Link exchange with nofollow bad for ranking?
-
Hi,
I wanted to give my EMD (Exact match domain) some more links and added it to some general start pages, just as my competitors did. The disadvantage of such link sites is that you have to add a link back to them.
So I created a new page in my footer "links" and added a link back to those who requested that. However, I made all links a nofollow because I don't want them to benefit from my rankings.
Those sites really have nothing to do with my subject and are just interested in a link to give them some boost I guess.
I'm sure not everybody like my approach, but my question is. Will those nofollow links on my page back to the ones that requested it affect my rankings?
Or should I remove the nofollow? Thanks!

Please note that those page that I want a link from are just "start pages". Better known as "directory sites". Those pages are very famous in the Netherlands and millions of people have it as their startpage when they start-up their browser.
So no weird or scammy sites here...

Linking back to them could potentially damage your rankings.
Many link-exchange setups also double as link-sellers, and most are not exactly subtle about it. As a result of this they can potentially become blacklisted by Google.
There's no way to definitively say whether or not a site has been blacklisted by Google, but if those sites have been blacklisted and then you link to them, you can get penalised. A hyperlink is like saying you endorse these guys.
Check to make sure they are not obviously selling links or doing anything really bad before you link to them. I learned all this the hard way myself
I'm not sure if 'nofollowing' your reciprocal link will protect you from penalisation. I have never tried that myself

Better to place linked-back article or post article and seek multiple links?
Which option is better for SEO purposes: 1. Author article for trade journal in return for link back to my home page. 2. Post article on my site and solicit links from multiple sites. Assume links all have moderate authority.

What does google think about legit link exchanges where one is follow and one is no follow?
Hi Experts! Here is my Question for you. I am doing a link exchange in a legit way to increase sales for my site and my associate's site. My associate just wants a sales increase and no link juice. He has a very low DA so I want to give him a no follow link. Is it suspicious of fishy that I give a no follow link and receive a followed link in return? Please let me know how to proceed, I don't want to take any changes. Can you tell me the best way to proceed with this link exchange? Thanks

If I disavow bad links on "disavow link webmaster" will they still show up on my moz reports?
We recently found out we have a lot of bad links linking back to our website from spam sites, I disavowed them through the google disavow link webmaster. On my moz report it still shows the links, is that normal?

Linking to the same sites from more than one of my sites, is this bad?
If I work for a company that has more than one website within the same industry and we have separate websites within that industry. An example would be: CarLoans.com HomeLoans.com & PersonalLoans.com The only difference from this example is that we are a B2B Company. My question is: is it bad to acquire links from the same external websites for multiple websites that we own and want to rank for? If I establish a relationship with Forbes or some other website and I can get links to several of our sites, will it ever be bad to link to all of our websites from this one website. I am asking not just for high domain authority website like Forbes, but also for websites that may have a DA in the 30's 40's and 50's as well. Thank you

Editorial links
http://www.wired.com/culture/lifestyle/news/1999/01/17484 how do you get a link from an article like this where the author writes for a high domain authority site and just ends up listing a lot of links to different companies?

Is it bad to insert links to other sites and use bold on keywords?
Hi, This is a question I always had doubt about, and would be very grateful in to know your opinions. Is it bad to link to other sites? Can this causes problems to my blog? I frequently insert links in keywords, etc, for other sites. Many times, for sites greater than mine, and I heard from some people that this is bad. Is this correct? In last days, I have used, in some links, the atribute "nofollow". This is good, or not? In a case, for example, when linking to Wikipedia, is it good to use "nofollow"? And about keywords: I'm mostly using bold on them. Is it good, or not? This subject always makes me think. I would be very grateful for any help. 🙂

Is it worth it to link to sites that link to you in guest posts?
Suppose you published a guest post on a quality site and you link to a previous guest post you have written for another site (which links to you). In theory you could send link juice to the page that links to you for a second order effect. Has anyone seen results from this tactic?

Why are none of my incoming links showing up in SEOmoz or Google? How do I get good legit incoming links?
There are hundreds of sites that are linking to my website, but nobody is showing it. Google wont display any when using link:eugenecomputergeeks.com, and in webmaster tools it only shows 46 incoming links. SEOmoz shows only 3 links. This just isn't so. Why is this? I DESPERATELY need valid incoming links from well ranked websites , and having lots of trouble getting them. Nobody in town with a well ranked site seems to want to do a link exchange, and I've already made the mistake of buying my way into directories, which didn't do anything good for my rankings. Thanks!
