Link value
-
Hi
I have some links from blogs to our ecom website. My question is if anyone knows what happens if you have several different blogs on .blogspot linking in to you. Does that make them loose value because they are on the same domain? I can probably quite easily have 5-10 blogs on blogspot all with PA of 35-40 link in to us. Is it worth striving for or should i strive to get blogs that have their own domain to link into us instead ? Or equally important ?

Oh absolutely - not only blogs. I am starting to struggle though to come up with ideas as to which places to "aquire" links from. There are tons of catalogues but i am afraid to just add 10 of them at a time also.

It is for sure that the second link's value taht you get from a certain blog is slightly less than the first links value. First of all blogs are on a different subdomain. Subdomains are treated different than if you have links from more folders. Secondly, google owns the best engineers on Earth, i think they are quite are aware of the situation that a lot of blogs sit on the same root domain, however they have different owners. I personally did not do any tests according to this subject but this really has never been a question to me that these are treated as individual sites.

if the blogs are on different blogspot domains and they have seprate information than it will be fine.
Try and aim to acquire links from locations rather then just blogs

Hi Dan
There are potential pros and cons here:
Pro: those blogs on blogspot.com (Blogger) will be different sub-domains, e.g. example.blogspot.com and sample.blogspot.com Each one is treated as a seperate website, so they are essentially not on the same domain.
Con: a lot of blogs have NoFollow links by default, thus negating any link juice flowing out to your website.
So I wouldn't be concerned with a number of blogs all on blogspot pointing in to you. Though I would suggest ensuring that you have a healthy mix of Relevant good and high quality websites pointing to you on a variety of anchor text, best achieved by creating great content and distributing it well.
Also, check out a blog post published today on HubSpot entitled "The 8 Best Link-Building Tactics to Boost Off-Page SEO" questionable whether or not they are the best 8, though certainly some good ones there and it's worth a read.
Regards
Simon

Disavow links from legit sites but have spammy link profiles?
I'm currently doing a backlink audit for our site with a LOT of backlinks. Some of the linking sites are legitimate business websites in our industry who have linked to us for a totally legitimate reason (we have good content!). However, these businesses themselves have a spammy backlink profile—that is, the only sites linking to that site are obvious link farm sites. Here is an illustration: spammyseolinks.com; payforseo.xyz; blackhat.ru ==all link to==> legitbusiness.com ==links to==> mysite.com Should I disavow this backlink? I guess it's not really giving me much SEO worth since it surely been branded a spammy junk domain, but then again, it's a real website that we've earned a link from because we're doing stuff the right way. Is it hurting or helping me?

Are links from charities really better than 'normal' links.
Hi Guys. Just wondering about this idea that links from Charities are particularly good. I've heard people say that links from .org sites are particularly strong. But anyone can get a .org domain, it's just that charities tend to use them more often. Right? I just don't get the logic. Can anyone give more detail about this? Is it a myth? Is there quality info on this topic I can check out? We're working with several charities at the moment, and they all seem happy to blog and link to us...so I just wanted to know a little more. Isaac.

Value of a .edu or .gov link?
I am looking to hire a company to start a backlink campaign for me. In my search I have stumbled across one which essentially charges a good amount of money to secure backlinks on .edu and .gov sites ($500 per link). This would be in context links. This company is an SEOMOZ recommended company so I am thinking the links will be well earned and not simple paid for to the university as to prevent future issues. My question is, how can I put a value on these links for my website? Like lets says I have a DA of 1 right now, and I get one backlink with DA of 70 PA of 70, how will that effect my DA? How can I quantify how many .edu .gov links I will need before I start to place? I realize I will need some more mixed up there so it does not seem unnatural, but my business has a lot to do with universities and government entities. I am trying to figure out how I can calculate the value of these links to me

SEO Value Of Non-Indexed Links
I have a link built to a site, but it's not showing up in Open Site Explorer and doesn't appear to be indexed currently by Google. Does anyone know of any research done on SEO value if any on non-indexed links? Thanks

Too Many Links???
SEOMOZ is telling me I have more than 100 links on quite a few of my pages, and I cant seem to find out what links they are finding. Like for instance on this page http://standupguys.biz/what-we-haul/commercial-junk-removal-services/computer-removal-recycling/ It is telling me that I have 117 hyper links (which is WAY too high). Can anyone explain to me where these are coming from, and how I can avoid this?? Please and thank you.

Do people think it is worth setting up a twylah.com page? Does it have value in adding link juice and content from our tweets?
I have seen the site www.twylah.com which produces a permanent page of your tweets for your fans or search engines to see. Has anyone experimented with this, and does it provide benefits, or is it just another distraction I should stear clear off. Any advice, thoughts or discussion appreciated.

How do we measure our link strategy?
We're new to link strategy and would really appreciate any help anyone can give us. We are inviting the top food bloggers (aka "linkerati") in the country to visit and hopefully share web content with us. What we don't know is how to measure the results of this... Does anyone have any suggestions, or perhaps a "dashboard" that they could show us to give us some ideas? All help gratefully received!
