Best Time for YouTube Upload?

Does anyone have any data that could help us to understand the best time to upload a video to YouTube?

It doesn't matter at all when you upload a video to YouTube.
Unlike social platforms such as reddit, hacker news etc - there isn't some sort of algorithmic drop off if a YouTube video doesn't get immediate traction. Videos can sit dormat for weeks before then going viral when an influencer picks them up.
The uploading time isn't important, but your wider promotional strategy will be and time may be a factor in that e.g. when do you send out a press release? When should you tweet about it?

Most data found online focus on the general public, rather than a specific group of people. While the general trend of posting on weekdays during lunch time applies, you might want to look into which times are your target audience most likely to be on Youtube.
One way to get started would be to look at what times are most of your followers are active on Facebook (through Facebook Page Insights) and Twitter (several analytics program available). From there, you would be able to gauge which time would be the best to upload your videos for maximum viewership.

It shouldn't matter. There is, of course, time involved in loading & processing the video, but that is not going to impact the performance of your video. You should obviously optimize your video for search to increase visibility and views, but the time of day you upload a video shouldn't mean anything. If there is some sort of time crunch to get the video up, you should do it at least 48 hours before the deadline just to be safe. Google/YouTube protects itself by giving itself an allowance for processing, but I've never seen anything take longer than 24 hours.

Higher requests occurred on weekdays than on weekends – as one would expect.

Diurnal traffic patterns were observed – i.e. More requests occurred during the day than at night.

Steady increase in traffic to youtube from 8am until 1pm

Steady state of peak traffic between 2pm and 6pm

Steady decline in traffic between 7pm and 7am

So: Best time to upload your video to Youtube is:
- During the week
- Wed or Thurs is best
- Submit your video between 12pm and 1pm as it can take up to an hour to upload and process your video. This way your video will be live during peak traffic at 2pm – that is the target.

How to optimise Youtube videos
Hello Mozers I have four individual 'Benefits' videos on our companies Youtube channel. Three describe individual benefits and one is a composite of all three. All the videos have an audio script to accompany the visuals. I have been asked to optimise these videos and so far I have added: Title, Description and tags within the 'Info & Setting' section for each video. However I am sure that I should be adding more information to optimise these videos more completely. I have the audio transcript in written form and have a hunch I should be adding the relevant audio transcript to each video. Currently in the section 'Add new subtitles on CC' I have 'Published' 'English (Automatic), which is an approximation of the actual script. Could anyone point me to a resource which clearly shows how to accurately add subtitles to a video. Is it just a case of cutting and pasting and manually timing, or is there a slicker way of adding the text? Thanks Catherine

Thanks for all you guys do I am writing because I am trying to build a company's SEO link profile with links that have super high, and super stable Domain and Page Authorities (as well as solid Trust and Citation flows). I do this organically and even build my own sites using moz strategies - BUT, I am in need of your best advice: What are some links you can "buy" (as a result of using services from) that are strong and dofollow? Is Constant Contact good? Is Best of the Web good? tweetangels smart? I have seen several businesses with constant contact links (very high domain authority) on their profiles and as the head of business development for a mid-sized marketing firm, I want to see if constant contact, botweb, etc. are smart sources to put my clients on for the sake of the seo profile links - I am looking for strong, long-term perma-bumps for my companies and don't want to miss out on low-hanging fruit (that won't poison me in the end). Can you speak to that please? Do you guys have a list of directory links or 'whatever' links that are "get-able" by a regular guy like me that are not simply 2.0 nofollow? Thank you Ben

Traffic from YouTube
Hi I've suggested a client add annotated links to the end of their YT vids to help get traffic from YT My clients video guy has suggested setting up a hidden redirect page so we can tell how many people come to the website from youtube I take it this is not necessary since traffic from YT will be easily identified by Google analytics anyway ? YouTube Listing Videos That We Didn't Upload
Our Company has recently started doing videos on installation and product features. As we were going through our Google YouTube Analytic, we noticed there are random letters and numbers that are coming up as a video (example:YsQgAQPykMI), although it is not a link. _Where we are finding this information: Google YouTube Analytic under the Comment section. The bottom section will list the videos that the channel has uploaded and its respective link. _ 1. What and why is YouTube pulling this information? 2. How can I remove this from our listing? 3. What are different strategies to achieve a strong social presence for clients in multiple industries? How do you best leverage your time?
I just finished watching the mozinar on "The End of Search Without Social" mozinar, and I have so many points that I want to implement for our agency. The problem I see is that we have clients in about 20 different industries. How do you create strong social relationships in each of these industries for your clients? It seems that you could have more influence if you built all into your own personal profiles or your SEO company's to create that great fan base. Anyone have success in doing it across the board?
