WordPress Guest Post Admin Access?
-
Is there a plugin or function in WordPress for a guest poster to just get admin access to control comments?
Example:
Big Brand X writes a guest post on www.yoursite.com.
Big Brand X wants admin access to approve or delete comments on their guest on www.yoursite.com.
Big Brand X doesn't want access to edit their guest post or any other post on www.yoursite.com, they just want admin access to manage the comments on their guest post.
Is this possible? Thanks for the help!

Awesome! Exactly the answer I was looking for. Many thanks, Ben, greatly appreciate the help with this.

Yes, "Authors" have authority over editing their own content, publishing the post and moderating their own comments.
The Codex is looking at the "universal" control features. Of which "authors" are very limited.

Thanks, Ben for checking into this. Just so I understand correctly, are you saying that a guest poster who is assigned the role of "Author" can actually moderate comments on their post?
I didn't see that info in the codex. I know that the role of "Editor" does but it looks like an Editor can a lot of other things as well.

Hey David,
I saw the same information in the codex and it is a bit misleading. An "Author" has moderation control on their own posts but doesn't have "comment moderation" power over the whole site. Only admins do.
I just tested this out again. Make sure you go into the top "help" menu on the edit post page and check "comments" and "discussion".

Thank you, Ben and Sanket for taking the time to respond. I looked at the different roles WordPress lets you assign. Unfortunately, the "lowest" role that lets a user moderate comments also lets a user edit other pages and posts, which is rather risky for the person whose letting Big Brand X guest post on their site.
Thanks again for the help, appreciate it.

Hi David,
It is possible for you as guest post to moderate comments of your guest post on www.yoursite.com. Wordpress administrator gives you a right to moderate our own post, for more information please read this link it will help you more to get a solution of your question.

An "author" can moderate any comments in the admin area of the posts they have written. Set their role to "Author" and you should be all set.

Wordpress Blog Pages, Duplicate Title Tag
Anyone have any experience in fixing the duplicate Title tag on a Wordpress blog multiple pages Basically the title tag remains the same on the pages /Blog/ /Blog/Page/2/ /Blog/Page/3/ My good friend Yoast Plugin doesn't seem to of resolved this (Unless i have missed something?) I don't really see this to be effecting anything and wouldn't of through it would either, but it would be nice to not see the notification within Moz site crawls and campaigns etc, its more of a cosmetic problem Any solutions ? Thanks James

Rel="noindex in a guest post
I'm guest posting on some sites and one of them placed my back link as follows: mysite.com I'm not sure what he's trying to achieve with the help of rel="noindex"? The first that jumps into my mind is that Google will index the post but skip my backlink. So, there's no sense in such a bakclink, ringht?

Wordpress Security and Alternatives
No matter how secure we try to make our wordpress blogs they still got hacked. We recently got hacked(server level hacking, javascript insertion that took our server down, through the askimet plugin), anyway there was nothing really showing in the front end, no inserted links and nothing suspicious looking code. Oh well we are changing the passwords now and going through and deleting the javascript. The problem im facing is that i am handling over 100 blogs, so its very time consuming to do this. I know that once or twice a year everyone goes through a wordpress crisis but we really cant afford nor have the resources to fix it all the time. Are there any alternatives to wordpress blogs(as good as wordpress). Wordpress has been showing good results so far so it works as far as SEO goes, but we are trying to figure out what to do in order to not get hacked. Besides alternatives id like to know if there are any work arrounds to not get hacked with little maintenance needed. Any tips?

Where in my wordpress admin panel do I add the .
Having read Rand's post about the canonical tag I very much wish to use it to advise Google that the duplicates created during archiving (due to the fact that the posts have multiple categories) are just copies. I understand the theory, but can't transfer it into practice! Could someone give me an idiots guide as to how to add the tag and to where. My site produces approx 10 - 20 blog posts per week. Each has at least 2-4 categories applied to it. They are archived each month, at which point I have a big jump in duplicates in my campaign panel. Help! C:\Users\Catherine\Desktop\me_small.gif

Are you sure moving a wordpress blog to a main website is a good idea?
Sorry to ask this question again but I left out some background info...... My blog sits at www.gardenbeet.wordpress.com I have been using the blog as my main linking page for my main website at www.gardenbeet.com - the blog links to relevant sites in both blog articles and on the side of the blog. The blog links to industry websites that in turn link to my main website at www.gardenbeet.com. If I was to move the wordpress blog to my own domain will my mainwebsite loose its strength. Will all those blog links pour my link juice out of my website? Will the current three way links become two way links and thereby lesson their linking importance? Is the previous recommendation (combine the blog and the main website) still the best course of action? Should I keep the two sites or perhaps close entries on the existing blog and start another on my own domain? thanks for your time AGAIN
