Hi
I was just wondering if you guys knew of any You Tube Seminars / Events held in the UK. I cannot find anything anywhere.
Thanks
Adam

WOW Thank you so much Phil - Very Kind of you

So, for filming - i have heard good things about this course:
http://centralfilmschool.com/cinematography_intensive_short_course/
These guys also seem to do some nice short courses
http://www.londonfilmacademy.com
Have a look at this post for a n overview - http://www.distilled.net/blog/social-media/youtube/creating-awesome-videos-for-seo/
To learn editing - to be honest, i wouldn't bother going on a course. Just buy the software and plough through all the amazing tutorials on http://www.creativecow.net/ - you'll pick it up fast.
To learn YouTube SEO - firstly look at this post: http://www.distilled.net/blog/social-media/youtube/youtube-seo/
then this deck: http://www.slideshare.net/philnottingham/incorporating-video-into-your-link-building-strategy
There will probably be some YouTube content covered at this years LinkLove & Searchlove - http://www.distilled.net/events/
these meetups - http://www.socialmedialondon.co.uk/ will have people who know a lot about YT stuff.
I hope that's useful. Sorry i can't offer any specific YouTube content creation seminars - there seems to be a gap in the market there!
-
Any of the above really Phil, Thank you
-
Which of the following are you specifically looking to understand:
- filming good content and the creative process
- editing & uploading
- SEO for YouTube
I can't think of any good seminars that specifically cover YouTube as opposed to just general film and video creation, but may be able to point you in the right direction for some of the above

Hi Phil
seminars/conference that cover creating content for YouTube in the UK
thanks
Adam

Hey Adam,
I'm afraid i'm a bit confused by your question. Are you looking for seminars run by YouTube? Or just seminars/conference that cover creating content for YouTube?
Thanks,
Phil

Any tips for optimising for Local Search/Google Places
I have a client that used to come up on Google Places consistently for some very competitive keywords - when they ranked quite low for them through their normal website - places would see them above all the organic results in normally number 2 position - whereas they would rank between 16 - 26 normally We have optimised the site and have 'A' grade keywords for the ones we are interested in google placing for and just recently we are out of it all together, even though we have improved their optimisation for that word with SEO Someone said that their phone number on the website had to match perfectly with google places and so does their address. Is this true? Is there anything else that will help them keep their position in places ? ie. setting up a Google + page etc., Any advise would be appreciated thanks

Video SEO: Should I add Video Transcriptions to You Tube Videos Even with Google CC?
So, You Tube allows plenty of room from descriptions. I think 5,000 characters. Google does a poor Closed Caption of our audio. Should I also be adding accurate transcriptions to the description field in YouTube to help my Video SEO. What are the pro's cons and is it worth doing?

SEO for Explicit / Medical Pictures - Will It Hurt Rankings?
I have a client with page 1 rankings for several keywords. He wants to make some updates to his website. He is offering a new service and wants to show before and after photos of the procedure. He is an OB/GYN, so the before/after pictures are very explicit and have full nudity. How will this affect his rankings? Is there something that I can do to tell Google and other SE's that these photos are medical and not pornographic? Should I host them on another domain? Just looking for thoughts and insight. Thank you in advance!

Quick ways of finding out of date / inconsistent citations
Hi fellow mozzers! We are currently relaunching our website and are in the process of ensuring all our local citations are up to date and consistent. In doing so, I've noticed that there are still countless listings under our old address, which probably isn't doing our local rankings a whole world of good! I have been hunting these down by searching "company name" "old address" to bring up any references, but I wondered if there was a tool to find these quicker, in the same way Whitespark finds citation sources to begin with? Similarly, is there a tool that flags up listings that have the correct NAP info, but that has maybe been formatted differently enough so as to cause consistency probs? Thanks all!

Will linking to my citation sources help google recognize them / credit my places account?
Or does google treat this behavior the same way as a reciprocal link and discount any credibility of the citation?

Will linking to my citation sources help google recognize them / credit my places account?
Or will those sources be discounted by google then similar to how google discounts link exchanges? I have noticed some pages, like mapquest, don't really have a directory, so google might not be aware of their content unless it is linked too??? In this type of a case, would it help to link to mapquest's search results? then the citation will get picked up by google? Example: http://www.mapquest.com/?hk=6-i30tP49i

Multi-site listings in Google Local/Place pages
I've had problems with a client that is a local medical center with multiple sites/addresses. We've created a Place Page for each location and linked it to the location page on the client's website that matches the address on the Place page. But that means we're not linking to the medical center's home page -- and Google Places doesn't like that. I know this because after we'd owner-verified each Place Page, Google went in and just changed the website link that was a deep link to a location page and replaced it with a link to the home page. But now there's not an address match. How should we handle this? Related question: Does it make sense to claim a separate listing in Yelp and other local directories for each of the separate locations since they each have a unique address? Will Yelp & other local directories allow for links to non-home pages on the client's website?
