GA traffic locations must be wrong? Most hits from a state we don't do business in!
-
I launched a website earlier this year. Very limited traffic, 200-300 a month. It is an info site for a specialized business. However, when I review my GA traffic reports, 20% of our traffic comes from one city in Virginia. (although the company does business in many states, it does not in Virginia) or anything close. The bounce rate is 97%! Could it be a web scraper or some kind of redirect?

It seems like the traffic locations in Google Analytics might be incorrect. We're receiving a significant number of hits from a state where we don't conduct business.

@bakergraphix_yahoo-com unless the same GA tracking code/tag is on the duplicate website or it has links to your domain, then might not be the case. A couple of things to check before confirming though. Do see if the traffic is from direct or organic. Also do see if GSC provides any insights into how popular your website is in the particular city in Virginia.

Organic traffic down
My 15 or so clients have all seen a drop in organic traffic by about 20% on GA4 for April. Rankings have not dropped or anything like that - so just wondering if anyone else has had similar?

GA4 account & property not showing in traffic property setup list.
Hi there, I've connected multiple client accounts to GA4 already, but three of our accounts that we have administrator rights to in GA4 are not showing up in our selectable accounts/properties list when logged in via Moz to add to the traffic settings area. Anyone else have this issue and find a fix?

Unsolved Problems connecting to different Google Analytics property
I am having problems connecting to different Google Analytics property than the one I originally connected my campaign to. I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting to the correct property however 'traffic data' shown is not updating and is still showing data from the original property that i connected to? Can anyone help explain how i can get the data showing in 'traffic' section to update to the current Analytics property that is connected to the campaign? Many thanks.

Unsolved I have a "click rate juice" question would like to know.
Hello I have a "click rate juice" question would like to know. For example. I created a noindex site for a few days event purposes. Using a random domain like this: event.example.com. Expecting 5000+ clicks per day. Is it possible to gain some traffic juice from this event website domain "example.com" to my other main site "main.com" but without exposing its URL. Thought about using 301 redirecting "example.com" to "main.com". But it will reveal the example-b.com to the general public if someone visits the domain "example.com". Also thought about using a canonical URL, but it would not be working because the event site is noindex. or it would not matter at all 🤔 Wondering if there is a thing like this to gain some traffic juice for another domain? Thanks

Does sending ecom traffic away from a site impact rankings?
I have a client that represents a few big brands but doesn't offer ecommerce capability onsite, they essentially send traffic to retailers and distributors that do sell their products online - they even point to an amazon store that they own. My question is, if they did offer ecom and the conversions took place on their site, rather than direct traffic away from them, would this impact on their rankings at all?

Frustrated With Trying to Validate Business Ideas
Hi Everyone, thanks for having me, glad to be here. So... Basically, in trying to validate business ideas by looking at search data... I don't understand how the results could be what they are. Ok to be more specific, I wanted to create a course about hit songwriting and music production... I've seen books on Songwriting with 200 - 500 reviews on Amazon, and I've seen some websites that have digital products even more niched down than this, who seem to be doing VERY well. The search data on the other hand, says that most songwriting / music production related searches are quite low. Like Songwriting might be really high, but then it's a steep drop off after that. Additionally; looking at SimilarWeb at those 'competitors' I was looking at... they're getting lots of organic traffic but they don't rank for any obvious songwriting / production words... Like the search is telling me: Nobody wants to learn songwriting ... nobody wants to learn music production.. the search data implies I'd be wasting my time making anything like that. And yet...how can this be true? There are literally schools where people learn songwriting and music production, and so how is nobody searching out this stuff? What's happening here? Any ideas? Just confused. . interested what you guys think.

Isn't Buzzsumo Just A Measure Of Advertising Budget?
Hello, I see Buzzsumo being widely touted as a great way of seeing what other people are writing on a niche topic to give an indication of what is performing well according to the number of social media shares. Is this a good metric considering that any proportion of the shares could be paid for or secondary to advertising? I have looked at some of the sharers and often there is no data logged, or only a few listed. I see that often the longer posts have more shares; if I had written a 7000 word post I would be more likely to push it harder on social media and spend more promoting it, I wonder if this is skewing the data also. Thanks for your opinions on this. Toby

What is wrong with my campaign?
I have two campaigns one named BL and another named EBL. The one named EBL is working perfectly, and the way it should, I assume. However, BL is acting very strange, it shows 16,219 pages crawled which BL website has only 1,700 products so it's not possible for the campaign to have 16,219 pages seen by the robot. Here is what happened. We have had several issues with our server. First we received a report of the server that more than 3,000 503 errors have been noticed by Google. So we moved the website to another server, after a while for some reason our website had duplicate products. So instead of the link being /Mens-leather-vest it was /Mens-leather-vest-1020 which is a redirect of the original product. So we removed all products and redid all title tags, meta etc. However, now that when Moz crawls the website it still sees those errors, and duplicates that don't exist anymore. We finished fixing everything last week, and this Monday was a new crawl cycle for moz, and I thought that it will not show the old errors but it is still showing those old errors. Any idea what might be causing it or how I can fix this? Website - www.bikerleather.com Magento 1.7
