effective as making every individual link no follow?

How to control link flow on a webshop
I am looking for a best practice link structure for a webshop. Say you run a webshop where the front page should rank for 1-2 keywords and then there are 5-10 categories which are more popular and has a higher profit than the remaining 20-50 categories. Will it be wise to let the 20-50 categories link to the 5-10 more profitable categories if possible or should the structure just treat all the categories as equal and hence not let any link juice flow from the less profitable categories up to the more profitable categories. I hope the question is clear enough. Also if you could share any thoughts on how you structure your webshops it would be great. Thanks in advance.
