Viral content for kitchen cabinet and bathroom vanity retail sites (separate sites)
-
Hoping to get some ideas in a pretty niche category. Thanks

Hi Tyler, in addition to the 2 aforementioned answers: A collection of photos from the same kitchen or bathroom over several weeks = 1 pic per day and putting them together in timeline like mentioned in this great seomoz article: http://www.seomoz.org/ugc/using-timelines-to-create-great-content-and-build-links

A collection of pictures of the most extreme bathrooms, the most odd things people have used for sink bowls, the longest bathroom vanity, etc. For kitchen cabinet, one thing that would be helpful is an educational page that I could refer to as I start to remodel my kitchen (we just closed on our house yesterday, so I haven't started looking yet). If you had a great page that explained all I ever needed to know about cabinets and explained all of the terms that the other sites assumed I would just know, that would be something that would last a long time.

Great! Thank you very much for your advise!

Obviously the idea cannot come in handy but here is a rough idea for you in your related niche...
Take some topic like ‘Idea of a Perfect luxurious Kitchen!’ and put one image that sounds perfectly ideal...
Below to the image allow people to talk about this kitchen and submit the picture of their ideal kitchen... and start promoting the age...
As it is UGC based people will automatically participate and share the content on social media and link to it by discussing it on the blog and forums...

Where should I centre my content Hubs?
I look after a manufacturing site which has a well structured architecture when it comes to our products. There is also a benefits section and an about section. In addition to managing the three main information sections I've also been setting up a blog with topical content divided into four categories (Built environment, Secondary glazing in practice, Treat of the month, Project profile). My question is, where do I position my content hubs? Having worked through Cyrus's 'How to Rank 25 Step Master SEO Blueprint', I've realized that my approach of simply linking back to main top level pages is at best arbitrary, at worst negative in terms of SEO. Would I be better off asking our designers to set up category landing pages within the blog that relevant new copy can be linked to (currently the blog is just set up without category landing pages and I categorize each post with a tag that is used to sort the posts into their respective location on the blogs homepage? Currently the blog is an option on the main sites top level navigation and I link relevant blog pieces to relevant areas within the site. Basically I'm struggling to understand how to implement Cyrus's recommendation to create themes with my current website structure. Can anyone help? Thanks Mozers

Broken Incoming Links from External Site - What to do?
Our Google Webmaster 'page not found' reports consistently show two Chinese websites that have approximately 50 broken links each to non-existent pages on our website. One site is a PR5, the other a PR1. Two of our Chinese employees have contacted the site owners (even talking with them over the phone) to discuss the errors, where the broken links live on their sites, and how to fix them. They have contacted the site owners three times in the past three months, but still the broken links have not be fixed. What do you recommend we do?

Seo & Real Estate Site?
I am a Realtor. I am also a web developer. I want to make a site about real estate and web development. Primarily how I use my unique skills with web to sell homes. A real estate website caps it's Page Rank very low. There are not a lot of good backlinks to get when compared to the web development industry. There are millions of blogs I participate in about web development/seo. There are a lot of blogs I participate in about real estate too; however, the real estate websites all have low page ranks. This is obviously because the seo/web development industries know how to build page rank, which makes it easier to accumulate it. It's difficult finding good outlets to get link power from in real estate. How confused would google be? Is there an acceptable strategy to making this a reality? Please point out all of the variables I am not seeing. Pros and Cons. I'm not an SEO pro. I would be going for the keyword Pensacola Real Estate. I would accumulate backlinks from the real estate industry and the web design industry. Help 🙂

Are link exchanges bad for SEO these days? Also, is adding my site to free yet relevent directory sites a bad idea?
I operate a computer services company in Eugene, Oregon called "Eugene Computer Geeks". We do a lot of web design, and need incoming links to my site very badly. Lately I've been asking clients if they would link to me, but they almost always ask for a link in return. If we exchange links, does Google penalize my site? Would the incoming link be better for SEO if I'm not linking back to the other site? ALSO Is it possible that manually submitting my site to free, yet relevant web directories would hurt my rankings? It's not a big deal to me if it doesn't help my rankings, as I see a benefit to having my site listed, but wanted to make sure there wasn't a chance that it would hurt my rankings. As far as I know all the directories are free from SPAM, porn, warez, or anything like that. Thanks!

Linking to root domain or specific sub-site
Hello, When optimizing for multiple keywords, should I try to get links back to the root domain of the company I work with, or would it be better to link back to sub-sites specific to the keyword I am optimizing for? Does 'getting the root up' help all keywords I work with? Cheers, Mike

Value of a link from very large profile site
Hello We have an opportunity to get a link from a very large traffic site. It comes with a price tag, and Im wondering if it is worth it. Is it ok to mention the page and cost? It is the 5th largest internet site. Would be on their benefactors page. There are many other sites linking from the page, and its obvious they are on there for the link value. I know sometimes one link can do wonders for rankings, where thousands of others can not. But wondering if there is any way to quanitfy this. Is it worth it for the value of the backlink? If we link to the home page, the link juice (alot I hope) would pass through to the deeper pages, and increase their rankings for their target keywords? Thanks for your advise. Sam
