Google Analytics - Cross Domain Tracking Goals
-
Hi guys, looking at the best way to organize this -
Site 1 - Shoe Store - (Old site with analytic history - UA-12345-1)
Site 2 - Clothing Store - (Brand New UA-54321-1)
Right now i have 2 separate GA Accounts for the sites. But i would like to track goals from Site 2 to Site 1. For that i need to set up cross domain tracking.
So i take it i would need to create another account under Site 1 - (UA-12345-2) and put that new code on Site 2?
Or do the UA numbers have to be exact? example both 12345-1? In which case, i would need to set up 2 different profiles with filtering?
Main concern is i want to keep separate data for both sites, espically if UA's will be the same.
Trying to visualize -
UA-12345-1
Profile 1Shoes/Master
Profile 2 Shoes
Profile 3 Clothes
Or
UA-12345-1
Shoes
UA-12345-2
Clothes
Thanks,
Mike

Thanks Mike.
Giving it a whirl.
Hopefully adding a filter on a profile wont mess too much with the historical data if its the same site anyways.

Yes, the UA #'s will have to be the same if you're going to be doing cross domain. The option you listed first should get it done. You'll just want to create filters within the segmented profiles to keep data from leaking into the others.
So:
Original UA:
Profile 1: Historical and future Shoe ONLY data
Profile 2: Clothes moving forward (not historical)
Profile 3: Unfiltered (not historical)

Whatstuffwherebot user agent messing up Google Analytics
Starting yesterday, Aug 26, 2020, I noticed a new bot crawling our site with user agent whatstuffwherebot. Google Analytics is counting these hits as human traffic, completely throwing off my numbers - yesterday, Analytics reported nearly triple my typical number of visitors. As of now, Search Console only shows data through Aug 25 so I don't know if Search Console is also affected. Is anybody else seeing something similar? Does anybody know what the whatstuffwherebot bot is? I don't get any results when I search on Google or Bing. For what it's worth, the traffic is coming from Columbus, OH, running over Amazon AWS via 278 different IP addresses so far. Also, WordFence (my WordPress security plugin) correctly identifies these hits as bot traffic.

Drop in Bounce Rate in Google Analytics
Hi guys, I have recently seen a large drop in bounce rate (from GA) which seems unnatural for one of our clients website. Since the start of 2018, the bounce rate was consistently between 40-60%, and then saw a random spike, and now for the past two weeks, the bounce rate is below 10%. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas if this is a problem with GA, or the site itself. Site: https://www.zoomocarcredit.com/ Any comments/feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! Jack. Can I move Google tracking from one account to another?
Hi: We've recently taken over the hosting of a client's web site. Is there a way to move the Google Analytics tracking from the old host's account to the client's account without losing all the history?

Google Analytics Goals are not recording
Hello! I've set up Goals within Google Analytics and they aren't registering. I'm wondering if someone can review what I've set up to see if I've entered something wrong. I'm trying to track enrollments. Here's the site info: Enroll URL: http://www.careplusdentalplans.com/individuals/enroll-careplus/ Upon completion, the user goes to a Thank You page and our CMS generates a trailing URL parameter. For example: http://www.careplusdentalplans.com/index.php/individuals/enroll-careplus-thank-you/#123456789 My Goal info in GA: Goal URL: /individuals/enroll-careplus-thank-you/

Match Type: Head Match (to disregard trailing URL parameter)
Goal Funnel: Step 1: /individuals/enroll-careplus/ I'm curious if the problem lies in either: The URL: Notice how the URL adds /index.php/ on the thank you page. In that case, should I enter the full URL in the Goal instead of the truncated URL? The Funnel: Is it necessary to show the initial Enroll page or if I'll see that in the Flow Visualization regardless? Thanks in advance for helping me out. Erik0 -
What is s.ytimg.com in google analytics?
My clients GA reports 273 visits from s.ytimg.com. I go to the site, it doesn't exist. I googled it, there were some code with s.ytimg.com in it, but nothing I could understand. Anybody have an idea where this comes from?

Comparing % Change, Google Analytics
Hey Mozzers, Is there a simple way to compare the "% Change" in traffic when comparing two separate time periods in a single Google Analytics report? When comparing data from two separate time periods, an exported CSV doesn't include the % Change (booo!), and there's no option to sort by % Change within the GA report, essentially forcing you to scroll through all the results to pinpoint the major movers and shakers. I'm not averse to using spreadsheets to sort this data, but I'm thinking that I'd likely need a macro to make this work, something like this. However, none of the macros on that page are working (possibly because they were designed for a previous version of Analytics). All suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

Analytics goal funnel regular expression not working
Hi Guys can anyone point me in the right direction. My funnels used to work fine until our app team decided to add variables in a directory structure instead of a query string. I need to be able to track page steps that now look like this Step 1 = /Reservation/Search/Var1/Var2
Reporting & Analytics | | apolloseo
Step 2 = /Reservation/Quote/Var1/Var2 I've set up this but it's not working Step 1 = /Reservation/Search.*
Step 2 = /Reservation/Quote.* What am I doing wrong?0 -
