How to target local searches?
-
How do I start to target a national audiences? I currently get most of my hits from The US and Australia? But I see no reason why I don't get vies in Canada and The UK.
-
Well when you say local are you looking for people who are searching "service keyword canada". For example "best dentist in canada" or something like that?
Having pages built out by location is going to be key opposed to just trying to write content on one page. But the trade off is you do not want to just write poor content for the sake of building out pages. You need to come up with a strategy that makes sense. So I will use the dentist example above. Say you are a website that talks about the best healthcare by region.
You would make a page per location and highlight businesses. Top paragraph would be an h1 for the city/area plus the service and then have a paragraph of unique content about it. Each business could be a page and link back to the main page. Also maybe writing about news in blog posts in the area and using more internal linking will be key (not using exact match anchor text all the time but something that just makes sense).

Ways to Identify Popular Search Terms
Certain searches seem intuitively like they would be popular, but don't appear so in my keyword research on Moz Pro. For example, I am a therapist and would have guessed that a lot of people would be searching for "online therapy California" during this pandemic, but actually those terms are not popular. I looked at Google Trends to see if I could understand this better, but It wasn't very helpful. Any other suggestions for where to get more information when search terms you would expect to be high volume don't appear to be so?

Export Google Search Results
I would like to export a list of pages indexed by Google and other search engines. According to our site search with google, we have over 300,000 pages indexed. Anyway to export a list of all of these pages? Tools like ScreamingFrog (which I own a copy of) can crawl your site but does not tell you the pages indexed by a search engine... I've tried using tools that will let you export each page of the results. However, this won't work for a 300K page website. Thanks for your help!

Drop in Android organic search
Hay Moz Community, I have been analysing traffic fluctuations for a few websites and have found a noticeable drop in organic traffic from android devices. I initially thought it could be a generic mobile drop but iOS is holding its own? Can anyone share any insights they may have come across to explain the drop on android specifically. Thank you in advance

Geographic Targeting Feature
Inside Google Webmaster Tools is the Geographic target feature. Am I wise to change it from it's default setting ? The Geographic Targeting is a great feature that allows you to link your website to a particular location/country. It should be used only when a website targets to users from a particular country and when it does not really make sense to attract visitors from other countries. I have a site that ONLY is applicable to the UK. MY QUESTION Will I do more damage by setting the geographic location to UK, and so down grade my Google ranking in general. Or It's best to inconvenience none-UK geographical users and then NOT impact any google rankings holistically. I'm thinking of switching from the default webmaster geographical setting to the UK only. Good decision based on my site only being in the UK? Thanks in advance for any reply

How do you know if you have been penalized by search engines?
How do you know if you have been penalized by search engines? I logged into my Google and Bing webmaster accounts and all looks ok, but in the last 30 days, my organic traffic has decreased 33%. My traffic usually steadily increases and if there is ever a decrease, it's usually very small.
