Is there any negative SEO effect when using Wordpress for your Blog?

I have a site entirely done in html, no CMS used. The blog page however, is wordpress. Wondering if this will effect us negatively in terms of SEO, having the blog that is linked to our site, a wordpress site. My gut is absolutely not, but the questions was asked....what do you think?

Yes, the blog is just built with wordpress, the site is not built with wordpress. It's straight html, so....www.businessname.com/blog.....

To answer your question I am using a few assumptions. If you have a html website and a wordpress blog I am guessing that your blog is a subdomain or a wordpress.com domain. Using either of these scenarios the simple answer if yes it will affect your rankings.
Both a sub domain and a wordpress.com blog are treated as separate websites to your main website. To really take advantage of any blog activity, deep backlinks, SEO etc etc you should be trying to post your blogs to your main website i.e www.yourdomain.com/blog. All roads lead to "ROME", this gives you the best opportunity to increase your domain and social internet standing. Hope this makes sense and helps.

Based on this sentence, I am not sure if your blog is using Wordpress software to publish content on your site (e.g. www.yoursite.com/blog/) or if your blog is hosted on Wordpress.com (e.g. www.yourblog.wordpress.com). If it is hosted on Wordpress.com there are some issues because your blog is on the Wordpress.com domain instead of your domain. This means that if your blog earns any links that Wordpress.com receives credit for those links instead of your site and your efforts are diluted. If you are using the Wordpress software to run your blog on your own domain, that is a great way to go and there are a lot of SEO benefits (such super easy implementation of title tags and SEO friendly URLs).

WordPress if done the right way is as good if not better then just HTML everyone will have a option and I think you will find Wordpress is a outstanding choice with many benefits over coding when Google wants fresh content it will make your life eazyer I would make sure you have a great web host (Wordpress or not) some good picks if you are on godaddy are Firehost , Pair, bluebox.net, iweb for Wordpress only WPEngine, Zippykid, websynthesis, Pagely & PressLabs are great hope this helps,

I have three sites with wordpress blogs. if you have them set up correctly and do proper SEO they can perform great.

Using a CMS like WordPress is not a problem to organic search engine rankings as long as you maintain unique and related meta descriptions and titles to all of the pages of the blog. Below two articles will be useful for you to start with.

I run my site like that. / (magento) and /blog (wordpress) and /froum (vbulletin). You have NOTHING to worry about.

Basically when the page is loaded, if the element is not within the viewport then the HTML tag (i.e. div tag) have a style="visibility: hidden" and once the element is within the viewport it will change to have style="visibility: visible". Hi! I have to choose a premium woocommerce product filter plugin, but I can't make up my mind since there are so many options out there. I tried to compare some of them, but I would like to hear from experts or people who already bought and run one of them on their websites in order to focus on the better one. Is there a particular plugin which stands out from the crowd? Are there product filter plugins you definitely do not recommend buying? What I am looking for is a SEO oriented plugin( some search results by filters like sizes, colors, in stock /out of stock should not be indexed at all while categories should be normally indexed), easy to use (I am not a developer and I have to be able to set up filters by myself easily), compatible with wpml and and, last but not least, the plugin support should be reliable and helpful. We've been looking at the relationship between SEO & UX a bit more closely lately on the blog. And it's hard, right? UX and SEO teams often operate independently of one another, and may make decisions that affect one another's work. Sometimes it's a "hindsight is 20/20" situation. Sometimes the answer is so radical and impactful that you may want to settle for a "safe" alternative. I'd imagine many of you have encountered some big issues with user experience and search optimization in your day-to-day over the years. What's the most difficult situation you've encountered with this? How did you resolve it? (I'd bet money on there being some really creative solutions out there :). Is there a particularly challenging situation you're struggling with now that you'd want to share & crowdsource ideas for?

Wordpress Blog Providing SEO to Main Site
Hi, I recently started a very much "learn on the job" SEO position, transitioning from a copywriting background. We currently have a wordpress blog up and running (and producing some decent quality content too I hope!) at example.com/blog/ and a sign up page located at example.com (sorry, can't put the address right now) for a site that is being custom built as it's got some nifty software linking to back end systems. My question is whether the content on the blog will bring SEO benefits to the main domain or whether it'll just be for the blog itself? If the latter, should we navigate the blog onto the a separate page of the main site? Thanks so much! I'm learning as much as I can as quickly as I can, but somethings still get me in a little bit of a tizzy.

Effects of HTML layout on Arabic websites and SEO
Hi all, I was hoping someone may be able to help. We are putting together an Arabic website and due to reading right to left as opposed to left to right, the site HTML layout is mirrored compared to normal with everything flipped over. What we are wondering is, will this effect SEO and what are the SEO implications of this? Do the search engine bots automaticlaly know to read the content etc differently and understand that everything is purposely mirrored / the HTML is in a different location compared to a site in the UK / US etc? Will A DHTML Overlay Or ThickBox Capturing Email Hurt SEO?

Yahoo to Wordpress Permalinks
I have had a yahoo site for a couple of years. I want to start blogging so I had a worpress site built. After the site was build I noticed the urls from the previous site were not the same. For example www.besthomecaremn.com/about_us is now www.besthomecaremn.com/index-php/about_us. The company working on the site told me that that yahoo did not support permalinks and they could not make them match exactly. This is a problem because several of my pages rank differently for different terms: /about_us, /employees, /clients, /contact_us, etc, all rank differently. When they came up in the search results and were clicked on you were taken to the old site so it was like we had two sites. The company has now set that to send you to a page that says this page under routine maintenence. They are basically telling me they cannot make the urls for those pages stay the same. I am very frustrated and don't really know what to do at this point. Are they right? Can it really not be done? Can those pages alternatively be set to redirect to the new page urls or will that negatively affect the rank for those pages and how? Should I have them put the old site back up and swith hosting companies? Any advice on what to do in this situation is greatly appreciated.
