Can these unnatural links from a site that was hacked hurt me?
-
After reading the article http://www.seomoz.org/ugc/identifying-link-penalties-in-2012 I decided to do some investigating to see if I to have suffered from link penalties. After using site explorer I found a ton of over optimized unnatural links from jnjbtw.com and other pharmacy sites. See screen shot: My site is a website about kayak fishing we clearly have nothing to do with pharmacy, doctors or drugs. I know similar questions have been asked before about spam sites linking to you and if they affect you or not but this is about how overly optimized the links that are going to my site are. Would this flag penguin to add a penalty to my website? Any idea how jnjbtw.com has all these links to my site were they hacked?

On the OSE home page click the _View update calendar _link.
The next OSE update is scheduled for June 27th. Depending on when the issue was resolved on the linking site, the results may be removed on that update or the following one.

Lets hope Google knows my website "kayak fishing" would not benefit from pharmacy links.
How long will site explorer show these links?
-
yes

It seems the jnjbtw.com site is a legitimate site which has been compromised. It is likely the site had malware on it which provided search engine crawlers false links. The site apparently has had the issue resolved.
In most cases, these type of links would not harm your site. An example of an exception would be if Google had strong evidence that your site was responsible for the malware. As long as that is not the case, you should be fine.

Is www.jnjbtw.com a llegit Johnson and Johnson website?
-
I think it would depend on the rest of the links pointing to your site. If you have nothing but relevant sites pointing to your site and this one pharmacy site is only oddball linking to you, then I would think you would be fine as far as penguin is concerned.
However, if you show a history of other non relevant sites linking to yours, then penguin might think your engaging in paid spam links and penalize you for it.

Is there value of consistently getting a link from a high DA site?
Is there value in consistently getting a link from a high DA sites? For example, consistently posting on a blog monthly rather then only doing it once and getting a link/being done with it. Could you list the pros of consistently getting links on high DA sites?

Where can I get a list of broken links to my client's website?
I have a client who owns a website that attracted a large number of links to internal pages of their sites. Without realising the value of those links, they removed every page of their website other than the home pages that now reads, "new website coming soon". How can I get a list of every website still linking to the (now broken) internal pages of their site?

Does Open Site Explorer show juice passing links
I'm a little confused between all the link types. Internal / External - easy Linking Root Domain - easy Followed / No followed - easy But then there's talk about "juice passing links" and I can't quite get how this is defined, and why it's something you can get from the API, but not from Open Site Explorer... or can you get that info from OSE?

Links from multiple sites coming from the same server?
Hi SEO Mozers, As I structure my link building campaign I come across alot of directories some of which are located on the same server. If I am to place links on these sites is this is negative signal for big G? The reason I ask is because I see that a competitor has used these various directories and is ranking on the no 1 spot for a moderately competetive keyword. I am able to place links on the sites with almost no effort at all therefore even if it does not pass alot of link juice is it still worth it for me. But if this is seen as a negative I would not persue it. What is your thoughts on this? Thanks in advance, Ross
