Domain/page authority - how long does it take so see results ?

Im new to the SEO and link building world.
I have been building on my link building campaign over the last month or two but I am yet to see any changes in my domain/page authority. Is it because of the quality of the links, the directories I have been submitting in, webmasters maybe using "nofollow" tag ect. Or it generally just takes time to see the results? Is this even how domain/page authority is built. lol
Any information on the topic would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much Keri. Is there any information anywhere about how those metrics are calculated ?
e.g, I post 20 links in 20 different forums along with submitting to 20 directories and gaining links from 10 blogs/websites I will get 1 point in my domain or page authority.

The Page and Domain authority calculations are updated when Linkscape is update. Usually that's on a monthly basis, but it's been two months since the last update. The next update will be later this week, and you should see some metrics change then.

Puzzled by high ranking page (#2 in SERPs) with zero/low page or domain authority
So, I get the smoothie that is page authority and domain authority and the link metrics that Moz uses to predict how well a page will rank for a certain keyword. I can look at a specific search term where we are on say, page 2 or 3, with a page authority of 1 and domain authority of 26, I get why competitors rank above us. But then I look at a keyword that is much more competitive, where we rank #2, which is awesome, where the landing page is also showing a page authority of 1, and domain authority of 26. How can we rank higher than competitors with a page authority of 56 and domain authority of 65? Their onpage optimization for the keyword is no worse, and sometimes better that ours but we maintain this ranking. By the way the competition also have hundreds if not thousands more linking root domains than our page. Any ideas why one keyword is a rockstar and one is a dud, with the same poor PA and DA?

Reject a link from a not found page
Hello, I am writing because I have a question about link building. My page has got a link from this URL http://fundacionbanesto.com/ (PageRank 6) but I know that it no longer exists. Do you think it is negative for my site? Should I reject it? Thanks in advance.

Too many on page links
Hi i'm new to MOZ, after sacking my SEO consultant due to the penguin update. My site position isn't fantastic right now for my national and local search terms 😞 The first problem i have is tackling too many on page links. I understand it should be 100 or less, unless users would benefit more. Looking at my links i have up to 200 on page links (which i know are not beneficial or user friendly). If i give you an example this page has 208 links: http://www.drivejohnsons.co.uk/blog/page/3 Heres another one with 157 links: http://www.drivejohnsons.co.uk/author/admin/page/2 Here's one that isn't associated with my blog that has 188 links: http://www.drivejohnsons.co.uk/testimonials On average most pages excluding the blog have around 120 links per page and i know thats to do with my Nav Bar - which i will sort out. My question is: Because the majority of these high link pages are associated with my blog, will that affect my site SEO performance? If yes, does anyone have any suggestions as to how i can reduce the total links on each page within my blog? The more i blog, this number is only going to increase 😞 Im using wordpress. I was just wondering if any of these imports would help ? | Blogger | Install the Blogger importer to import posts, comments, and users from a Blogger blog. Blogroll | Install the blogroll importer to import links in OPML format. 1 page 2 keywords?
Hello folks, I have a problem with optimizing a page for 2 different keywords. Here is the situation: On-page: Both keywords in title; both words in body text (I didn't count them but approximately 3-4 times for 100 words in total) Off-page: Exact anchor text from article directories, Synonym & Brand anchors from directories. My link building shcedule is as inconsistent as possible. I just keep around 50 links per week. I do social sharing, guest blogging with exact/synonym anchor text links and also I link to other pages across the whole site. I try to avoid site bar and footer links although I have some because it's partner links, I didn't buy them. I even asked web masters to put nofollow tag to those link after the drop because I was concerned that Penguin considers them bought links. The result: 1st keyword is going quite well, it reached 5th postion but after that dropped to the second page, which more or less I can explain with various factors such as overal keyword competition, maybe penguin thought that some links are spammy. The problem is that the second keyword is disaster. I found it in SERP after 1 month hard work on 17th page and now it is swinging between 14th and 17th page. Honestly, I am confused. Is it possible that link building with 2 keywords to the same page creates self canibalization of some kind? Just to remind that the 2 keywords are quite different, i,e. there are not related as synonyms or similar. Do you guys have had similar problem? Thanks in advance for your advice

Link from each page or only from homepage
In addition to my main site (A), I also have another website (B) (question/answer) type, which has over 400,000 indexed pages in Google. I'm trying to do linkbuilding for a.com: should I link from B to A ? should I place a link only on the homepage of B? should I place a link on homepage of B and each of the 400,000 pages to A? should place multiple links on B to A.com/subdirectories/ thank you.

How Many Domain 301s Can You Have?
A client owns around 10 different domains, each a slightly different version of their company name. The main site is itself a new domain, therefore they'd like to know what the implications of redirecting the 10 other domains to the main one would be. Any thoughts? I have never done this before, so interested to know whether a) there's any benefit and b) if there is a penalty for implementing too many domain 301s. Thanks.
