Best Way Optimize SEO for a Multi-service Company Serving Puget Sound, WA.

We offer several services (carpet cleaning, tile cleaning, fire & water restoration and rug cleaning and repair) in about a 50 mile geographic area (Puget Sound, WA.)
We have optimized our main site, set up 4 microsites to support our main services and are now running 4 Adwords campaigns.
We believe we are on the right track, but would like to hear from others who have multiple products/services to sell primarily in about 10 major city areas. What has worked for you?

The microsites are intended accentuate the 4 top selling services we offer. Of course these services are listed and marketed on the main site.
The microsites each have a different domain name, with the name closely associated with the service being offered.
The adwords campaigns are running off the main site, again each focused on these four main service areas. We have, however set up separate landing pages for each campaign, one of which uses the same domain name as the main site, but a .net extension vs. .com.
As you see, we have a well intentioned hodge podge going on here. Your expertise is appreciated.

careful with the microsites, what was the purpose for microsites, your target is very niche because of the geo, so one site could achieve desired rankings. Google finds out you have 5 sites for the same business you could have an issue. Are the adwords campaigns running on the main domain or different campaign for each microsite?

Hi Todd,
Since we've got a brick n mortar store we're big on winning local first and competing nationally second. In general, here's what works for us in local (no particular order):
1. One website.
2. Name, address and phone number in the footer.
3. Local directory submissions.
4. Always use city and state in page title (and additionally sometimes in meta description and category/product page content).
5. Beefed up content on landing pages for the very competitive local categories and products.

Adwords account suspended for talking about SEO. Why isn't Moz suspended, too?
First let me say that we don't care that much about Adwords. We were spending about 20 bucks a month and we never optimized it, tinkered with it, or cared that much. Business is booming for us just with organic search and referrals from happy customers. (We're a blog writing service called BlogMutt. Motto: We work like a dog to fill up your blog.) But we just got suspended from Adwords. After multiple inquiries and multiple unhelpful responses, we got a note that said: "Please note that your website contains matter which states your site's SEO increases. Anything which relates to SEO is not allowed as per Google Policies. Please make appropriate changes to your website." Now, we don't say your site's SEO increases with BlogMutt. What we do say is what everyone says, that blogging is a best practice for any modern marketing effort. We certainly are less clear about improving search rankings than, for example, moz.com. Why is it OK for Moz, but not for us? Don't get me wrong. I think Moz should be able to continue advertising. I'm just wondering how we got into the Adwords crosshairs. Any thoughts?

Is ReachLocal Killing My SEO Work?
I have a customer that I did SEO work for. I cleaned up title tags, content, image tags, the works. Recently, they signed up with Reach Local to do some Pay Per Click. The problem/question I have is that reach local completely copied the entire site and put it on their server. So all my work for this company is now completely replicated. Now there are two sites. ex. windowname.com and windowname.reachlocal.net. It appears they do this for all their customers. Does Google view this as duplicate content? Does my regular website lose positioning to the more powerful ReachLocal?

Best way of handling top level domains (with a local twist)
Hi There, We're about to develop a new website for a small company who operates in both New Zealand and Australia. The company has a foot in the door with major Australian distribution so is keen to build their brand there - almost all of the marketing budget will go into Australia this year. 1. Domains and websites: We're thinking of using separate country domains (.co.nz and .com.au) along with the CMS to create 2 sites that will have: Content common to both countries and sites (about, story, product info) Country specific content (contacts, tastings, competitions and other promo) Headers and footers of each page will contain different content for each site I guess we're worried about creating a duplicate content issue as both sites will have several pages that are identical (although different info will be in the headers and footers on every page). Also, using www.brand.com/aus might not be a great option (perception-wise) when the competition will be using .com.au. And creating and maintaining different content for both sites will drain too much budget away from Adwords and marketing. 2. The effect on SEO and Adwords: If the www.brand.com/aus approach is simply better, are there any implications if all the advertised domains (especially in Adwords) redirect like this?

Does anyone do SEO for a % of sales?
I am the CEO of a small company ( 33 employees in Jacksonville, FL ) We have a family of websites that sell office products - we are the manufacture we have a staff of 3 in the website dept - but with 10 active sites its alot of work. We are launching a new site this week and need to do some SEO for the site .. Since this new site has no sales - i want to see if there is someone that will work based on a % of sales - say 10% of sales for 18 months - Here are my thoughts : Option A: - go out and get a "package" for say $5000 and have SEO done and hope it proves results Option B: - partner with someone and give them 10% of sales the site produces - so if we can grow it to $1M in sales - that person could make $100K off the site - ( our competition is a $20M + site) Some would say that im crazy and it might cost me $100K -i like it because we are all on the same page and i pay for results - not promises. Thoughts?
