Break-up content into individual pages or keep on one page

I am working on a dental website. Under menu item "services" lists everything he does like..
Athletic Sports Guards
An athletic sports guard is a resilient plastic appliance that is worn to protect the teeth and gum tissues by absorbing the forces generated by traumatic blows during sports or other activities.Digital X-Rays We use state of the art digital x-rays and digital cameras to help with an accurate diagnosis of any concerns.
Digital Imaging On initial visits, and recall visits, we take a series of digital photographs to aid us in diagnosis as well as to give you a close-up view of your mouth and any oral conditions.
Smile Makeovers
We offer a number of different options including bleaching, bonding, porcelain veeners, and in some cases, implants and/or orthodontic care is utilized in our smile makeover planning.Nitrous oxide for your Comfort
Would it be better to break these services up into individual pages? I was thinking I would because then I could add more pictures and expand on the topic and try to get an "A" grade on each page.
I'm not sure how I could rank a page if I have 35 services listed on the page. That would be an awfully big H1!

Solid advice Miriam - well done

Hi Bob,
I agree with the advice others are giving you. Definitely, break these topics up into individual pages. While not every page may not be a highly searched for term, I've done copywriting and Local SEO for dental practice clients and I know that many terms related to dentistry are real winners.
You'll want to start with a session or keyword research for each page, and create an article of 400-600 words in length, fully describing the benefits of each service. FAQs the dentist has noticed his patients have asked are a help in this. For example, if the dentist offers Sleep Dentistry, what has he noticed his patients most frequently ask about it? What are their concerns? Do they need someone to drive them home after the appointment? Are there any medications they shouldn't be taking if they go with this option? Can they eat the day of their appointment? And focus on the positive...how will this service allay their fears?
Be creative and you may well end up with articles that exceed 600 words...I often find that. And don't forget the dentist's geo keywords, too. Those are important!
If the dentist is willing to invest in really good copywriting, he will be greatly strengthening his ranking potentials for many terms, as well as offering very helpful information to his current and prospective clients.

In this scenario, would I try to rank the abbreviated page? Guess I really shouldn't because it would compete with the individual pages?
-
If there are 35 services, I'd group them eg Imaging Services which lists the brief description for each individual service as per your example ie digital imaging and digital xrays, each line has a "click here for more info" link and that link takes the page visitor to individual service pages. As the two previous respondents have mentioned, each individual page is expanded with all your competitive keywords included in the content.
-
Absolutely go for individual pages. Find the best keyword for each service based on search volume/competition and add the keyword into the page title & meta details aswell as the URL (yourURL/Digital X-Rays for example).
Content is king here so make sure each page has a great and well written article.
-
If you have the content to do it, go for it! Depending on your market you may find some long-tail opportunities when doing your keyword research.
As for the Services page itself, you'll have lots of relevant, summarized content; so shoot for your top-level keywords here. "dental services in <city>", "dentist in <city>", etc.</city></city>

Should extra content be added to item page or resource center?
We run an ecommerce company which sells machines. After the machine is used for X amount of time, we suggest changing the blades in the machines. We have a resource center for customer convenience. We are creating videos and content on how to change the blades in each machine. (each machine is a different process). Do we create videos and content in the resource center and link to the product page or do we beef up our content on the product page by adding that information there? 1 part of us thinks - "The new blade-changing content" is valuable to that product so buyers know the process before buying and hopefully gain some rank juice on the item pages. The other part of us thinks - Keep all resources in the resource center and link to learning resources from the product pages. This version doesn't beef up our product pages but seems to be the logical place to hose the content on the website. Thoughts? Suggestions?

What is the current best practice on preferred number of outbound links on a page you are trying to rank with: According to online resources form a pure page rank perspective a high number of outbound follow links can have a negative impact not only on child pages but also the page itself

http://pr.efactory.de/e-outbound-links.shtml Other resources suggest that particularly placing high quality outbound links on a page (nofollow) increases the trust and authority of a page Are there any other elements to keep in mind? Is the best practice to avoid any follow links on a page you want to rank well in Google for? Thanks /T0 -
Home Page Keywords not Ranking and Assigned to Inside Pages
Hi, thank you for taking the time to read this. We have a few websites with the same problem. I will use http://www.prepared-meals.com as an example: The home page was ranking on page one for keyword "Prepared Meals". The site is about 6 months old. We use the Moz page optimizer on all pages of our websites to score an A rating. Recently we found the home page is no longer showing up in search results and the keyword "prepared meals" now points to an inside page that is not relevant: http://www.prepared-meals.com/Senior-Meals/Moms-Meals-Reviews.html this page shows up for Prepared Meals around page 15 in Google results. We have read keywords in the URL might be the issue, even though the page optimizer in MOZ says to do that. We are wondering if this is the issue or there is some other problem we are not aware of. Again, thank you for you for your time. -Craig

Why Does Google Keep Changing My Page Titles?
I know Google has been doing this for quite some time but how do you "control" what Google will display as your page name? Lots of my pages come up with a title like "[searched keyword] - [website name]" in the search results. I usually a huge drop in CTR when this happens. On the other hand, there are some pages which have kept their title intact in the search results. So what gives? How come one page's title is changed and the other is not?

Duplicate content harms individual pages or whole site?
Hi, One section of my site is a selection of Art and Design books. I have about 200 individual posts, each with a book image and a description retrieved from Amazon (using their API). Due to several reasons not worth mentioning I decided to use the Amazon description. I don't mind if those pages rank well or not, but I need them as additional content for my visitors as they browse my site. The value relies in the selection of books. My question is if the duplicate content taken from Amazon harms only each book page or the whole site. The rest of the site has unique content. Thanks! Enrique

Page title changes based on results per page
I have a product listing that allows customers to set a results per page option. This ads a GET variable to the URL. I've added the page number to the title of this page if they go past the first page. If this results per page variable is added to the URL then google see it as a different page. Do I need to change the page title for this?
