A strange issue
-
We developed this website www.stevenprigge.com
When you search for STEVEN PRIGGE in google, the first listing you get is for www.stevenprigge.com, but when you click on it it takes you to some other website.
Can somebody tell me why is this happening?

Thanks for all the help Anton and Tommy. We were able to resolve the issues with help from both of you.

I'm getting the same issue.
The problem seems to be a "referer exploit". I found this on a Google Groups forum:
From Google Groups (http://groups.google.com/group/Google_Web_Search_Help-UsingWS/browse_thread/thread/2219b91fc28ecb51?pli=1)
_"This sounds like the "referer exploit" where web-sites are hacked and files, such as .htaccess have been modified. When trying to access specific sites through a link in search results, the redirect occurs. When typing the URL manually into the address bar, the redirect does not occur. _
_Here is a discussion on this from the Internet Storm Center: _

_These are discussions from Google Web Search Help: _

_And here is one from Ask Dave Taylor: _

_Hopefully, these documents will help you resolve the issue with your _
_web-site (and/or provide enough information for the web-hosting _
_provider to do so.) __Another user recently reported that it was necessary to scroll down _
_beyond the blank lines that had been inserted at the top of _
the .htaccess files, to find the code that was added. "Hope this helps.

Strange, I get to the page I click on, as expected.
Try and clean your cookies in the browser, then do the search + click again.

When I search for 'STEVEN PRIGGE' in google, the first two search results are for the website www.StevenPrigge.com and www.StevenPrigge.com/aboug/bio/ respecitively.
When I click on either of them, I get directed to a website http://monkeyball.osa.pl/?said=3333g&q=

Strange Traffic Movements
Hi there, I'm wondering if anyone can shed some light on this... I'm working with a client whose website is experiencing some odd organic traffic patterns. See screenshot attached. As you can see, there was a sudden cliff fall about a month ago, and then it recovered (almost) entirely. Then, a month to the day later, the same thing happened again. What is the likelihood that this is a data glitch vs an algorithm thing? Any light you can shed on this would be appreciated. Thanks,

GA traffic locations must be wrong? Most hits from a state we don't do business in!
I launched a website earlier this year. Very limited traffic, 200-300 a month. It is an info site for a specialized business. However, when I review my GA traffic reports, 20% of our traffic comes from one city in Virginia. (although the company does business in many states, it does not in Virginia) or anything close. The bounce rate is 97%! Could it be a web scraper or some kind of redirect?

Ways to Identify Popular Search Terms
Certain searches seem intuitively like they would be popular, but don't appear so in my keyword research on Moz Pro. For example, I am a therapist and would have guessed that a lot of people would be searching for "online therapy California" during this pandemic, but actually those terms are not popular. I looked at Google Trends to see if I could understand this better, but It wasn't very helpful. Any other suggestions for where to get more information when search terms you would expect to be high volume don't appear to be so?

Google not giving ranking to the intended page of my website.
Hello friends, This is my very first question, I hope I will explain my issue correctly. I have created two pages related to SSC CGL keyword on my website: https://www.ibtindia.com/ssc-cgl-notification-exam-date 2) https://www.ibtindia.com/ssc-cgl-apply-online I want to target the keyword SSC CGL Apply Online on the 2nd URL but Google is only considering the 1st page for all the "apply" related keywords as well. Can anyone suggest to me how to get the second page in rankings for its intended keywords? I will be very thankful for this help. I tried adding image but its showing dummy. Please you can check it op GOOGLE SERP Second page

Anyone facing issues with Google Analytics today?
For some reason all pages on our site seem to be taking ages to load as they seem to be getting stuck at the "waiting for google-analytics.com"! Anyone else facing similar issues today?

Strange traffic.
We are a norwegian bakeshop (sykkelkompaniet.no) and we have started getting a lot of direct traffic from Miami and Chico. Wondering why, and suspect that someone is trying to hack our system. Any suggestions? We have never been in Chico or in Miami... and we don't spend anything on marketing so far, furthermore we don't ship to the US. The traffic is about 800 unique hits a day.

Interesting keyword ranking issue
Hello Everybody, Thanks for taking the time to read this post. Without further ado, I'll jump straight to it: http://www.dataclinic.co.uk is the web site of a UK based data recovery company. Historically the site has always ranked well for popular data recovery keywords in the UK, with page 1 rankings for most things data recovery related. However, lately things seem to have changed for our most important phrase "data recovery". We noticed several months ago that Google had started to favour the page http://www.dataclinic.co.uk/data-recovery.htm instead of http://www.dataclinic.co.uk/ when a search for "data recovery" (and similar) was performed. This didn't concern us that much as our rankings remained good. However now, neither of these pages seems to be ranking well when a search for "data recovery" is performed (I gave up at Page 5 - who looks past there when searching?). I would appreciate your input on this please - especially about the following points: 1. Why have these two pages now seemingly disappeared from SERPS when a search for "data recovery" is performed ? 2. Why has Google chosen http://www.dataclinic.co.uk/data-recovery.htm rather than http://www.dataclinic.co.uk ? 3. Is this just something to do with UK results ? 4. Other sites I would expect NOT to see in the top results have started appearing - despite their link profiles etc remaining poor - perhaps Google is doing a bit of reorganisation with SERPS related to data recovery at the moment ? 5. And perhaps, most importantly - do you think we need to do anything about our current lack of visibility ?? As I mentioned, we've always ranked well, so these results are puzzling... Should search results revert "back to normal" in a day or so, or am I missing something and need to take action ?? Thanks for any input on this - we would be very grateful indeed for you help ! Kind Regards, Sue
