OpenExplorer vs Majestic results...?
-
I'm checking one of my competitors out, dubdubdub ny maids com, in both OpenExplorer and MajesticSEO. The former is showing about 2600 links from 850 domains (historic), while the latter is showing 58 links from 20 domains.
I don't see that SEOMoz has a historic feature, which is vague to begin with, but even the 'fresh index' of MajesticSEO is showing more backlinks than SEOMoz.
Could someone explain this dramatic difference in services? And could they also comment on how strong of an actual link profile they have? It's clearly a very old domain, which I realize has some weight, but with so many services showing such different results, I'm having a tough time discerning what it would take to dethrown them.
Thanks everyone.

Would you agree their link profile is very weak and would be easily dethroned by a strong SEO firm, then? Because from the looks of MajesticSEO it's pretty damn solid. What other tools should we be using to make an intelligent analysis?

SEOMoz puts a lot of effort into crawling the most important part of the web, whereas MajesticSEO is tuned to crawl more of the web. Some would argue that SEOMoz is probably the better overall measure of the domain's link profile strength, but you should look at a number of signals to evaluate.
The SEOMoz team has written up a long post about how they crawl which will be informative: http://devblog.seomoz.org/2012/06/how-does-seomoz-crawl-the-web/.

Why does moz give different page authority to the same page if a visit comes from adwords vs organic search?
When clicking on an adwords ad the page the landing page has a page authority of 26. When clicking on organic search to the same exact landing page the page authority is 37. Why is this. Does moz or, more importantly Google see these as the same or separate pages? Thanks Tom

Discrepancy between backlinks (opensiteexplorer vs. search console)
Hey there, when I check in search console for "Links to your site" and "your most linked content" I see incoming links pointing to the wrong (country and language) subdirectory? When I check those same backlinks with opensiteexplorer they seem to point (after redirects) to the correct subdirectory. Anyone out there with similar experiences or thoughts on this? I would be happy to give access to search console if you wanted to have a look at this. SEOMoz SERP Overlay Vs. Opensite Explorer
This may be a simple answer, but when I search for a term and see a website on the SERP, the SEOMoz tool bar shows link data beneath the link. For this site in particular, it shows 300+ links for the root domain and for the page, it shows 8 links. When I put that website in opensite explorer, it shows the same data for the "Page" stats (8 links from 3 root domains), but nowhere can I find where the 315 links from 4 domains comes from. So my questions is why do those links show in the SERP overlay, but not in OSE? il5y9.png

Www.mydomain.tld same as mydomain.tld - unexpected results
Hi I set up a campaign to monitor a website and chose to track the root domain, however the report showed every single page on my website was duplicated with itself when seen as www.mydomain.tld as opposed to just mydomain.tld. I deleted the campaign and set it up to monitor only the www.mydomain.tld as I don't use any other subdomains, however in Bing results the website is listed without the www and so is not recognised in the ranking checker. How can I set it up so that seomoz recognises the pages as the same either with or without the www?

SEOmoz vs Google Webmaster Tools on incoming links
I'm working on basic SEO for http://queueassoc.com. Google has indexed the non-www verions of the pages and these are what the SERPS return SEOmoz toolbar shows that all of the incoming links juice goes to the www. versions of the pages, none to the non-www version. Yesterday I set up GWMT for the site, submitted a sitemap with the www version of the pages and set the default address to the www version. I had to verify both versions of the site in order to do this and in looking at the non-www version I saw that Google had all the incoming links there and none in the www.version, the opposite of what SEOmoz shows. Is this just because Google only has the non-www versions in its index? Will they show the links to the www version once they get them in the index? I'm worried about losing Google Page Rank value or SEOmoz DA by making this switch.
