Thin content and tabs on page
-
I am reviewing a site, and the web designer used tabs to impart information. I think the tabs idea looks great, but it leaves the page looking thin. Here is a link to a product page, could anyone chime in please?

Thanks in advance for your opinion!

AWESOME idea! The powers that be would have been upset to take down the links, having them as nofollow will keep them happy. Once again, thank you very much!
-
Yes - Google only wants to see natural links - alternatively, you can show all the links, just nofollow them
-
Would you suggest that links from our other brands to us be dropped as well? We dont want to be thought of as a link wheel site....
-
As a precaution, I would drop all four external links from your footer. If you need to mention your other brands, link to your about us page and link to your external brands there.

Much appreciated. I value your reply and the fact you took the time to give me your opinion. The content is unique to each page, so I have to assume that the downgrade of our keywords is due to the thousands of duplicate pages being generated by our dynamic search and login queries. I am going to put a disallow for a certain string and no index no follow the pages that are creating this nightmare. In the meantime, I have about 5 thousand 301's to redirect. Happy Monday all!

Thank you! We have been hit by Panda and I am checking with the best of the best for input. As an e-commerce site, its a balance between graphics and text. Thank you again for your time!

This looks fine, not to flimsy. Tabs are all on the same URL so no problems there unless that content in the tab is repeated on hundreds of similar product pages. If the content is unique to each product then you're good. I see enough info on this page.
good looking site.

Brian-H is correct. I really like all the social media sharing buttons on top of the product page. Wise design indeed.

Technically a perfect page... nothing so Thin about it!... in HTML version Google can find all the information that is available under each tab so technically there is no problem with the page and you can go ahead the way it is at the moment...

E-commerce store having same content different language pages
Hello, I have an e-commerce store operating on PrestaShop. I have four languages Fr, De, En and Nl. The url for each page changes like Example.com/en/product1 Example.com/fr/Product1 Example.com/de/product1 Example.com/nl/Product1 All these pages have same content about product1 but translated in respective language. Is it considered as duplicate content? Should I suppose to write different content for each page?

Meta Data definition for multiple pages. Potential duplicate content risk?
Hi all, One of our clients needs to redefine their meta title and description tags. They publish very similar information almost every day, so the structure they propose is the following: Structure 1: Type of Analysis + periodicity + data + brand name Examples 1: Monthly Market Analysis, 1/5/2012 - Brand Name Weekly Technical Analysis, 7/5/2012 - Brand Name Structure 2: Company Name + investment recommendation + periodicity Example 2: Iberdrola + investment recommendation (this text doesn't vary) + 2T12 (wich means 2012, 2nd trimestrer) Regarding meta description they want to follow a similar approach, replicating every time the same info with a slight variation for each publication. I'm afraid this may cause a duplicate content problem because of the resemblance of every "Market Analysis" done or every "Investment recommendation" done in the future. My initial suggestion for them is to define specific and unique meta data for each page, but this is not possible for them given the time it takes to do it for every page. Finally, I ask them to specify the data in each meta title of content published, in order to add something different each time and avoid duplicate content penalty. Will this be enough to avoid duplicate content issues? Thanks in advance for your help folks! Alex

Ranking for specific pages
HI, Lets say my website is abc.com and my targeted keyword is abc for index page. Internal pages, like abc.com/apple.htm, abc.com/banana.htm. The targeted keyword for apple.htm is fresh apples, buy apples, and for banana.htm, fresh banana, buy banana. How to define these keywords in the campaign. Please suggest. Thanks.

Duplicate Page Title
Hi Guys, First off, it's an honour to be a part of this awesome community. I'm using WordPress and getting top 3 rankings for great keywords and I'm very excited, however my page titles are in this format "keyword optimised title here - site name here" eg: "This is my keyword - this is the name of my blog", "This is another keyword - this is the name of my blog", "This is a longtail keyword - this is the name of my blog" SEOMoz is reporting errors because of duplicate page title tags due to the "this is the name of my blog" being in every page title. Will this hurt my rankings? Thanks in advance and keep up the great work! Cheers, Troy.

How could I avoid the "Duplicate Page Content" issue on the search result pages of a webshop site?
My webshop site was just crawled by Roger, and it found 683 "Duplicate Page Content" issues. Most of them are result pages of different product searches, that are not really identical, but very similar to each other. Do I have to worry about this? If yes, how could I make the search result pages different? IS there any solution for this? Thanks: Zoltan
