Drupal duplicate pages
-
Anyone else encountered massive numbers of duplicate pages being reported on SEO Moz crawls for Drupal based sites?
I assumed it was b/c there was no redirect on the print format pages, so I fixed that with a cannonical tag. But still seeing 2 or 3 duplicate pages reported for many pages.
Any experience fixing this would be awesome to hear about.
Thanks,
Kevin

First off make sure that you are using htaccess to redirect to either www or without www. Be aware that EVERYTIME you update Drupal core that you may override this file and it revert back to the default file. I make this mistake often.
If you want to share your site I can take a look other than that the canonical should take care of the rest.

You need to do a complete 301 redirect in addition to a cannonical tag you can use a tool like this to create a 301 redirect I am giving you more than one choice because if you are using lightspeed, Apache, it will be different than if you are using Nginx
http://thedomainfo.com/go/?domain=htaccessredirect.net
http://thedomainfo.com/drupal/drupal_301_redirect_htaccess/
http://digsitevalue.org/k/redirect-url-htaccess
http://www.seoverflow.com/setting-up-301-redirects-for-dynamic-urls/
I hope I've been of help,
Thomas

Testimonial pages
Is it better to have one long testimonial page on your site, or break it down into several smaller pages with testimonials? First time I've posted on the forum. But I'm excited! Ron

Is it bad to have your pages as .php pages?
Hello everyone, Is it bad to have your website pages indexed as .php? For example, the contact page is site.com/contact.php and not /contact. Does this affect your SEO rankings in any way? Is it better to have your pages without the extension? Also, if I'm working with a news site and the urls are dynamic for every article (ie site.com/articleid=2323.) Should I change all of those dynamic urls to static? Thank You.

Duplicate pages, overly dynamic URL’s and long URL’s in Magento
Hi there, I’ve just completed the first crawl of my Magento site and SEOMOZ has picked up 1,000’s of duplicate pages, overly dynamic URL’s and long URL’s due to the sort function which appends URL’s with variables when sorting products (e.g. www.example.com?dir=asc&order=duration). I’m not particularly concerned that this will affect our rankings as Google has stated that they are familiar with the structure of popular CMS’s and Magento is pretty popular. However it completely dominates my crawl diagnostics so I can’t see if there are any real underlying issues. Does anyone know a way of preventing this? Cheers,

Does having a page (or site) available on HTTP and HTTPS cause duplication issues?
Say I've got a site that can be accessed using either protocal (i.e. HTTP and HTTPS), but most (if not all of the links) are pointing to the HTTP versions. Will it cause a problem if I start link building to HTTPS versions? In other words does google see http://mysite.com as the same page as https://mysite.com? Thanks
