Press Relases as Link Building is valid?
-
Dear Mates,
We are looking for increase our Domain Authority, so we was submitting our site to BOW, Yahoo Directory and we want to know if Press Releases sites (paid press) are too good to do the inversion.
What sites are recommended, we think could be very usefull build a list of the real top PR sites (Paid and Free)
Thank you for your time

Actually, one aspect that we forgot to mention was that the real link value is not from the press release. The real value is if any of the online blogs or newspapers picks up the story and runs it, hopefully with a link.
http://www.prweb.com/ is said to reach many "real" writers. Have not used it myself though.
If you use it, please share your experiences.

I think its hard to say exactly what is the ONE best site for this. It also depends on what kind of products you have.
One of the biggest problems is that your press release lives for a very short time on for example a frontpage. Then where does it go? Does it have a dedicated URL?
We have been using www.mynewsdesk.com, there you get your profile page and that has time to collect some pagrank. You can see the below example of one of our clients:
http://www.mynewsdesk.com/se/pressroom/lmg
If you have a look at that in OpenSiteExplorer you can se that the pagerank is atleast decent.

PRweb & if money isn't really the issue, go with BusinessWire. The PRweb.com link itself will probably be the most valuable from a PRWeb release though, unless you get picked up outside of the typical syndication network. BusinessWire works the same way, but has a better professional image.
If you have the money and do not have newsworthy announcements, look into facilitating an outreach campaign or buying some friendships of authoritative sites within your industry. Donating to relevant foundations, sponsoring local events (with websites) and work harder to get known online, digitally within your industry online.
There are tools & strategies that will help you identify the resource-related authority sites within your industry too.

The main idea is to increase the Domain Authority (the budget is not the problem),
So what is the best or most trusted resourced to submit PR and get great authority?
-
Hi Claudio
Some PR sites are great and some not so great. You have to check the domain and pagerank of the page where your release will be posted. Will it also rotate and be shown on frontpage? How long? Also make sure you have proper links back to your landingpage and make sure they are not put as nofollow.
You can use www.opensiteexplorer.org to investigate the pageranks etc
Here is also a list of free PR sites:
- Free-Press-Release.com
- PRLog.org
- ClickPress.com
- NewswireToday.com
- Express-Press-Release.net
- Free-Press-Release-Center.info
- TheOpenPress.com
- PressMethod.com
- PressBox.co.uk
- BusinessServicesuk
Good luck
Fredrik

I heard different opinions all over the web, some people said don't do 100% just anchor texts with the keywords you want to rank with, and they suggest 60% brand anchor text and the rest for the keywords i want to rank for. what do you guys suggest?

Can I include "commissioned" posts in my link building strategy?
Ok "Commissioned Posts" meaning industry influencers/bloggers etc writing about your brand, products or services and possibly "linking" to your website (in exchange for money, or not) a) I'm contacted by a blogger who wants to write a piece about our product and naturally links back. b) A blogger says, yes, we can write a fantastic article about your brand and link to you for $$$..$ - is this ok if not at scale? What is deemed as ethical? I want to make sure our link building campaign is done within Google's guidelines. Here is currently what we are doing, or intending to do; 1. We're producing unique content on our site and sharing this with key influencers organically on Twitter, Facebook and G+ communities. This so far is working well for a new start up. 2. Writing guest posts on authoritative sites (with only our author bio at the bottom, branded link to our site, social links) sharing knowledge or interesting content which readers will want to read. Sites like HuffPost, The Guardian would be great although we're starting on authoritative well maintained blogger sites within the industry to begin. 3. Reaching out to industry influencers who may like to review our products. Many of them have got back to me stating that they "can" run commissioned posts (normally requires a large fee) which carries a followed link, branded or unbranded. Although we may have initially contacted them, and money could be exchanged, in the eyes of Google wouldn't this appear as a natural post? Please let me know your thoughts on this? It would be great to gain more of an understanding exactly what I can or cannot do when it comes to developing high quality links for our business! Your feedback (sharing any examples if possible) would be truly appreciated. Thanks Gary

Link Building for Landing Page
Hey Guys, I have a client that is launching a website in about 2-3 months time. They have had a flash site for the last 4 years and have had no SEO/Link Building to the site and are now going to undertake my services for Content Strategy, Social Strategy and Link Building. In the interim (from now till the next 3 months) they will be launching a "coming soon" landing page. What I want to know is when doing their initial link building do I just concentrate on brand related links through local directories with the aim of getting a few local keyterms? Or should we be deploying a longer term strategy of going after the competitive keyterms now? Thanks,

Most effective method for link building?
From your experience, what have you found to be the most effective method for link building? It's starting to look like the only way to receive good links is by writing great content or offering great services and allowing the links to come in naturally (which is obviously the most important thing anway), but are there still any effective methods of getting valuable links through link building, apart from having personal connections and relationships with site owners?

Link building from keyword domains
Hi all, I am currently working on link building to our site http://www.betxpert.com which has a number of keywords I am targeting. I have become aware that domains with the keywords are available. We (in Danish) target the phrase "ekpert tips" and the domain www.eksperttips.dk is available. Would it be a good thing for us, to register this domain and do one of the following things: a) DNS forward traffic to our main site b) Build a small blog with minor content and linking to the main site with text links with the tekst "ekspert tips"? c) Simply do nothing, save the money and spend it otherwise... Hope someone can give me a sound advice. Best regards, Rasmus

How much Link Building?
I'm wondering how much additional directory links to a site, on a monthly basis, would be too much, and potentially seen as too manufactured in Google's eyes. I am referring specifically to good quality, or relevant, directory links, nothing very spammy. I know there is no specific number, just wondering what the consensus is. Would a 10% monthly increase in linking root domains generally be considered too much? 5%? Thanks for your input!

Should I optimize/link build all my pages at once?
I'm currently starting to optimize about 30 area specific pages for a property maintenance company and was wondering, what's the best way to link build multiple pages at once? Should I link build for all of the 30 the pages at once, or maybe focus on 5 individual pages - get them ranking well, then focus on the next 5 and so on?
