I understand that in addition to video sitemaps, a transcription of a video, if presented properly will help google and may help SEO. I cannot find information on the basics to add transcription properly to a page. Advice or direction appreciated.

Looking for guidance or information on the nuts and bolts of how to use transcriptions with video.

Learned a ton about video sitemaps. Still ignorant about practices when using transcription with video. Was it in there and I just missed it? Thanks for helping with sitemaps.

I think you were looking for info on a transcription? Here is the info for creating a transcription:
Add a time-coded transcript to each video file that you uploaded saved as a .txt file
The time of each segment should be listed in the following format: HH:MM:SS.mmm according to Google
HH: Hours starting at 00
MM: Minutes starting at 00
SS: Seconds starting at 00
mmm: Milliseconds starting at 000
Here's an example of how the time-coded transcript should appear:
7:36:40.000
Words said between 07:36:40.000 and 07:36:43.000
7:36:43.000
Words said between 07:36.43.000 and the next segment.
7:36:44.000
Words said at 07:36:44.000
Each timestamp is in relation to the start of the associated video file
Here is the link from Google specifically about transcription: http://www.google.com/video/upload/video_transcripts.html

Local SEO: Specific pointers on how to improve my campaign
Hello, I changed my address midstream in my campaign, from spelling out "Suite H" to now it's #H. Wow, what a cleanup job. I'm in at least 3 dozen directories I've found, and it looks like there are more. I'm adding myself to all the main directories that yext lists here. I've also used whitespark for a couple of months. My site is here. The term I'm targeting is "Boise Weight Loss. I"m on page 3 and not in the local results. Could you guys give me some pointers on how to get up into the top 3 of the local results? I'm planning on cleaning up and adding directories. I don't know how many I'll need, and of course I am looking for pointers on the other factors (besides citations) as well. Thanks!

What else cn we do to help other that writing a good quality description, use the customize options in youtube and then place the embed for the video on a content rich page about the subject. Ofcourse the keyword is in the first part of the title, and we use keywords as anchor text back to the video page. Also make sure it is in a good video sitemap? Other than that, what do you suggest? p-3VepAtpvk

A customer of mine brought up the point when visiting the store today, when they are logged into Google they can see their review under Your Activity, however when they are logged out the only review is listed under 1 Review from everyone and the review is no longer being shown? Any ideas on what is going on? Also with local search / places optimisation has the best practice guidelines changed now that is transformed into Google+ Local? If so it would be great to share any links on getting the most out of this new + local service

What are the best practices for Google Places for a manufacturer?
A manufacturing client has distributors around the world. Can I add these distributors to my client's Google Places account through the bulk upload feature? Is there a better way to ensure that people searching in the company's various territories see a Google Places entry for the appropriate distributor?

Embedded Video Sharing Count As Links?
I am considering using Wistia as a video platform to host video content I don't want listed on YouTube. One of the features they have (I bet they all do) is to allow other webmasters to embed the video on their site as well. If a webmaster embed's one of my Wistia videos on their site, do I get link juice? ...or is this only helpful to help spread branding?

As a whitehat SEO how do you manage in a highly competative market?
I have a competator that has literally hundreds of sites like this: http://www.wire-shelf.com/tag/cleaning/ that don't have a huge amount of page authority, but he is getting citations out of all of them. The site is obviously useless, and just a place for some SEO company to keep adding more links to their various clients, and creating google citations for them at the same time. Once you have filled out your information on every single local database and obtained all the legit citations you can, your competitors are still beating you by having more citations, from various sites like the one above. Is there any way to stay whitehat and actually succeed? or should i just follow suit, and make 100 crappy websites full of crap and put links in them. seems silly, but it seems like the only way to compete these days.
