Youtube or Own Server
-
I've trying to make one specific page of my personal blog more relevant, and today i recorder a video to improve my content.
What is more relevante, host my video and embed with HTML5 (and offer an option for user go to youtube) or embed a video from my youtube channel directly?
Have a chance for my video appers on Google SERP? How do i need to encode him to take best position?
Thank's for everyone time, and have i nice day

I agree it must be a exchange with Google in truth I have almost 100% direct visitors via GA but HubSpot suggests me much greater it must be Google converting matters but test out hubspot and you will see what I suggest to try the page like robokiller apk .

Just use the HTML5 video tag with the file you are embedding if you're self hosting. If you use flash - you wont have playback with iOS devices. I'd also deliver the content via a good cloud server and keep the bitrate sensible to keep bandwidth costs down. YouTube will start playback when part of the video is loaded, and then load the rest progressively in the background. If you're self hosting - add further compression to the first few seconds of your video so you can have fast initial playback.

So if I self host a video onto my site how can I ensure it functions well on all devices like the iPhone and iPad and android devices? Also how can I ensure that it doesn't take forever to upload over the server when a person clicks to play? Isn't bandwidth an issue? How does YouTube play a video while it's still loading? Thanks for your insight.

Thank's for everyone awnser, is very helpfully.
I Decide to submit a video to youtube, to try to get some traffic from there, AND embed by my own server on my Page.

In addition to Phil's great post, I wanted to let you know that Wistia (3rd party video platform used by SEOmoz and others) just released a Free Version that might be a great fit.

Hi Lucas,
A couple of months ago i wrote a pretty extensive blog post on this topic. http://www.seomoz.org/blog/hosting-and-embedding-for-video-seo I would suggest you have a read through that and see if that helps you to decide the best course of action.
The essence of the answer is - it depends what you want to achieve and what sort of content you are creating. To get your video appearing in the SERP - with a referring link back to your site, you will be better off self hosting, as YouTube will often outrank your site for it's own video otherwise.

If you're trying to get your own content to rank, then don't host on YouTube. Â Host is on your own site or on a CDN, and embed it on your site with Schema markup so that you have a chance of showing rich snippets in the SERPs. Â This helpful article shows you how:

YOUTUBE!
Not only you save bandwidth ... people can also subscribe to your vid news
-
Main thing to do is consider if you want the video to rank ? or your page with the video to rank ?
having it on youtube means ( in most cases )Â the video content on youtube will rank in serp over the content on your site . But if you have it on your server you can tag it properly to let the video snippet show up for your page in the serp.( which could increase the CTR )
Hope this helps you to make your decision.

YouTube is the way to go.

I would definitely use youtube. Yes it can only help your SERP

Youtube Views
We have a Youtube channel that has a 7+ years of history and a bunch of views. With that said they are not tagged or described very well on youtube. For business reasons, we are considering creating a new Google/Youtube account, then moving the videos to the new account and properly tagging. Does anyone have SEO thoughts on essentially killing our youtube views/history?

YouTube Demographics
Hi Mozzers, Is it possible to do YouTube-specific keyword research? I have a client who sells wine making franchises and wants to produce a video for prospective franchisees. I doubt people are looking for this on YouTube and want some data to support my case so I can push the project in a more meaningful direction.

Videos not displaying within YouTube search results (query starting with '@' symbol)
We recently uploaded a video to YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ah0CgZ22NNU) only to realize that it wasn't being displayed within YouTube's internal search results when searched for by the brand name. Our partner's brand name is @WashULaw. If you were to search for @WashULaw on YouTube, you'll notice it returns a 'No Search Results' page (http://screencast.com/t/ZP3SGM5sr). However, when you search for keywords without the @ symbol (i.e. washulaw, wash u law, etc) within YouTube, our video is discovered. However, if you enter the @ symbol within their search bar and choose one of the auto-suggest keywords, you'll notice the query returns video matches (http://screencast.com/t/wkghMhRY). Looking at the view counts of these videos, they appear to be over 100K each. Our video has been indexed by YouTube (http://screencast.com/t/6xV3kW2DHQ6R) and Google (http://screencast.com/t/r4jloA0BpPf). We've even added @WashuLaw as a tag. My question, does anyone have an idea as to why our video isn't displaying when someone searches for our brand @WashULaw with the @ symbol within YouTube's search? ZP3SGM5sr

What is the SEO benefit of embedding YouTube videos on a page?
Is there SEO benefit to embedding YouTube videos made my other people or companies on pages? The indirect benefit would be a better user experience and increased perceived value and usefulness of the page which could lead to more links. Are there any other benefits?

Video SEO - Youtube vs. 3rd party hosting with Video Sitemap
We need some feedback on the best place to upload videos. Should we be uploading our videos everywhere (YouTube, Metacafe, Vimeo, etc.)? Note: Currently we are using a 3rd party video video hosting solution called Treepodia. Previously we used Wistia. Both host our videos, and submit a Video Sitemap through Webmaster tools. When one of these videos shows up in search results and somebody clicks on it, they are directed back to our website. Are we competing against ourselves if we upload videos to other networks like Youtube, etc. if we are already submitting a Video Sitemap through a 3rd party? I've noticed we rank higher in Google Videos search for our Youtube videos vs. our 3rd party hosted videos. Also, how do Youtube video views tie into this situation... we used to embed videos via Youtube embed code. Now we seem to be missing out on the extra views we were getting by doing so. Ultimate question: host videos through a 3rd party and submit a video sitemap OR host videos on Youtube and embed on our website?

VSEO - Is backlinks help youtube video to rank well??
hey, I made a test & got backlinks to 2 youtube videos of mine and saw what should happening in next few days..but nothing got! I didn't get update or change in my videos even if the keywords are low competitions.. but when I read many posts & experts say that getting backlinks to your youtube video or VSEO count by google and we should doing it! the only way I've found to improve your youtube video ranking in google is to add it in blog & use video sitemap! but I'm also use video to direct affiliate link & there where I think backlinks should work to help me. I would to know from your experience is that worth to do or not or if backlinks for youtube are link ping we should do it directly when we upload video? PS: any info or idea you've it can be a very helpful solution for all! thnx
