Multi-language on multiple domain
-
Hi,
One of my clients has a big duplicate content issue on his site.
He has two domain, on for each language (FR and EN) but each domain propose the two languages! Meaning you can reach every page with two URL.
Example:
http://www.brand-realestate.com/en/luxury/index.html (home page of the default site in english)
http://www.immobilier-brand.com/en/luxury/index.html (home page of the default site in french after clicking on the english link)Each of the two site has a default language and a link to the other one. When you click the link the page you are on just refresh and the URL stay the same with an added language parameter (ie:http://www.immobilier-brand.com/luxe/index.html?lang=english), then all the link in the navigation switch to the other language.
So my question is, is it better to:
- Keep the two domain and instead of having the two languages on each send the traffic to the domain which has the targeted language by default (on the right page of course)
- Have both language on one domain and redirect all the pages from the other domain to this one (each page to the corresponding one)
- Just add a canonical URL on each alternative version of each domain
Let me know if I'm clear.
Thanks for the help.

I'm afraid it doesn't.
I'm targeting Canada only and the big difference is that I already have two domains with history and authority.
What would be the best solution knowing that:
- My two domains contain an important keyword for their respective language
- I'd like to not loose the authority built
- The Creation of an other domain with .ca is out of the question

Language redirction causing 302 issues
Hi, I am getting an error on Moz campaign for 302 errors. The reason we have this redirection is because we have the website available in different languages and the website redirects to the language according to the area you are in. e.g. www.keyhub.com/en or www.keyhub.com/es I am guessing it might be a common issue for all the websites with multiple languages. Any solutions for this or should we just ignore this error? Thanks, Priyam

Multi-Locations Business Internet Presence
We are at a crossroad and it's time to decide which direction to travel. We had 4 physical locations represented by 3 websites, August 1st we now have 6 addresses and are going to redesign our websites. Heritage Printing .com is our primary and does very well in DC for printing & signage. Heritage Printing Charlotte .com does well in NC for signs. How would you proceed? Build 2 more websites for a total of 5: Heritage Custom Signs & Heritage Custom Signs DC .coms Build a unified site under Heritage Printing .com (w/ subdomains or locations folders) I fear losing our Internet Presence and Page Rank w/ Google by unifying but also fear fueling the ever growing fragmentation of our brand. FYI: We recently Trade Marked Heritage Printing & our logo So fellow Mozzers, what do you recommend and how would you proceed? TY in advance KJr

How do I create multiple page URLs that are optimized for location and keywords that may be overlapping or the same?
Hi guys, I am attempting to create unique URLs for several different pages on a website. Let's say hypothetically that this is a website for a chain of Ice Cream Shops in Missouri. Let's say they have 15 locations in Springfield, Missouri. I would ideally like to optimize our Ice Cream Shop's in Springfield, Missouri with the main keyword (ice cream) but also the geo-specific location (Springfield), but we obviously can't have duplicate URLs for these 15 locations. We also have several secondary keywords, think things like: frozen yogurt or waffle cone that we can also use, although it would most likely be more powerful if we use the primary keyword. Any suggestions for how to go about doing this most effectively? Thanks!

How long is too long for domain URL length?
I noticed one of the negatively correlated ranking factors was length of URL. I'm building a page from scratch, we are trying to rank for 'Minneapolis Fitness' and 'Minneapolis Massage'. Is www.minnnepolismassageandfitness.com just ridiculously long? Or does the exact match outweigh the penalty for URL length?

How to go after a domain name when the whois info is incorrect.
I found a domain that I'd really like to buy. It's currently active but has just a single image on it (that links to an affiliate product). I'd like to see if the owner would like to sell it to me. But, when I emailed the address that's listed with the whois info it bounced back. Any ideas on how else I can buy this domain?
