Google Analytics traffic hijacking?

Ran into something interesting a week ago - the same Google Analytics code was installed on two different sites by accident. The account was reporting traffic from both domains.

Haven't found a definitive answer on how to stop this yet if it were to be used maliciously?

Actually, site activity generated on other domains than yours will be included in Google Analytics metrics, unless, that is, you filter that activity out.

So you need to create a filter which includes only the traffic from your own domain. This blog post explains how to do this in a perfect amount of detail.

I am almost sure (burt I could be wrong too) that analytics will not track from unverified domains, so no risk of hijacking there.

For my site I placed Black Friday offer.Now I have highlighted one product at homepage banner and tracking that with event. I am sharing with you actual figures of 1 day from Google analytic. Ecommerce Conversion Rate - 3.33% I am checking now report from All pages via Behaviour section - Page views - 97, Unique Page Views - 62, Entrances - 7, Bounce Rate - 57.14%, %Exit - 17.53% Now I create customize report for the same by adding
session -7
Ecommerce conversion rate - 0
unique events -4 MY query - when I added session in customized report then it is different from Event session why (7 and 30) ? same way Ecommerce conversion rate in customized report showing 0% why ( 0% and 3.33% ) ? same way unique events 4 and 30 ? do you suggest what is the best way to analysis such page or what will be best customize report for such analysis? No Search Data in Google Search Console (Search Analytics)

Wondering if anyone has experienced 0 data in their Google Search Console (Search Analytics) and found possible solutions to retrieve data? We have a few clients who, prior to the update to Google Search Console, were getting data regularly in terms of the Search Queries report, but ever since the update to Google Search Console, they are no longer receiving data. As an FYI, both the www and non-www versions of the website are verified in Search Console and the XML Sitemaps and Robots.txt files are clean, tested and working fine. Any insights or experience of sites showing 0 data in Search Analytics? Any possible solutions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Google Analytics: Different stats for date range vs single month?

I've been scratching my head, chin, and you name it over this one. I have an advanced segment to remove bot traffic from my data. When I look at the Audience Overview data for a single month (let's say Aug). I am shown a session count. No problems here, however If I set the date range to (January - August). The august monthly stats is incorrect, much lower. What this means is that, if I export a CSV report from Jan-Aug, the data is wrong compared to individually recording a month. Anyone faced this? I've asked the question over at the Google Analytics technical section as well, but no answer P.S I even used the 'control the number of sessions used to calculate this report' tool but no luck.

Google Analytics Tracking Code Problems

I am having a problem with my Google Analytics tracking codes. The relevant GA tracking codes have been entered into the source code of certain sites I'm running campaigns on, but Google Analytics is still telling me that the tracking code hasn't been installed - yet it has. What could possibly be the problem here? I have checked that these sites don't run off multiple domains, and that the tracking code has been entered in the correct place within the source code - and yet I am still having problems with GA. Any suggestions?

If I install google Analytics, that can affect my SEO.?

I purchased a site that has a lot of Backlinks and when I started to make changes like installing google analytics! i suspect the performance in search engine was getting worst because of that, so I removed.
Now I'm trying MOZ and needs GA, should I install it again??
Maybe it analyces the backlinks and tells google, I don't know, is that possible?

Wordpress + Google Analytics = Pulling My Hair Out

Hey Mozzers, Quick question for you- I have analytics set-up for a personal site I run and I know, verifiably it's receiving traffic, however, whenever I access my Google Analytics dashboard, it says I've had zero visits. Interestingly, today I had a colleague check the site from a foreign country and I could see the page views (within 15 minutes), however, I could not get any information about the site viewer. I have verified that the Analytics profile is 'receiving data' (which it is) and my Google Webmaster Tools is not reporting any issues? Finally, I went ahead and updated my profile so that it is pulling from 'www.mydomain.com' instead of 'mydomain.com', I don't know if that'll make any difference, but likewise, I didn't want to go and create the 'little kid in the elevator' analogy, where I'm just pressing a bunch of buttons just because they're there. So the only changes I've made thus far were deactivating Yoast's SEO plug-in and manually placing the GA code in the header and updating the 'Website's URL' in the profile settings tab of GA from 'mydomain.com' to 'www.mydomain.com'. With that, I am stumped and praying another one of the esteemed Mozzers out there may be able to help me resolve this. Any thoughts?

Do target underscore blank links adversely effect Google analytics

Good morning from 17 degrees C about to rain again wetherby UK... On this page http://business.leedscityregion.gov.uk/invest/sectors/ there are a number of links that pop open new windows despite being internal links 😞 My question is please... "If an internal link to a site is set to _blank and pops open a new window are there any detrimental affects to google analytics tracking e.g. increased exits etc" Any insights welcome 🙂
