The latest SEOmoz search ranking factors report I seem to find is dated 2011 http://www.seomoz.org/article/search-ranking-factors - any plans for an updated version at all?

Wow that's very exciting to hear, many thanks for the update Peter.
I can't imagine how much data he has been sifting through since his 2011 report. His next report will likely have a profound effect on how SEO's steer their departments.

Dr. Matt Peters presented some preliminary data at SMX Advanced today (6/11) and will be presenting more data at MozCon next month. I'm not sure when the full report will go out, but it should happen yet this summer.

The short answer is: Yes
We're actually working on collecting the data for a 2013 report, but we don't have a firm ETA at this point. One of our new team members on Data Science is almost full-time on ranking factors - it's a project we take very seriously. Every time we do it, though, it gets a bit harder and more complicated.

Hi there! Excited to joining this community. The main question is that if I get backlinks from different language sites then that backlink will be worthy or non-worthy in the eye of search engine? I know if I target international market by presenting my content in different languages then of course it will be worthwhile for me. But what will be happened if I do not represent content in different languages on my site but get the backlines from other language sites such as: Chinese, Russian or any other? SEO Stratergy for new ecom site
Hello Experts, I need expert advice for my ecom site. My site is www nsale dot in , domain is 2 years old, we just revamped the site. Its currently under testing. Dev activity will be complete in another 2-3 day and product addition will start in a week. we are targeting all major categories of product. SEOMOZ Glossary
Does SEOmoz have a glossary of terms. I answer many questions in Q&A and many people don't know what things stand for. "Uuhhhhh what's GWT?" "UUUUUhhh who's Matt Cutts?" "DDuuuhhhhh What GA?" I think it would be good to have a Glossary. SEObook has one, but I don't want to link from this forum to SeoBook. I want to keep it all in the Moz family of subscribers. (DDuurrrr, what's a SERP?)

Does Server Speed Effect SEO Rankings?
I was told by a website developer that Google ranks sites higher if they are hosted on faster servers. Is this true? For example my site is currently limited because it is a Quick Shopping Cart site hosted by Godaddy. He said that if I hosted my research chemical site with a different company with faster servers I could get better ranking immediately. I linked to my site. I think it loads ok. However Godaddy probably isn't the fastest service around.

Machine Learning - Randomness in Search Engine Ranking Algorithms
I believe, sometimes you may 'deserve' the first position, but get #3. And of course, sometimes you may deserve #3 and instead be #1. All due to a 'randomness factor' in search engine algorithms. I've been holding this hypothesis for quite sometime. Really, it started when I learned about SEOmoz using machine learning to better investigate SEO best practices. I suddenly found myself wanting to learn more about machine learning, and the implications of using it for SEO. I'm by no means able to utilize machine learning myself, but I it appears unsupervised learning would have a real chance of cracking search engine algorithms. Hey, even Stuxnet was cracked! Surely Google/ Bing would know (and account for) this, right? We can agree they'd obviously prefer a highly skilled mathematician not be able to crack the code. Therefore, I'm led to believe that search engines use some sort of randomness in their rankings. Maybe not much. Perhaps not all the time. But if a random percentage of search results, had a random variable of sorts included in their calculations... wouldn't that be enough to prevent the vast majority of cracking attempts? Thoughts, opinions, criticism? Thanks.

Hi mozzers, I'm busy writing an ebook that's going to be published around July time. The book focuses on SEO and Social Media with it culminating in a look at how they are becoming more and more overlapped. The book is going to be targeting traditional business people who have very little (or no) inbound marketing experience. Any thoughts for a title would be great! Not counting seomoz or Distilled, what are your top3 SEO blogs you wouldchoose to read if you had a hard limit of 3 total?
Recently on Q&A, Petra weighed in with a link tool site that had completely missed my radar. My problem is lack of time. I don't have enough of it to readthe2 dozen+ SEO blogscurrently in my RSS feed I would like to tobe able to read to stay current. So I end up only reading at the moz.
